Everyone complaining, are you in e-comm, or service based biz?

Was just curious. I’m a wedding photographer planning on getting back into Meta ads, but seeing so many of you saying how things have gone to shit is a bit concerning. So now I’m wondering, are most of you in e-commerce, or are service based business looking for leads also having issues?

Business profile disabled, can I just switch to a SAB?

Hi everyone, thanks for reading this.

So I've had a GBP for my wedding photography brand for at least 10 years in my home town of Chicago. It recently got disabled this past June, citing "business does not exist", with further information citing, "To keep data on Google as accurate as possible, Google uses information from different sources such as user reports and licensed content. If we determine that your business doesn't exist in the location you claim, Google will disable your profile.".

Side note, the "user reports" part is rather interesting, because indeed a few months ago, a ton of colleagues suddenly ran into the same exact problem, posting about it in a private group. There was actually lots of speculation of a fellow photographer who, finding herself in hot water for other reasons, was suspected of flagging the profiles of all her competitors in the area. Not my words, but interesting nonetheless. Especially that the GBP of my other photo brand unrelated to weddings, with the same address, is just fine.

Anyhow, the current address I have on the profile is from a co-working space where I was leasing an office from mid 2024 to mid 2025. I then moved to another state mid 2025 and just never got around to changing the address.

My concern is, while I indeed live in another far away state, I still consider Chicago to be my main market. So here are my questions:

  • It seems I can edit the info of the profile, change the address, add a service area, etc. If I just made those changes, would that suffice to get my profile back up? I doubt it, but maybe I'm wrong. I can't imagine Google would be okay with my personal address being in FL, with the service area being in IL, but then again, I've seen other people with huge service ares. Even my girlfriend just put tougher a GBP for a new venture, and was able to select whatever service areas she wanted.
  • The other issue is, the brand name of the profile is a sort of DBA. And especially considering the fact that I moved, I definitely don't have any recent mail that has the brand name attached to it. Is that going to be a problem? I worry I wouldn't be able to have enough for a video requirement.
  • On that same subject, I read some material about having to submit video that shows the service area of the business, which would obviously be impossible for me until the next time I'm there. Am I understanding this correctly?

I know this is a lot. Again, thanks for reading. Grateful for any insight anyone may be able to offer.

Thanks. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sanebox alternatives?

Been using Sanebox for about ten years or so, but I’m getting sick of it filtering out obviously important emails, and for the fact that emails are filtered after they’ve hit my inbox. I currently use Bluehost for my email accounts btw, along with one personal gmail account.

Are there alternatives to Sanebox that I can consider? For what they charge, I feel it should work much better.

Thanks for any input!

Been away for a while (XP11)…any “must have” plugins for XP12, or good on its own? (plus some other questions)

Hey everyone,

I used to be a huge plane nerd and was really into it. Life got in the way and it’s been like three or four years since I’ve used it. Last night, I downloaded the demo of XP12, and I can’t believe how well it runs on my M3 MAX MBP. I might even say better than XP11! Back then, I felt like having any sort of weather was impossible on a Mac. I can’t wait to try incorporating weather now.

Anyhow, I remember there being a handful of plug-ins that were borderline necessary to bring X-Plane up to a certain standard, so my question is, is that still the case at all, or is it good to go right “out in the box”? Are there any free or low-cost plug-ins that you would strongly recommend?

I also remember how popular the Zibo 737 was, and I understand it has become the standard out of the box. Are there plug-ins for it still to make it even more advanced?

Thanks so much!

Why did Garmin make timer countdowns this way?? 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

First photo shows selecting the time, shows 20 minutes around the bezel like a normal watch…super. Then you start the timer, and the bezel circle goes all the way around?? Why?? Why can’t it just count down from where it is when setting the timer on the first place like a normal clock? Am I alone here? Garmin, if you’re watching, please lord Jesus at least give us the option!

Recoil impulse from 43X to CC9?

Hi guys, just curious for those of you that moved from the 43X to a CC9, was the difference in recoil impulse noticeable? Is the CC9 indeed a more shootable gun? A recent range trip reminded me how snappy a 43X can be. Thanks to anyone for their input. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Trying to find video, 80s style parody, Miami vice white suit, shooting a handgun

I'm like 90% certain it was Brandon cause he has a pretty distinct look with the long hair and beard and stuff. I think he was dressed in a white Don Johnson style suit, running around with a handgun, shooting at targets. Funny camera angles, shots, etc. It was one of my favorite "gun YouTuber" videos and I just can't find it anywhere. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, it'd be amazing. Really hope I don't have him confused with someone else, but we'll see.

Super quick rant…

If I’m messaging in a text thread with one other person and the last text with them ended with, “Thanks, Dawn.”, and then I use dictation to respond to them, addressing them by name, the fact that it ops for “Don” instead of “Dawn” is just pathetic.

I swear, auto correction while typing and dictation was so much better in the early days.

Alternative Show-It Website Template Sites?

Just thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions for websites that sell Show-It templates for more reasonable prices ($200-300) aside from the common ones like Tonic Sites, Grace & Gold, etc with price points around $600-1200. Thanks!

How to clean alcantara wheel wrap without loosening adhesive underneath?

Hey guys, the top of my steering wheel is starting to feel a little tacky and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve had an Alcantara wrap installed on my 2015 X5 for about two years I think. The thing is, I’m not certain if the tackiness is the tape adhesive that has perhaps finally seeped through to the surface, or if it’s just oils from my hand (leaning toward the latter).

Either way, looking for suggestions on how to clean it without ruining or loosening the adhesive tape underneath the wrap.

Thanks very much!

Stopwatch or timer complication on main screen?

It’s probably the main major gripe I would have about Garmin watches. It’s kind of ridiculous we can’t see a stopwatch or timer function right from the main face. And I hate that if I do have one of those running, it forces in icon at the 12 o’clock position on the main screen, covering up other data that may be beneath it.

Does anyone know of a watch complication or something that would create the functionality I’m looking for? I use the black grid face, and it allows the display of other downloaded complications and apps.

If everyone has a solution, I would be so thankful. Thanks for reading. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Uh, did we just have an earthquake?

We live on the 8th floor of Aster and just felt some swaying, and observed some stuff swaying too. Never experienced this before in my life. Can anyone else confirm?

Anyone else lost power downtown? Anyone know why?

We live in Aster & Links, and we lost power about an hour and a half ago, but strangely enough, only to half our unit. Same goes for some neighbors in the building. Main hallways are okay. Management says it's a downtown wide issue. Seems like they're sending people home from the Wells Fargo building too. Would love to know why it happened if anyone has any info. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hourly drumset practice rooms?

Hi all, wondering if there are any music/band rehearsal spaces that have rooms with proper drum setups available by the hour. Just want to be able to play along to backing tracks solo and stuff, not a full band rehearsal. Thanks very much!

HVAC “growl” w/AC on, matches revs, 2015 50i

First of all, thanks for reading this. Trying to confirm my guess here.

Through a bunch of googling and searching, my guess and hope is that I just have a slow refrigerant leak. It’s a 10-year-old car with only 70K miles, and I understand that even a bit of a small loss of refrigerant is expected over that period of time.

This started around perhaps last November. At first, it would go away by turning off the AC. But I recently discovered that the sound also fluctuates based off the set temperature. At the lowest setting, like in the video, it’s not as bad as a sort of normal temperature like 70.

I also discovered that the sound is prevalent no matter what if I’m on ECO PRO mode. At least according to ChatGPT, it’s a variable compressor I guess, so I’m inclined to think that would track the low coolant theory if temperature or ECO settings are trying to modulate output.

My only other thoughts are that the compressor itself is going to shit, or maybe it’s an alternator thing. After a complementary inspection, one indie shop wanted to charge a couple hundred dollars to inspect pulleys and tensioners. I don’t suspect the blower motor because fan speed doesn’t affect the noise. Also, the fact that the noise matches revs leads me to believe something involved with the compressor.

Anyhow, if anyone has experienced this or has helpful thoughts, I’d love to hear it. Thanks again for your input. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
