Like most of my games, the Crusaders shine. Purge the Foe short board gets me across crazy fast. Took objectives early to rack up points. First two turns decide if Templars win; they do not have the staying power.
Distraction Dread got plowed by AT fire and punched out by his baby Dread. That was his role.
EC is a fucking weapon. Walking Exterminatus. Ten of his Terminators (Paladins?) with Banner and Apothecary got the charge and bodied the Crusaders. The EC, Castellan, and remaining Sword Bro whittled them down to the final three. EC tanked everything like a beast.
Jump Assault took backfield objective turn two for the points, easily wiping his Strike Squad. They then charged the Terminators from behind and saved the EC's ass.
Sword Bros got an easy objective charge out of the Pod. Got some points, then got shot to death.
RepEx has never done anything worthwhile for me. It once lost a shootout with a Riptide. It managed to tank shock a squad to death, then his Dread. I'm going to drop it for a 3rd Crusader Squad.
Grimaldus and his boys held strong on a side objective. The entire match ended up consolidating into a giant mosh pit of Castellan Crowe, the Squad he was with, his Terminators, and my Grim Squad along with EC and the Jump Bois.
We called it at store close and I was 13VP ahead. In summary, it's further proof that Templar rules are built around and used best with their supplement. Fast footslogging, early objectives, shock and awe. Once I had that momentum everything turned.
