Why does my puppy (3 months old) bite me so much?

My partner and I got our puppy when she was 2 months old. She’s on crate training process and doesn’t cry when in her crate anymore (sometimes just some whining and stops shortly after) and usually sleeps there for a nap when I can see she’s tired.
We try giving her her 18 hours of sleep per day. I play with her, am her main feeder, take her to the vet/give her her shots, etc. all her main needs are met, she has bite-appropriate toys and I teach her tricks/commands to keep her sharp.
She’s overall pretty smart and not badly-behaved, she can’t go out yet because she’s still missing her third shot, so we try for her to not get too bored and sometimes I take her out in a little basket so she can smell stuff outside.

My main problem with her is despite all this she has taken a particular interest in my feet and ankles, not my partner’s. Just mine. He can walk to and fro and she’ll be fine, but my puppy will not just nip at my ankles, she’ll full-on bite them and my feet, sometimes with force. Whenever my partner tells her off, she listens immediately and she’ll stop while he’s in the same room. But if I tell she off she will bark at me and grumble/growl, then pounce at my feet again. Sometimes it looks like she’s defying me, I know she’s really young but it literally looks like that 😭

I’ve done all the methods. Freezing, yelping, ignoring, reverse timeout, scuff grabbing, everything. She will not take her eyes off my feet when I’m moving and it’s so painful, I can’t walk anywhere without worrying I’ll step on her. She does this herding thing whenever I walk somewhere and if I move she’ll nip at my feet.

She’s a mixed breed and I’ll post a picture of her here, if it helps. The pictures are from when she was younger and now, they’re mixed.

What puzzles me is she will only do this with me. Her worst behavior issues are only with me. She learned to be way less bitey with my partner and with me it seems worse than before 🥲 I can’t help feel a little jealous and wonder if I’m doing anything wrong. I know she’s teething but wouldn’t it make sense to bite the both of us and not selectively lol?

If it matters, I work online from home so she sees me way more than him.

New puppy stirred up grief for my old family dog

My first and only dog, Maya, came to us when I was 9 (17 years ago): I had sneaked her as a puppy in our house with my dad's help, after my mom refused to let us have a dog. As it tends to happen, my mom ended up loving her incredibly. She passed away in 2023 and I always remember her. She was so sweet, so funny, so smart, with such a strong personality.

A few weeks ago, my partner and I adopted a puppy and it has been hard, as it is with all puppies. But we have still persevered. I hadn't compared her with my previous dog until today, when my phone "kindly" reminded me of Maya through one of those pre-made albums. I looked at old pictures of her in her last days (thanks, phone) and started crying softly, ironically, just as my puppy was sleeping beneath the chair I was sitting on. It was a mixture of nostalgia, missing Maya, comparing my new puppy with her for the first time, and guilt for comparing her.

My puppy made me miss Maya so, so much. I feel super guilty because I know no two dogs are the same, and that I still haven't bonded with my puppy, and I know it'll take time and patience.

I just wanted to vent and thank you for your time reading this :')

I'm so sad and frustrated about my puppy's relationship with me

I wanted a dog for a really long time. My partner and I (26/27years old) live together and can finally have a dog here. We adopted/rescued an 8-week old 3 weeks ago, so I think she's around 11 weeks now.

The first 2 weeks she was very calm and different; we were with my in-laws as we were on holidays for those 2 weeks in a different city, and brought her with us to our home after our holidays. I am her main caregiver: vets, food, treats, training, everything basically. I work from home, so I have it easier to do the main and majority of tasks. My partner does work 8 hours away, so he sees her much less.

My main frustration is the way she behaves around my partner versus around me. With me she's so chaotic: biting my feet all the time, barking/grumbling when I say "no" to biting me or stop playing with her, just in general overly chaotic and not showing affection either.

The moment my partner arrives she's lovely and listens when he tells her to not bite, doens't bark/grumble, looks like such a pleasant dog.

I know I sound so childish and I'm embarassed for writing this. It just makes me so angry because my partner doesn't do half of what I do, he gets her "easy" moments (post-nap, no zoomies) and she seems more affectionate with him. It makes me feel so bad and left out.

I know puppies don't feel hatred, I just don't know what to do and it has caused me to resent her a bit :(

How can I stop my puppy from running right in front of my feet (and biting)?

My puppy is 10 weeks old and is a mixed breed so I don’t know what breed she might be.

Every time I want to go somewhere in my house and my puppy takes as much as a glimpse at me, she will run towards me and go right in front of my feet as I am walking and bites on my toes. This makes it impossible to walk normally as I need to be extra wary of not stepping her. Sometimes it gets so bad I need to pick her up just so I can get somewhere, which she doesn’t like and struggles to get free or whines.

I’ve tried everything: if I distract her with a toy she will go to the toy for a few seconds and go back to my feet in front of me as I continue walking.
She doesn’t respond to “sit” when she’s so focused on my feet and even if I distract her and she sits, she STILL will go after me!
I wouldn’t mind her following me but the problem is she goes directly in front of me, making it so hard to walk or do anything 🫠

Does anyone know what breed my little puppy could be? (Mixed)

We adopted a puppy 2 weeks ago and I love her so much! I want to know more of her already, and am enjoying the puppy era (even when the biting drives me crazy sometimes). I know it might be hard or impossible to know just by looking at her, but does anyone have any idea of what breeds she could have?
They showed us the mother, who looks a lot like a “podenco maneto” and they told us the father was a Shih Tzu, but they aren’t completely sure and neither are we.

What do you guys think? She’s around 9 weeks old or so

Edit: we live in Spain

We desperately need help with biting! (9 weeks old)

My partner and I adopted an 8-week old puppy last week. She’s a mixed breed and is beautiful: she’s small and looks literally like a mini Saint Bernard (from the colors, though she probably won’t grow big).
She’s super smart and loving. There’s just a problem: the biting is getting so out of hand, especially when she’s over-stimulated.

The thing is, we are currently in my in-laws house, and we go back home (4-hour drive) in 5 days, so Friday 31 July. She’s been with us for a whole week now. She’s really good at potty (she goes just on her puppy pads as she can’t go out yet due to the vaccines) and at first she was pretty timid and would go beneath the sofas all the time.

Now she’s more confident (she even barks more now, at random things) and that has come with the bites too. I dont mind her biting papers or stuff like that, but she gets over-stimulated a few times during the day and it’s impossible for her to sleep. There’s way too many people in this house and there’s always noise going on. Plus my in-laws are always letting them bite them and even after pleading to not let her they like “playing” with her; they’ve never had dogs so they think it’s just fun.

But she drew blood from my partner’s chin yesterday and bit so hard my arm she wouldn’t let go :( she only gets super feisty when she’s tired/overstimulated and can’t regulate herself to take a nap, which is usually what she needs.

Im becoming desperate from being in this house and can’t wait to go back home, as it’ll be just my partner and I and I feel ill have mor control of her training. But for the moment does anyone have any tips to reduce biting people? Including feet, heels, hands, and arms. Or any body part!!

Just started my first dilator session

After a few months of postponing, I finally started using dilators as my PT recommended. Im using the Vagiwell set of 5 and the texture and whole package feels “safe”, if I’m making any sense. My PT was incredibly helpful and reassuring, and even though I can’t see her anymore because I moved to another province, she helped me feel much safer and less awkward regarding women’s reproductive health.

The only doubt I’ve got, and I wonder if anyone has experienced this too: I started with the level 1 dilator, the smallest, and it didn’t hurt to insert, leave it in, or do the movements. However, what I do feel is a very weird sensation when I pull it in and out without pulling it out entirely. It’s not pain, it just feels very strange. Like a sort of presence or pressure there? I don’t know how to describe it but even if it isn’t painful, that sensation gives me sort of “ick”, for lack of a better word? Like the feeling when some people hear nails on a chalkboard? If I leave the dilator without moving it or even if I do the circle movements I don’t really feel weird as I can’t even feel the dilator that much, it’s the sensation of it moving in me and feeling that pressure when it goes in and out that gives me a very strange feeling and does make me want to stop.

Am I making sense? I guess with time it’ll get better. It’s just hard to explain that right now what bothers me isn’t pain, it’s just the odd feeling of it moving in me.

Besides that and the mild cramping afterwards, it all went well! I am looking forward to progressing :)

I was doing so well until now :(

I’m 26, but since I was 18 I had the typical vaginismus experience: not being able to insert a tampon, painful sex, etc. I was always very frustrated about this, but when I had my first partner (my ex), it all went surprisingly well. I’m in a long-term relationship and am incredibly happy with my partner (we live together and have been together over 3 years), and we were even able to do stuff until a year ago. Im not sure what happened to my body, but it seems like one day it closed off and sex started becoming painful and nearly impossible. Thankfully my partner is super considerate and patient, but I’m having issues with Pap tests due to my HPV (I know, how unlucky).

I needed a colposcopy (NOT colonoscopy!!) and cervical biopsy done due to the high risk HPV the other day, and I cried from beginning to end, it felt like medieval torture. I was told to currently insert Papilocare vaginal gels every night for a month. The first 2 nights were fine, but today I tried putting the tube in and it was so painful, I couldn’t manage and became as frustrated as I used to when I tried using tampons.
In the end I managed, but it made a “pop” sound when it entered and the feeling/noise really made me cringe and kind of hurt.

I’m just so frustrated because I feel I had done some good progress with my vaginismus, I even thought I was “cured” of it, until now, which is my lowest ever point with stuff down there. I think my negative experiences recently with Pap tests kinda worsened stuff for me psychologically, and now I unconsciously tense it more than what I need to :( has anyone gone through this too?

I'm having a colposcopy this Friday and I need help calming down

I'm 26 and I've had the same type 51 HPV result for 4 years, since 2022 😞

Today I was called and they told me they had to perform a colposcopy, which has been schedueld for this Friday. I feel nauseous from the anxiety. For some context: I have a really bad case of vaginismus; sex has always hurt since the first time I did it, I've never been able to insert tampons without pain, and pap smears are always the worst of course.

I've been in therapy specialised in this and have also gone to physical therapy for pelvic floor. They have helped a bit, but I have not been consistent regarding exercises at home in fear of pain. So you can imagine hearing I need to have a colposcopy done was so disheartening for me. I was able to have nearly pain-free sex with my partner of 3+ years, but for some reason, for the past year sex has hurt so bad that we haven't been able to do it in months.

My pain threshhold down there is very low, close to 0. My ob-gyn knows about my situation and whenever she does pap smears she uses the pediatric speculum. :') But of course the colposcopy will require the regular tools. She said I could take 400mg of Ibuprofen and a Lexapro before coming to the consultation, but I feel it won't be enough. Lexapro helps me manage my anxiety but it doesn't really "relax" me like it does to most people, and Ibuprofen 400mg will be too little for me. They aren't allowed to use any sedatives as it's the public Spanish health service.

I just need some help or tips :'(

Gracias!

I feel I’m becoming a picky eater with time

I'm 26, female, and throughout the course of my life, I've noticed that the more I age, the less I find foods specifically coming from animals tasty, or desirable. I am not vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian by any means. I just noticed that over the years, I've started disliking certain foods and they are all animal products for some reason

For example:

I started hating hot-dogs just because of the sausage, at around 15

I used to love roast meat as a kid, and when I became a teenager I suddenly was disgusted by the texture. The taste was fine, just the texture irked me a lot and now I cannot eat it.

In my university years I started being disgusted by chicken, and now I can only eat it in certain conditions. It has to be fried or roasted, otherwise I find the texture gross and when I "remember" I'm eating chicken, it gives me the heebie jeebies. The same thing happens with eggs.

My most recent aversion and the one that has hurt the most has been Spanish iberian ham (Serrano ham). I live in Spain and that is a staple in most Spanish houses. I used to love it! But for the past couple of weeks I've seen the ham in the fridge and for some reason, I couldn't get myself to eat some. It's like my mind and my body was telling me not to. I forced myself to eat some and I almost threw up, I couldn't even swallow it.

It makes me so sad and it frustrates me because I know I used to love all of these (except for the cheese) and my body cannot eat them without gagging! I don't know what can cause this, if it's a condition, hormones, or what.

Also, funnily enough this doesn't happen with any fruit or vegetable. I love all kinds of fruits and vegetables and have never suddenly become disgusted by any of them the way it has happened with the food above. Do you think it has anything to do with them coming from animals, or what could it be?

What could cause sudden food aversions (especially with meats)?
