I’m trying to ferment some cigar leaves and the process is making my leaves very thin and transparent. My current process: Mist and bundle about ten leaves tightly in rubber bands and wrap them in a moist towel. Wrap a heating pad around that and run at 125f for 8 hours. What you’re seeing is about 4 sessions of that.

Has anyone encountered this issue? I’m wondering if the humidity is too high. It’s probably somewhere around 90-95%

Does the rule of thumb for nicotine content (lower leaf less / higher leaf more) apply to sucker leaves? Or can I expect them all to be low in nicotine due to the flowering that’s taking place?

I have some very small areas of mold on my cigars leaves. Mostly at the steam and some on the face of the leaf. Should I toss them all or is it okay to brush it off?

I’ve seen online some people would spray/ wipe with hydrogen peroxide/vodka/or vinegar.

Had a long stretch of 45-50% humidity and a lot of leaves looked like they were drying green. Recently we’ve had some high humidity which has rehydrated the leaves and it seems like they’re continuing to cure. It interesting to see some leaves turning straight from green to brown.

Trying two methods of hanging. Individual leaves hung back to front and groups of two leaves bundled as a hand and hung back to back. Curious to see if it will make any difference. Averaging about 80*f and 60% humidity in the garage.

I’m getting a few leaves here and there that get very wilted and thin. Almost translucent. I feel like I should toss these. Thoughts?

Is this normal? I’m opening the towel every morning and evening to reshuffle. A humidity sensor in the towel is reading 77* f and 72% humidity. Stacking face to face /back to back.

I have this weird grayish discoloration after a day of towel curing. Anyone else experienced this? Wondering if it’s damage from handling the leaves

Practicing drying with some ground leaves. The leaf on the left is dry as a bone (50% humidity outside). It dried in just a few days. Is it bad that it dried so fast as long as it ends up brown in the end?

I was hoping these would grow longer before budding but oh well they’re looking alright for a first time attempt.

This MKE has inconsistent ejection which results in FTEs. I noticed the ejector doesnt fully come up into the bolt slot and im thinking that might be related. If the ejector arm came up further it would get more purchase on the case. Has anyone ever shimmed up their trigger pack to get a more positive ejector position?

Or if anyone is feeling generous, can you tell me if yours has the same play?

Ap5 shooting Winchester nato 124s and blazer 124s has erratic ejection. I’ll shoot a string of rounds with perfect ejection and then a string with anemic ejection with a bunch of FTEs mixed in. About 700 rounds in and nothing has improved.

I replaced the extractor and extractor spring and the ejector seems to move smoothly.

Also put in a 100* LP

Also shooting with an HK mag

Has anyone had experience RMA through Century?

Just noticed this rail wear from maybe 8 FTEs..this is on a century during break in. Maybe I should upgrade my extractor and ejector?

It’s a shame that the best looking stock has the worst ergonomics. Saved me $300 on an MKE. I think I’ll stick with the magpul…
