I'm planning to apply for Winter intake in Germany and would appreciate some advice from people who have been through the process.

- B.Tech in Biotechnology

- German GPA: 2.0

- IELTS: 6.5

- German language: A2

Preferred course:

M.Sc. Pharmaceutical and Industrial Biotechnology

Preferred uni:

- Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg

I've already gone through the course pages and admission requirements, but I'd like to hear from students or alumni.

My questions are:

1. Is my profile competitive for admission to these programs?

2. How competitive are these universities for international applicants?

3. If you've studied at either university, how was your experience regarding teaching quality, research opportunities, internships, and job prospects after graduation?

Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

1. Is coding absolutely necessary to build a career in bioinformatics or computational biology? I genuinely dislike coding. Are there roles where coding is minimal?

2. Can someone succeed in molecular docking or computational drug discovery with only basic Python and Linux knowledge?

3. How much coding do you actually do in your day-to-day job as a bioinformatician or computational biologist?

4. For someone from a biotechnology background, what's the biggest challenge when transitioning into bioinformatics?

5. Which programming language should I learn first if my goal is molecular docking and drug discovery?

6. How much mathematics and statistics do I really need for computational biology?

7. Is molecular docking becoming oversaturated, or is there still good demand in academia and industry?

8. If you could start over in bioinformatics today, what would you learn first?

9. Are there bioinformatics careers that focus more on biological interpretation than programming?

10. Can someone who isn't passionate about coding still enjoy computational biology, or is coding the majority of the work?

11. What skills do biotech graduates usually lack when applying for bioinformatics jobs?

When will the results be out?

I am planning on going on a trip this year to a place with no signals and all..a wild retreat..so I have to plan dates accordingly

I'm a 3rd year B.Tech Biotechnology student. Would love to study masters in a course that combines biotech/pharma and management. Done prior research, Afaik there are 2 good universities like UCL(london) that provides msc biotech and pharma management, UCD(Dublin) that provides msc biotechnology and business.

Fee for the UCD one is 29,500 euros and with scholarship its 19500. For the UCL one its 39,500 euros.

Also, is having experience after ug preferred over fresh graduates abroad

Which one is better and which country has better job opportunities, roi,the racism aspect etc. European countries are preferred.

Would really appreciate the help!
