How to change these bulbs?

How to change these bulbs?

Several of these bulbs are out in my kitchen. Can anyone offer any advice for these? I have two questions.

  1. How do I remove these? I’ve done some research but I can’t find this specific light fixture. I’ve heard that these bulbs may need to be pushed in before turning. When I push in, I don’t really “feel anything” happen. I also have a hard time grabbing the bulb. The lamp shade is pretty tight around the bulb and I can’t get my fingers around it. I really can only attempt to twist it by pushing on the front of the bulb but I’m worried I’m going to break the attachment point. The bulb flexes side to side inside the lamp shade but doesn’t twist, at least I have not been able to twist it.

  2. Any thoughts on what type of bulb this is?

First Ever Program Win for Each Current Big 12 Team

Saw someone put this together for the SEC, so thought what about Big 12 Football? Pulled the data from Wikipedia.

Fun fact, many of the current Big 12 schools had drastically different names. One of my favorites is “Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm**”.**

How to get to MetLife, Not Driving

I’m planning to go to the preseason game on Saturday. I’ve never been to MetLife. This will be my first NFL game! I’m fairly close in Jersey City, near light rail. I’m trying to figure out how to get to MetLife.

Is it right that I would need to take light rail to Hoboken, get on a train to Secaucus and then get a separate train to MetLife? Or take a ride share? I could also go the other way. PATH to Newark and train to Secaucus but that sounds even worse to me

Three questions:
- will they run the MetLife train for a preseason game?
- Am I missing something? The transit options seem like a huge hassle, even if the train is running
- Should I just uber? Post game would be probably rough. And the round trip uber will be probably 8x my ticket cost at least

LARE Construction Documentation and Administration - Thoughts on CLARB Recommended Readings

Took this exam over the weekend. Wanted to hear other people’s thoughts on the exam.

For me, what was the most frustrating was that each of the “recommended readings” often conflict on critical information. I found this especially obvious for the “sheet series” questions. One of the recommended readings is Landscape Architecture Documentation Standards - which covers sheet series and each sheet’s content. However, I found on the exam that all my questions “preferred” the other readings’ direction on this topic.. noticeable since the questions list completely different sheets such as the combined “Layout and Materials Sheet”. Anyone else experience anything similar?

My point being, after taking my last exam, I still really don’t understand how they can provide several textbooks as guidance for studying, each with overlapping information, and then on the test, use only one of the textbooks as a basis for the question. In my opinion, at the minimum, they should decide which book is the LARE study resource for each topic group covered on the exam.

The current system works out okay for a lot of people but it seems CLARB wants to waste everyone’s time making them study various references of the same topic. I can’t understand how learning different methods of the same task and then being tested one 1 of those methods, makes anyone a better landscape architect. Or forcing exam takers into buying 3rd party study guides to hopefully distill the overwhelming amount of information into something actually able to be studied.

Etihad Park Announces New Etihad Park+ Membership Program

Etihad Park is launching a venue-specific membership, which offers benefits and early access to all events and teams who play at the park (Gotham included). NYCFC says that it should complement or work with their team membership (not duplicate). Quote below from the article.

“Available to all, Etihad Park+ is designed to complement the broader guest experience at Etihad Park by creating more opportunities to engage with the venue beyond matchday. The program will offer enhanced access and preferred opportunities to all Etihad Park events, including priority access to New York City FC, Gotham FC, and other non-soccer events, merchandise, food and beverage benefits, member experiences, and more. “

Gotham FC vs Washington Spirt NWSL Queens Classic Match-Up at Citi Field 7/15 is the Highest Attendance Women’s Sporting Event in NYC History

The new record beats the previous 2023 record at the US Open Women’s Singles Final. It is the second highest attendance in NWSL league history, shy of the 63,004 attendees earlier this year at Denver’s Empower Field.

Yesterday also acted as a launching pad for Gotham FC’s announcement that they will share the under-construction Etihad Park, located next to Citi Field, with the MLS’s NYCFC coming 2028.

Post Game: Citi Field Transportation Options

Wanted to get some discussion on everyone’s travel to Citi field yesterday! I took the subway there and the shuttle home to NJ, personally.

I really just wanted to say that the shuttle was really great. Easy to use, convenient and much faster than the train. I’m hoping maybe that Ethiad Park could work with the Mets to run their shuttle buses sometimes - they already have the infrastructure there and the parks are extremely close together.

Anyone else have any travel insights from yesterday?

[Wheeler] Kansas State AD Gene Taylor said he's seen mock-ups of the Monster Big 12 patch that will be on uniforms. Said they aren't as bad as the biggest skeptic might think. They are required to be the Monster green. The logo can't be changed to purple or white.

GFC Instagram Trends

I was curious about how things are trending with the team’s socials and data is pretty fun so I pulled a few metrics.

Here is an image from social blade highlighting monthly follower growth since 2023. There are some notable high spots that align with their championship runs in 2023 and 2025. They have been steadily gaining followers, never having a net loss.

In June, GFC gained around 5,250 followers surrounding the Challenge Cup - relatively similar to the 2025 championship run spike of about 6,800 new followers.

Since July is not complete, there is not yet monthly data available, but in the past 14 days, GFC has gained 4.8k new followers with 2.2k in a single day, June 30th when they won the NWSL Challenge Cup.

Recent day new follower counts:
* July 1 - 232
* July 2 - 167
* July 3 - 205
* July 4 - 152
* July 5 - 242
* July 6 - 179
* July 7 - 406
* July 8 - 882 (partial number)

Based off my unscientific understanding, it seems to me that after the 2023 win, they had a huge boost - this was also their third year in Harrison with fans in attendance. They’ve continued to steadily grow but have not had a major follower boost since 2023 (11k in one month).

Now in July, the two days since the announcement, it seems a new audience is being reached. It will be interesting to see how it keeps trending as the news keeps spreading, but it’s looking like July will be another good month for Gotham, in terms of followers - based on this very small sample and if it keeps trending up

Honest Question Here: For Brooklyn/Queens Fans

You all are stoked for the move to queens. Awesome, super happy for you all. Hope the team does really well in Queens.

Quick question though, why are you all not supporting the USL Super League team Brooklyn FC if you want to see local women’s soccer? Yeah it’s a lower tier in theory, but it’s still supporting the women’s game. I’m concerned about Gotham moving when the existing teams can’t seem to get support. They currently play at the baseball field on Coney Island, Maimonides Park. It’s right off a subway stop

Tuition at WVU | Mountaineer Athletics Advantage Fee FAQs

This is an FAQ link but what I wanted to point out is that WVU is doubling its “athletic fee” that is included in student tuition from $125 to $250 this upcoming year. The fee was first included in tuition last year, so it has gone from $0 to $250 in 2 years. Previously athletics were covered in general “university fees”.

The school says this:

Why are Morgantown students asked to contribute toward this fee?
The University is experiencing escalating expenses for the Athletic Department because of an increasingly competitive landscape.

Since the athletics experience is such an integral part of the student experience on our flagship campus in Morgantown, the Mountaineer Athletics Advantage Fee helps address and backfill these increasing expenses as current Athletics Department resources are deployed to address revenue share expenses.

…. (Other content)

How is the University securing funding to reach the $20.5 million cap?
As of July 1, 2025, WVU has begun sharing approximately $20.5 million of generated revenues — which include ticket sales, Big 12 Conference earnings and multi-media revenues — with WVU student-athletes. These revenues had previously supported the operations of WVU Athletics and its 18 sports.

To help backfill these costs that now compensate student-athletes, the University and WVU Athletics are pursuing many avenues, including increased sponsorships, additional fundraising efforts, a reallocation of expenses within Athletics, enhanced University support, and increasing the Mountaineer Athletics Advantage Fee.”
