Classifying the tutoring from demonic origins

In Magic the Gathering, tutoring and drawing cards are an analogy for learning. In the color black specifically, they do this through the sacrifice of their health in exchange for knowledge.

On one end of the spectrum is Dark Confidant, who draws you a card and then you lose life based on the mana cost of the card. If it's a land card you lose nothing, but if it's a Blightsteel Colossus you might lose 12 life. On the other side of that spectrum is Griselbrand, who lets you draw 7 cards for 7 life. You can't cheat his system by paying less life for cards, you have to pay 7 and you have to draw 7. If each card drawn is equivalent to 1 life then the 0 cost land might have hurt you a bit, but the 12 mana colossus also hurts you for 1 all the same. In the middle of this is Villis, Broker of Blood who can let you draw cards per life lost. You can go to him directly for a blood offering of 2 life for 2 cards or he'll let you draw as you lose your life naturally.

Obviously, in game there are cost implications like how Dark Confidant is 2 cost and also a human while Griselbrand costs 8 and is also an archdemon, but the implication is that Griselbrand is better at the contract between you and him, where he will do it more efficiently at possibly even less risk to yourself. Meanwhile, Villis seems more conniving, he's fine with you getting something at even a discount, but he's waiting for all of your life to go so he can collect.

On the other hand, the art that depicts Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Tutor, and Grim Tutor. Grim Tutor implies that you attempted to do it all on your own through a sacrifice of blood which is why it costs 3 life. Demonic Tutor shows that you are speaking directly to the demon itself which is why it's free while Diabolic Tutor implies that you are talking not to a demon but to a denizen of the underworld.

Is anyone able to make out what General Pepper says during the credits

General Pepper has this speech about peace while Fox is taking a call from ROB. Is anyone able to get a clean rip of Pepper's audio to make out what he's saying?

It would be really funny if Mirrodin was the only place Jace fixed right while everywhere else is a disaster.

Coming off the heels of the Darksteel Angel reveal and of a hint of a mirrodin pure of the phyrexians. It would seem as if Jace fixed the one plane that he set out to fix correctly as it was the primary purpose of Reality Fracture.

It would just be insanely funny if every other plane was a disaster except for Mirrodin.

How does the EDHREC community determine what is and isn't a true 2 card combo?

I'm looking at [[Yuna, Grand Summoner]] and [[Freed from the Real]] and it was decided in a vote that it isn't a true 2-card combo, but is flagged as a warning that it is an early game combo. Meanwhile Yuna and [[Pemmin's Aura]] isn't flagged as a true 2 card combo.

This has me confused, because infinite +1/+1 counters on a creature does sound liable to be considered too strong for a bracket 3 pod. It can also come out as early as turn 4 to 5 with ramp. Is it because you need an additional creature in hand? Is it because one creature with infinite counters can only remove one person but not end the game unless it was something like a [[Walking Ballista]]?

Yuna, Grand Summoner - Brainstorming ideas around creatures that have effects based on their power, toughness, and/or the amount of counters they have

I'm looking for card ideas for a Bant Yuna deck that is designed to ramp into big payoff creatures. I'm looking at cards of a specific type of word text

"Equal to its power" - Cards like [[Goldvein Hydra]] or [[Ouroboroid]] or [[Jacked Rabbit]] creatures that grant a certain effect based on their newly modified power now that Yuna grants them two +1/+1 counters

"Number of +1/+1 counters on" - Cards like [[Bloodspore Thrinax]] or [[Runadi, Behemoth Caller]] that card about the number of counters something is on to grant an additional effect.

"Whenever a counter is placed on" - Cards like [[Fathom Mage]] [[Pensive Professor]] and [[Terrasymbiosis]]

"Remove a +1/+1 counter" - Cards like [[Ingenious Prodigy]]

[[Creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it...]] - cards like [[Abzan Falconer]] and [[Herald of Secret Streams]]

"Modified Creatures"

I wanted to find other creature ideas that are aligned with effects that like counters or their power and toughness modified. I wanted to make this post to provide the cards that I've already added into my Yuna deck, but I also wanted to hear new ideas too.

This deck is also for bracket 3, so no [[Freed from the Real]] type infinites.

Does ROB only give you supplies because its commissioned by General Pepper?

Talks of Star Fox being a mercenary group has been stirring up and I think an interesting aspect is ROB granting you supply drops. The supply drop happens infrequently which is weird because you think a mothership like the Great Fox could do supply drops more often.

But in line with Star Fox being a mercenary group in it for the money, what if the supply drops are only due to them being commission approved by General Pepper. With ROB making contact with General Pepper during missions and only dropping supplies when it's approved.

Wouldn't Black Panther and Wakanda citizens be more like Abzan rather than Selesnya?

Wakanda does represent the Green White philosophy of community, but I feel like the country's isolationist aspect pulls them further to a shade of black with Abzan. At least more so with earlier iterations of the Black Panther and Wakanda.

Rionya, Fire Dancer and Gogo, Mysterious Mime "beginning of combat" question

If I have a [[Rionya, Fire Dancer]], a [Gogo, Mysterious Mime], and an [[Inferno Titan]] on the field, and let's say I have casted 1 sorcery during my turn.

At the beginning of combat, Rionya will generate 2 token copies of Inferno Titan. Then Gogo's beginning of combat triggers and I choose to copy Rionya. Now when Gogo becomes a copy of Rionya, do I generate another 2 token copies of Inferno Titan?

I found this 2002 American Silver Eagle while cleaning out my storage unit. What are these blemishes and does it affect the value of the coin?

I came across this 2002 American Silver dollar while cleaning out my storage unit. Its still in bag, but it has some rusty blemishes possibly from it being inside the storage unit. How were those blemishes caused, is it a normal thing? Does this affect the value of the coin greatly?

Was Avatar Kuruk's story a retcon from future material or did he just not want to reveal to Aang about the nature of his fight with the spiritual world?

When we first meet Avatar Kuruk through Aang, Kuruk explains that he was a "goes with the flow" kind of avatar. People solved their own problems and the world was at peace. However, we find out later that Avatar Kuruk was actively fighting spirits from the spirit world throughout most of his life and that he was just pretending to be easy going so people don't get worried about what was happening.

In the real world, was this considered a retcon due to expanding more on Avatar Kuruk through the books?

In universe, did Avatar Kuruk just leave out the details of his conflict with the spirit world even from Aang because it wasn't pressing?

Does anyone try drafting in a way so you can watch the highest variance of games per week?

I feel like there are still some teams I have no idea about. Between a QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, a TE, 2 Flex, Kicker, and a defense you should be able to have at least 1 position per division, but is this a dumb idea to try to spread it around this way?

Is asking for damaged staples at LGS weird?

I like finding damaged cards for cheaper prices. I recently found a damaged Bristly Bill for 28 dollars and some stores in Japan sell damaged cards for cheap too. Is it weird to ask LGS for damaged cards in the states?

Emeritus of Conflict and Rionya, Fire Dancer question

[[Emeritus of Conflict]] checks if I cast the third spell on the current turn. Does this mean that if I cast spell, spell, and then cast Emeritus of Conflict, the Emeritus will immediately be prepared?

Then if I have a [[Rionya, Fire Dancer]] trigger and choose to copy my Emeritus for lets say 2 counts of sorcery for 3 copies of the Emeritus. Would each copy of Emeritus as they come into the field already be prepared?

Garruk's story as a corrupted and dark hunter who take down Planeswalkers was so cool, but it never really got the development it needed and I always thought it ended a little too soon when Garruk became cleansed of the darkness of the Chain Veil.

After seeing Jace is 4 color without green and seeing Garruk is back, I had a thought. I think one of the coolest ways they could round out Garruk's development is making him a hunter of the reality fractured planeswalkers not just for game as he did before, but as a force of returning balance to the multiverse.
