Situation regarding overtime

Started a Job last week as a forklift operator, I’m on a temporary basis, they have told me overtime is optional and it’s not an obligation.
However I’ve already stayed last week and today was told loads of stuff that was needed to be done 10 mins before the shift.

Anyways, something has come up which means I won’t be able to do overtime for the next couple months as I need to be earning a certain amount and nothing above it.
Am I within my right to do this? There is nothing in the contract about overtime, but I’m already sort of feeling guilty and like they will want to fire me or not keep me on because of this

Any advice please, I will have to tell them tomorrow I guess

Looking to change careers

Im in the UK, and looking to take up something new which could potentially be a career at some point.

Im wondering where would be a good place to start, ie which materials and what to start off learning? I’m interested in making rings mostly.

I have been looking at courses and into doing n a level 3 jewellery making course and then potentially getting an apprenticeship or just trying to get an entry level job from there. I also thought it could be a good idea to do some of the short one day course where you just make a ring or something.

I would like to be self employed eventually, how feasible would this all Be?

Is anyone in the UK doing this as their career and how did you start and get going?

Is it normal for the man I work with to be this rude?

I just started a job last week, there is an extremely rude man who is apparently a Russian ex police officer.

Whenever I go to bring him anything he will shout ‘bring it here’, and then when I bring it to him there is no Thank you or anything, or criticise whatever ive done. Today it was i brought him something and he exclaimed what are you doing angrily.

I get if Russians are rude and don’t like to be polite but at the same if youve come to the UK surely you should learn to at least say please and thank you and not speak so rudely to people since that is not the culture here.

I don’t even know how to deal with him as he is making me angry and I can’t help but answer back to the way he speaks to me as I won’t accept being spoken to like shit. How do i deal with him?

Also unsure if it’s cos I’m a woman in a male dominated job.

Anyone who has gone through problem shared- can they give you stimulants and non stimulants at the same time

I’ve been researching and seen that you can take both at the same time and I feel this would be the best option for me, does anyone know if this is something they offer or is it one or the other? I’m currently on the waiting list for the medication which is taking ridiculously long anyway
Thank you

Interview for a forklift job on Monday

So I got my forklift licence last week and applied for a job which was looking for people with forklift experience, I applied for it but my CV clearly says I got my licence only in July.

Now I’m worried that they’ll be expecting more from me, does anyone know what I can expect from this interview and what I should be clued up on.

I’m also kind of worried about if I’ve gotta do an assessment on the forklift as obviously the certification I did was not enough to actually be a good forklift driver- like I barely remember all the stuff and now I’m worried I won’t remember stuff when I’m driving it.

Can anyone suggest me a name

Trans masculine, he/they
Apologies I posted here before, but I’m still not set.

Looking for a masculine or gender neutral name,
I’ve been going by Caolan as it’s similar to my birth name, but realised I don’t necessarily have to do that just to make it easier.

Been thinking a lot and I like Charlie but need more ideas

think I would like to keep with names beginning with C, but also open to hearing others too

Can anybody help with name suggestions?

I am transmasc , and would be looking for a gender neutral name to go by, finding it very hard to find one that fits me.

I have been telling people Caolan as wanted to stick with Irish, but finding out this can also be interpreted as a girls name so not really sure

Advice on taping pls

Tried taping for the third time today, I was in a rush and I also ran out of tape halfway through. This is after I had showered hence it being wet, but the bit in the middle of my chest was particularly itchy and how stretched out it felt kind of scared me and made me think it may rip or something lol.

Am I doing something wrong, I have like size DD so I know it’s gonna be hard to nail it but I really want to be able to wear tape for longer than a day without feeling like I need to take it off.

Idk if it’s also cos I’m neurodivergent and the feel of it is v uncomfortable to me, but wearing clothes with it is also euphoric so I want to get used to it

I want to try out a new name but finding it hard to work one out

My birth name is Caitlin so I have been trialling Caolan as it’s also Irish and a masculine version of my name.

As I’m trans masc he/ they im also thinking I could go for something more non binary sounding.

I don’t know whether to stick close to my birth name to make it easier.

Other ideas I have are

Cai
Kay
Luca (totally different lol)

But if you have any ideas which keeps it close and is gender neutral sounding I’d appreciate it

Looking to relocate

I am a 30 year old lesbian in the uk, I am looking to relocate but need some advice. I definitely want to go to the north, probably Yorkshire. However, can anyone recommend good areas with a strong lesbian/ queer community? I am not much of a party person and am also sober, and would preferably like to be in or near countryside, however I also would love to meet other queers and potentially will go for nights out to gain community.

Sowerby bridge is on my radar, or Sheffield- can anyone comment on these places for the scenes there?

Thanks in advance.

What to do

So I had put tape down to get crisper lines as someone recommended it, I used 3m 271 tape. When I was removing the tape the background paint came off and was white, didn’t really know what to do so I painted it with a sponge hoping it’d be the same texture but it just looks dumb af.

I’m freaking out now as I feel like the painting is ruined? Any advice on what I could do?

Also why does the tape pulling up never seem to work for me, I’m using sign paints. Am I doing something wrong or what?

Got an emergency appointment at my dentist today, and they’ve now referred me to to the hospital to get a full face scan so they can see my wisdom tooth as it’s far back in my jaw.

This could take up to a month now I’m guessing until I can get it extracted. Is there no way to get this done quicker as it seems urgent since there is a hole in my tooth and any bacteria that goes in there may pass to my other teeth.

Why does the dentist not have the Xray to see wisdom teeth?!! And has anyone else experienced this before, and how long did the whole process take start to finish?

Any advice is appreciated, I can’t really afford to go private which I’m guessing is the next option for speed.

Beginner sign painter here, I’ve just mapped out for my sign with shadows and now realising it looks very very wrong with the w, a and t all looking very far apart. All the letters were 3cm apart with the closest point of each nearest. I understand it’s because of the slant in these letters. What should I have done instead and what can I do to now change it??

It’s currently on tracing paper so I’m not looking forward to whatever way I’ve gotta make it right but I will of course, also any other tips about my general shadowing and map out would be much appreciated
