Anyone else have really strong associations of Coheed albums with particular video games?

I very strongly associate In Keeping Secrets and Good Apollo vol. 1 with days spent playing Halo and Halo 2 respectively. I'd blast each of them while playing whether it was multiplayer or campaign and it felt truly epic to my teenage self. The Crowing always takes me back to Silent Cartographer and that epic run at the end of Willing Well II reminds me of the end section of Halo 2 aboard the Scarab.

On a more modern tip, I listened to Vaxis III a lot while getting 100% completion in Doom the Dark Ages. I can't help but think of fighting a hell knight inside the Cthulhu monster when I hear Father of Make Believe.

I'd love to hear anyone else's game + album pairings!

Why no Answer For It subreddit?

I recently got into Answer For It and I've been loving it, but I'm wondering why there's not an individual subreddit for it or much of a community at all? I'm by no means qualified to do so myself but I humbly suggest maybe there should be one if anyone was interested. Just a thought.

A Simpsons shitpost inspired by #826 (original included)

I'm not sure if this too off topic but when I see the opportunity for a Simpsons reference I take it.

"If you can't do anything to change it then you shouldn't worry about it" is nonsense advice and people who live by it have no serious problems

I don't know why people never seem to understand that the fact that I can't do something about a problem makes it *worse*, it doesn't just make me go "Well okay then! ☀️🌈🍭"

It's absolutely batshit logic and comes off like the person saying it has never really been in a situation that felt hopeless.

Listened to last week's episode on speakers and ended up getting this as an ad later

Company name is just covered because I'm genuinely not sure if that sort of thing is legit or what but I thought it was funny how obviously targeted this was.

Peak found on a thrifted iPod shuffle

I discovered Bayside a couple years after I lost my precious iPod shuffle (this exact model, even) so they never graced it but my library was very much like this person's. The Used, Motion City Soundtrack, Paramore, MCR, Reggie and the Full Effect... This made me really nostalgic needless to say lmao

I kind of miss having 1gb to work with and picking the stuff you just *had* to have with you.

What's up with the random low quality song uploads to the YouTube channel?

This is so bizarre and has been totally unaddressed by the band as far as I know. Random songs from Shudder and the ST have been showing up on their channel, and the audio quality is really bad. At least one even had a scheduled live release though. There's no apparent connection to anything, it's not like it's a milestone anniversary for either album.

First time watching along- how does post-season work?

Since Jeopardy has *finally* come to next-day streaming, I've been loving getting to watch regular season play as it comes out and haven't missed an episode.

But I'm wondering what happens when a Jeopardy season ends. I know TOC is coming but I don't believe Ken made any mention of when. What is the usual period between? And will there be nothing new until then? What about Celebrity Jeopardy or other offshoots?

Any info would be much appreciated. It's become a ritual in the house. 😅

I can instantly tell I'm going to hate hearing this Target ad a thousand times

Just saw it for the first time, unskippable on YouTube. I watch a lot of YouTube. I can already tell by the time back to school shopping ends I'll want to shove a pencil in my ears from this ad, but I'll be sure to buy them anywhere but Target.

Totally locked out of an Apple account associated with my email and I don't know the phone number on it

I have an old Apple account associated with a band I released some music with back in the day, and I've been getting random recovery emails for it. With the first one, I figured anyone who really wants to can probably request one and it doesn't mean they have my password or anything. So I cancelled it and didn't think much of it.

Second one came and I thought, okay, I guess my email is on some list somewhere so that's annoying but still evidently my password isn't.

Then a third one came, and I just figured I'd shut the account down because it was getting annoying and I don't use it anyway.

So I went to log in, and my password works, but then it asks for a code off my MacBook Pro.... I don't have a MacBook pro. So I click "Can't access", and I get a prompt to send a code to my phone number.... The digits visible on the phone number are not my phone number. *SIGH*. So then I click "Can't access" on the phone number too... And now it wants me to enter the full associated phone number. Which I don't know.

Also, looking further into my email history, I found that there was 2FA added in November that I'm pretty sure wasn't me. And somehow I missed that email entirely as well as the window to cancel it. I get weekly updates on the band's stats on Apple Music to my inbox too though.

How can I get access to disassociate this account with my email address?

Weirdly, the recovery requests come from three completely different cities in different states, *but* two of them share the same contact number. Neither phone number from the three requests matches the contact number on the account.

The band is still active, so I've asked if anyone in it is responsible, but I highly doubt it and the requests and phone numbers associated are from the total opposite side of the country.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Who the hell decided this new shirt should say "Blame it on THE bad luck"?

Not the biggest deal but it bugs the shit out of me. I would really want this one if it weren't for that.

Series X not recognizing Deadpool Xbox One disc at all?

I got a copy of Deadpool on disc for Xbox One, and on inserting it into my console it doesn't recognize it or that a disc has been inserted *at all*.

There's nothing visibly wrong with the disc, and I thought this game was supposed to be backward compatible. Even if it weren't I would assume it would at least acknowledge that a disc is in the console.

All other disc games work fine.

Am I mistaken about backwards compatibility??

It's refreshing how genuine this channel is

I discovered the channel this week and have been catching up, and something I keep thinking is I *love* how earnestly the gang are experiencing and enjoying their travels. Too much of YouTube is cynical and steeped in irony. And frankly, I felt that way about Cow Chop a lot of the time (Though mostly from people other than Aleks, Brett, or Lindsey) so I was a little skeptical going in. But it's been really refreshing to see how good of a time they've been having.

My favorite video so far, and the moment this clicked for me, is the train ride to the grand canyon. I appreciate the positive vibes of the vlog and how nobody acted like they were too cool or like the experience was corny or dull. They even humored the guide and his dad jokes lol. I like that they make themselves or each other the butt of the joke but avoid being rude to/about their hosts like many edgier people would.

I'm hooked, and eager to see where else they go

Flo from Progressive's sister

I get these a lot on Hulu in particular where they'll have the actress who plays Flo act against herself as a sibling or other family member.

It blows my mind that they created one of the rare relatively endearing (or at least inoffensive) advertising characters of the last two decades or so and eventually were like "...Yeah but what if we added insufferable versions of her that suck ass?"

This one where her sister absent mindedly drives her while applying makeup to what she thinks is their mom's house but ends up being a salon or something instead, and Flo is like "But we're celebrating your birthday!" and the sister is like "That's great for you 💅"

While we're coming up with brilliant ideas what if the Geico gecko had a cousin that beats his wife.

How was the Hybrid Theory EP released/sold at the time it was recorded?

I've never been totally clear on this. As I understand it the EP was recorded in the same sessions as Hybrid Theory when the band was going to be *called* Hybrid Theory (making it just a self-titled EP, not "Hybrid Theory EP") before they changed their name to Linkin Park.

In that time before the pivot, was the Hybrid Theory EP pressed and sold? Or did it just kind of sit on the shelf until LPU was established and it was released as part of that?

I'm a little confused why an absolute banger of an EP seemed to languish in relative obscurity. In those early days you had to be about-about LP and/or find the tracks on Limewire like a lot of us did. I've said before I think Hybrid Theory itself is essentially perfect so I don't think anything from it needed to make the jump over, but why wasn't it repurposed as a proper Linkin Park EP and given a wide release? To not cannibalize sales of the LP? Then why was it recorded? 🤔

Pound for pound what are the silliest Jerma streams?

I'm in a mood where I could really use something goofy. Jerma is always a good go to, but honestly the majority of his streams aren't *overtly* comedic. There's the occasional bit or one-guy moment but he's still relatively low-key despite his reputation.

What are some of the streams where overall there's the highest rate of funny moments? Whether intentionally or not, when does Jerma most fully slip into "e-clown" mode?

I'll get the ball rolling by saying the LA Noire streams have always been a favorite of mine. His driving in the game and his detective skills are a constant source of humor, and theres occasional bits that are the cherry on top like him struggling to keep up with the nudity in the game and keep it covered.

Jerma kind of touched on something that annoys me about chat and culture in general lately

I'm watching the RE9 final stream and he remarked on how exploring the RPD station he felt like he couldn't comment on remembering stuff too much or react too much or chat would mock him. He picked up Jill's beret and went "Oh it's--" and *visibly had to "correct" himself* to have a more understated reaction.

In another recent stream, a Tomadachi Life I think, somebody called him a Tuber or a Redditor or some shit for something he said and he sounded genuinely annoyed when he said "I'm just a guy talking to you, man".

I don't actively engage in chat because I mainly watch VODs and, well, for obvious reasons it seems like it just sucks half the time. But just hearing Jerma field comments and snark from people paints such an obnoxious image. Everyone wants to put something in a box or make it a stereotype and act like they're so savvy about tropes or whatever. They think they're so clever for recognizing that yeah, sometimes media will revisit prior entries to evoke a reaction. 🤯

It just seems exhausting. It's like the next evolution of the snarky media bullshit CinemaSins ushered in. Everything's a Reddit this or a Tuber that or you can't remember anything too fondly or you're engaging in "member berries" or something.

Am I the crazy one here? Why not just let people be and like what they like, react how they react and feel what they feel?

Edit for some clarity:

I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of responses here but one common thread I see from a few people and wanted to address is the idea that I'm projecting onto Jerma or trying to protect him or something. I cited two things he explicitly said (feeling like he can't react too much, "I'm just a guy talking to you"), and noted one thing I thought I perceived but definitely seems like a bit in hindsight (the beret thing). By no means am I trying to assert how I think he must feel on his behalf. I mentioned a couple specifics from him but by a wide margin I'm just talking about how annoyed I am by chat (and not even exclusively chat, I tried to make it clear I think chat's attitude is a symptom of a wider problem but the broader issue isn't as relevant to this sub)

This is 90 per cent a "Why do people suck so much" post and maybe about 10 per cent a "It must be miserable to deal with this" post. Jerma's been doing this over a decade, he's dealt with plenty of bullshit and I know he doesnt need me clutching my pearls. I'm just saying this is a feeling I get seemingly at least once a stream at this point- not enough to ruin my experience or put me off watching, I just find myself rolling my eyes- and hearing Jerma say something about it was a little satisfying. I didn't think he was super pressed, I didn't think he was about to cry, I wasn't wanting to rush to his side and shield him like a wilting victorian lady.

Didn't mean to turn this into an essay on top of an essay but I like to yap, sue me.

Is this good for anything?

Just had this drop from Bartuc. I've never geared with mythic uniques in mind so I don't know anything about them other than that the +ranks to all skills is generally good.

Is there anything I could do with this on a Paladin? I'm playing a wing strike build and really enjoying it. If it's better suited for another class entirely I might give it a roll. Idk, what would you do with it?
