36 minutes for a $5.75 order. Avoid Superstore. Canada

Just watched a Dasher stuck waiting 36 minutes for an order that paid $5.75. No order is worth that kind of wait.
If you’re dashing, I’d avoid accepting orders from Superstore unless you know that location is actually fast.

Amex FHR booked on June 30 but posted on July 1. Any Help?

I'm looking for some help.

I booked an Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) reservation on June 30, and the charge showed as pending that day. However, it didn't post until July 1.

As a result, Amex applied it toward my second-half hotel credit instead of my first-half credit, meaning I effectively lost the unused $300 credit from the first half of the year.

Customer service told me they can't manually adjust it because the benefit is triggered automatically when the transaction is processed.

The Terms & Conditions mention that eligible purchases must be "processed" by the deadline, but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully argued that a purchase made on June 30 should qualify, even if it posted the next day.

Has anyone had success with this issue?

I'd appreciate any advice or experiences. This is my first time using the benefit.

How do I start running when I hate it?

I want to get into running for health and fitness, but honestly I hate it.

I’m already active (gym, walking, other sports), but running feels boring and uncomfortable after just a few minutes, and I usually end up quitting early.

How do I actually get started?

Laid Off From a $300k IT Job, Tried a Minimum-Wage Job

I've spent most of my career in tech and was making around $300k/year as a software engineer. After being laid off, I ended up working at a restaurant for about a month now.

I never worked a minimum-wage job before.

My days consisted of chopping onions, frying French fries, washing dishes, carrying supplies, and helping with cleanup at closing.

The dishwashing part was surprisingly relaxing. You spray off the dishes, load the dishwasher, unload everything, and put it back where it belongs. That's pretty much it.

Maybe it's because my brain has been occupied for years with meetings and deadlines, but there was something satisfying about physical work where you can immediately see the results of what you've done.

CocoSpoon - Handmade udon and katsu

Stopped by CocoSpoon at Bloor & Islington and was pleasantly surprised.

Ordered the Coco Katsu, Spicy Seafood Udon, and Calamari Tempura.

The standout for me was the udon. They make the noodles fresh daily in-house using a Japanese flour and udon machine, and you can actually taste the difference.

The noodles were firm, chewy, and had that texture!!!!!!!

The katsu was another highlight. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and not greasy at all. It reminded me of some of the katsu meals I've had in Japan.

The calamari tempura was light and crispy as well.

Just sharing since it's a new restaurant in the area.

The owner mentioned a few things that stood out to me:

Happy hour from 3–6 PM on weekdays

Free 2 hour underground parking with validation

Hotel Xcaret Arte – honest review (photo dump)

Stayed at Hotel Xcaret Arte and wanted to share a quick review.

Overall, it’s not a traditional Cancun resort. It’s more of an “experience hub” for the Xcaret parks.

What stood out:
Airport transfers included and very smooth
Access + transportation to Xcaret parks included
Xcaret Park was the highlight (rivers, culture, night show)
Xplor was the most fun/adrenaline-heavy day
Xel-Há was perfect for slow snorkeling + floating
Resort itself is quiet, modern, and design-focused

Food:
Better than average all-inclusive. Specialty restaurants are the main highlight.

It’s scheduled. You’re not just staying at a beach resort. you’re moving between parks most days.

I also missed out on Tepanyaki at the resort because of timing/scheduling.

38M immigrant, $5M net worth stepping away from corporate

38M immigrant in Canada

Built around $5M net worth after starting with nothing.

Yesterday, after thinking a lot about my health, I decided to step away from corporate work.

It’s been too stressful, and lately the work has felt less meaningful, especially working with AI and offshore.

I came to Canada with $0 and lived frugally the whole way. No flashy lifestyle.

Now I just want to slow down, focus on my health, and live more intentionally.

Not trying to make it sound dramatic or like I’m escaping work.

Just feels like the right time to step back.

As a digital nomad, I've taken around 60 cruises across 5 different cruise lines, and Windstar had the best cuisine I've experienced.

Standout dishes included seared shrimp, octopus, beef Wellington, duck confit, and beef tenderloin. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the presentation felt like a fine-dining restaurant rather than cruise food.

The desserts were excellent too. The lemon tart, mousse dome, and chocolate pot.

Curious if others who've sailed Windstar feel the same, or if you've found another cruise line with even better food.

38M $5M CAD net worth. Should I quit my job and focus on my health?

I've accumulated about $5M in net worth, but I've also gained 50 lbs over the years from focusing heavily on work.

Would it make sense to take a break from work and prioritize my health, fitness, and weight loss, or should I keep working and try to balance both?

Curious to hear your thoughts.
