Hey all. Having perused the sub before posting maybe this is a bit out of the norm and admittedly not as urgent or serious. So feel free to tell me to take a hike and I'll pull the post. I don't mean to offend.

My friend's son's class is doing a fundraiser to help pay for a school trip to DC. If ya like popcorn they're selling some assorted flavors and half the proceeds go to the trip. Figured I'd toss this out into the ether to help boost a bit.

Even if you aren't familiar with it. Ya didn't need to be. I guarantee they are robbing you of a fun and quality sci-fi series. All that were involved are those with proven track records and were all a part of the original shows in one way or another. The reports that it was narrow fan service is an outright oversimplification. It was a product of a worrying trend across all studios. On a fandom podcast live stream (Dial The Gate) today someone with deep industry connections has info that suggests Amazon and others no longer care about building a fandom. That they can skate by with broad, generic content. That sci-fi/fantasy is dead. That AI generated shows are the future (she suggested they have at least 3 that involve it still in the works). Even if you think "who cares about Stargate fans, I'm not one and I like X anyways". They'll come for whatever you love next and thats my point. These entertainment execs think people will watch any old slop. Its about short term numbers rather than building anything meaningful. Gotta start drawing the line somewhere. I also HIGHLY suggest you watch the original shows that are on Prime right now. That they started in the 90s does certainly mean it might be a rough start for some, but stick with it and I promise at least some of you will start to love it

I have a pile of old Video8 tapes to digitize. The existing camcorder that recorded them is still fully functional, but in an effort to get playback via s-video and thus what I understand is the cleanest signal for my Retrotink 5X (for 480i passthrough and TBC) connected to a Magewell capture device, I bought the TRV68 off ebay. I also bought separately an old stock but evidently unused Belkin svideo cable (Belkin Synapse F8C-265-06-SLV). To my disappointment, both video out options on the TRV68 seem broken. The sigbal that comes out resembles an issue with tracking. Super wavy, either black and white or just the wrong color entirely and at times the frame vertical scrolls. Trying the s video cable on my vcr proves the cable isnt the problem I think. The video i posted is from the ebay return process. Its been packed but if viceo if the issue would truly help let me know.

So I've arrived at the conclusion that it's the camcorder. The seller already agreed to a return but I wanted to see here if there are options I haven't tried. The seller suggested contact cleaner in the ports which I dunno if that's even smart to try. Considering just mailing it back and just using the original camcorder and its component only out, but any thoughts are welcome.

This person is commenting this same bs on almost every comment expressing love for the new map. What happened to just moving on and playing something else when a game isn't working for ya. That's not to say criticism isn't welcome. To a degree the complaints got us here and the new roadmap. But THIS isn't criticism. This is trying to convince people to be as miserable as you.
