Parental relationship

Question for the FA, do your parent know of the specifics of ur relationship...particularly the struggles as ur attachment shows? Or do you have a good relationship despite a childhood trauma?

Just curious.

My ex has a good relationship with his. I know there was trauma but besides that he's has what one would say positive. I think they'd be disappointed to hear of his patterns.

nyc meal prep servics

edited - *nyc meal prep services*

I'm starting a fitness certification next month, and I think having a meal prep service is going to be helpful and time-saving. I've tried Factor before, but really didn't enjoy the meals. So open to any others besides that!

US Payments through Wise - HELP

Hi!

I usually order through FO, and they currently aren't accepting direct cc/debit cards. I'm actually trying to order from Meamo given they have a product FO doesn't have. But regardless having this issue. I'm receiving this error message, "when sending usd to usd domestically, send directly from your bank."

If I were to do a wire transfer directly from my bank that is a $30 extra charge. This is my first time using Wise, so I'm like am I missing something?!

Sick and Tired

About a year ago, I had 2 situations where I dealt with avoidant/unavailable men. My best dating experiences have been with men who clearly communicate their wants and needs, whether we stay together or not (not something that happened in either of these situations).

Further context, I had been dating heavily within the past year, so aside from these situations, I definitely was burnt out from dating.

Person #1 - the main culprit of a lot of my feelings. We dated the year prior for about 3-4 months. I ended things because I was dealing with their avoidant tendencies for a month, and wasn't going to put myself through something where their actions made me feel less than who I was. He ghosted during our last communication, where I was hoping he could use his words and talk about it. Fast forward a year, and we reconnected in person. Afterwards, they ghosted. I've never been so vulnerable, and laid it all out for him, and as on-brand...he ghosted.

*There is a lot missing from our story that I don't feel like adding (here is the tired aspect).

Person #2 - We dated for about 6 months. This was something I knew going into that it would stay casual, they were a lawyer in a Big 4 firm, and based on early interactions knew he couldn't meet me where I wanted. I'd say he wasn't so much avoidant but more of a situationship where we had open communication. He never shied away from a tough conversation, but his actions never met his words. So I ended things.

Both of these endings happened within weeks of each other, so I really hit a low. Prior to this, I've had my fair share of similar situations, and as someone who entered an era of intentional dating, it's just frustrating.

I haven't dated since then (so about a year), and I want to, but something that has grown in me is bitterness and a big o wall. I have 0% patience for any bs and I don't think I ever want to give myself to someone, as I would have previously. I know this is something I need to bring to therapy (I've been out of therapy for a couple of months, but hoping to resume soon), but I also don't know if staying home and letting these feelings fester is helping.

Opening the thread here for those who got back into dating after an avoidant break-up. Were you ready? Did you go in with unresolved feelings that ended up resolving?

Hi!

I started my search into pilates mat certification programs. My goal is contemporary style, but open to a program that has a blend of classical and contemporary.

However, I'd really love some in-depth feedback if you went through any trainings in nyc. I keep seeing "go with balance body because it is internationally known,"...I'm like okay and haha. Also would love to know if there was anything you considered when making the final decision besides costs, location, format, style.

I've attached those I've looked into so far.

*noting that some of these are cute add-on certs, but the overall goal being to have a pilates mat certification.

My sweet Vicky in early June 2025 (a few weeks before things suddenly went south), during treatment in August/September, and then 2 weeks ago at 6 months post radiotherapy for an adenocarcinoma in her nose.

She lost most of the fur on her face and it has grown back much lighter, kind of in a little halo. It’s very cute.

I’m considering doing a full post with pictures and explanations on the treatment and experience as I think it would be helpful for others who were desperately trying to find information, like we were. It’s just very graphic and upsetting to look at.

She still has a mass in her nose but can’t afford to biopsy it (after an expensive CT), so right now we’re just enjoying every day and hoping she’s got a lot of life left in her.
