My Grandfathers Omega is back running.

Sent out for repairs just about two months ago. Case polished, new band, new Crystal and the date wheel had to be replaced as well as the stem. Any tips or things I should look out for to keep it running another 50+ years? It was his retirement gift after 25 years at Sealtest foods and is engraved 1974 on the back.

Just finished my second truck

Wanted to try a two-tone paint scheme. This is pretty much identical to the tow truck I just finished, so it was nice to know what would fit well and what wouldn't.  Fitting the cab on the frame was a bit of a pain to get it to line up with the bed. Other than that, it was a fun build; I spent more time on the interior this build and realized that the engines are fun to build but I don't care about too much detail on them.

Two Tone Paint Job

Trying out a two tone. Sprayed the white, taped off, sprayed clear to seal the tape the blue. The line came out pretty sharp just to get covered up by the trim.

I think I’ve got them all now. Missing anything?

I can’t seem to find any more Howard VHS’s that were released around this time.

First Attempt at Weathering.

About halfway done with this one. My rust didn’t come out like I wanted it. I should have done some more practice runs before this.

What a difference a crystal makes!

I had my dad's Citizen serviced and had the crystal replaced, I am very happy with the outcome! They are still working on my grandfathers Omega Seamaster which required a lot more work. I can't wait to see that when they are done.

Haven’t built a model in years.

I forgot how much fun it is. And it teaches you patience. Not even done with this jeep and I’m already planning my next build.

Howard’s Last Show....

I think he should do his final show on regular radio with the core group: himself, Jackie, Fred, Robin, and Gary. Bring in some old school guests and a few music acts.

I'd listen.

My most prized possession

I remember when I was in high school asking the girl at the concession stand if I could have it. She took it off her vest and gave it to me.

CEL while backing fixed (so far)

I use a 2024 Wrangler JL right hand drive to deliver mail in. Occasionally my check engine light would come on when I would back up. I narrowed it down to exactly when it would happen when I was out on my mail route. It seemed to do it when I would hit the gas a little bit harder. I changed my air filter to a K&N reusable not the oiled one and it seems to have stopped happening, which is pretty weird. The dealership couldn’t figure out what was wrong and it would go away after two or three start stop cycles anyway and didn’t affect anything else. Any ideas on what difference the filter made?

I found this sticker on a school bus in high school, mid 90s. Ive never been able to find any origin or anything related. Just a shot in the dark but anyone know what or when this is from?
