Textorio - base building game demo!

Hello guys!

Just shipped to Steam Textorio demo. I would really love to present the ascii game, which is kind of niche game, because of practicaly no graphics, and lots of moving parts 😄

If someone can remember civilisation 1..uch, i wanted somehow to repeat same feeling, when i played on my very first 286 pc 😉

And it happened, more road to go, but, playable demo until first tier could be really 'playable'

Simple lovely base in the middle of green jungle

Hey guys,

Cosy little startup base in Textorio.

In short, connected offshore pump to watter, added boiler, few pipes, turbine, and got electricity to power inserters to feed pneumatic assembler. It works!

But i must warn you, boiler is so hungry for coal!

Enemies are still also, cant see me though so much green vegetations!

Demo soon ;)

Let's complicate everything with Textorio - ascii factory automation game.

Hello Solo Devs,

Real solo dev here. Been working for a while for the new game, Textorio.

Always loved ascii, low graphics, but pure vibe games. Decided to solodev a factory automation game, and boy ohh boy it grew up to the game, with lore, story, and real automation - complex automation!

Just wanted to say, i already have 182 wishlists on steam. Still early access.

P.s

The really fun part: hydraulic logic gates (AND, OR, NOT, XOR, MEMORY, DELAY) plus steam pressure with three performance tiers (30% / 70% / 120%). Players can wire a pressure sensor → AND gat → belt switch, and the factory starts regulating itself. Real automation, not scripted events. :)

Cheers,

Donaldas

Solo-built ASCII factory game launching June 11 — would love your eyes on it

Hey r/playmygame.

This is Textorio — a single-player ASCII factory automation game I've been solo-building for ~2 years. Steam approved the build last week, launches June 11, 2026.

The GIF above is ~7 seconds of late-game night-shift footage. Every tile, glow, glyph is text drawn to canvas.

What I'd genuinely value feedback on:

  • Does the visual language read clearly from a 7-second clip, or does it look too dense?
  • Would you click through to a Steam page from a GIF like this?
  • Anything in the UI (left sidebar = operator log + stats, right = build menu) that looks broken or unclear?

What's playable:

  • Surface, caves, deep caves, core chamber
  • Steam, electricity, fluids, hydraulic logic gates
  • Companion AI (MOTE) with moods + 3 modes
  • 5-chapter quest line
  • 1v1 LAN PvP (experimental)

Roast it, praise it, point at the weak spots — all useful with 8 days to go.
