she’s 6 months old, absolutely perfect cat, super gentle and respectful and never causes any trouble.

since i adopted her she loved curling up with me and letting me pet her and she’d nudge her head into me so hard it’s like she was trying fuse with me. she’d sleep by my side every night.

she also has no problem on her own, she’s great at keeping herself busy and shows no signs of anxiety.

last night she slept downstairs by herself. i just set up a new cat tree for her there so i figured she was just excited about it.

today she’s been noticeably distant. more or less the same personality but she wasn’t trying to hang out with me at all.

the only difference is i had put down some stickypaws around my tv because it’s super expensive and she kept getting behind it and wobbling it. she did physically see me put the tape down and then a few hours later she hopped up on the ledge and got uncomfortable quick

probably stupid but i was thinking she realized i booby trapped her and she’s mad at me for it.

she’s not being aggressive or anything towards me but when i go to pet her, she runs away pretty quick and she only came to me when i bribed her with a churu.

i love that she’s confident and independent, i’m just wondering what got her feeling some type of way today.

i liked her as a lap cat, she’s great company, and she isn’t running away from me or anything she’s just being a loner.

she’s such a sweetheart and so affectionate towards me but this onesie is bumming her out and i feel so bad for her haha

her only memories of me so far, i’m forcing her to wear this stupid thing for her own good and sometimes it feels like she’s looking at me like “dude, are you serious with this thing right now? why are you doing this to me?”

at least it’s only two more days, i hope she doesn’t resent me, hah.

it’s hard and awkward to make friends in our thirties.

we still like punk shows, raves, thrift stores, and cheap beer but also good food, exploring, and art.

i’m a music producer/dj (mostly uk style deeper dubstep but used to be a touring trance producer/dj and played guitar in a touring post hardcore band) grew up in jersey but transplanted to philly from NYC

my better half works at drexel. she’s an army vet from small town ohio, loves nu-metal, reggae, drum & bass, and emo. she would love having someone to work out with (or introduce her to a new hobby)

we live in the east kensington area off n front st, and like to wander around the neighborhood on the weekends, go to breweries, and we don’t pass up the opportunity to see some of our favorite bands and DJs when they tour.

we’re marxists, inclusive, 420 friendly and all that jazz.

we’re planning to go to submersion festival in september. trying to expand our network a bit, all of our friends are out of state.

one stage, one crappy ferris wheel, and a row of tents that the states had to spend tax payer money separately to showcase their history and another row of tents selling $20 cheeseburgers (when the power isn’t shut off)

my county fair has rides, tons of performances, and funnel cake.

if you’re a capitalist but you don’t own a home or a business, what do you get out of voting to make those who do own assets richer at your expense?

everything is going to continuously get more unaffordable for you. it’ll be less likely you’ll be able to afford a home. your wages won’t go up. a medical emergency will put you in debt.

the stock market will keep going up, property value will keep going up, rent is going to increase, and if the elite have their way, ai will automate all the jobs away from you.

america was the most prosperous when we had our most socialist government. FDR was so popular he got 4 terms and he did that by taxing the billionaire class 91% and using the money to provide labor and social spending on americans.

what do you personally get out of giving all the tax breaks to billionaires at your expense?

socialism is functionally a workers union. it’s a government that fights the corporate elite for you to have higher wages and good healthcare.

what we have, from both conservatives and liberals, is a government that prioritizes the corporate elite to funnel all of our money into the stock market to make the elite even more wealthy while tricking us into fighting culture wars with each other.

constantly voting for more capitalism makes inflation worse so that assets become more valuable while your wages become less valuable.

if you don’t own any assets, you’re on the losing end.

so what makes you put billionaire’s lives over your own?

elon musk, an illegal immigrant, has never made a profit on any company that wasn’t subsidized by american tax dollars and now he’s the world’s first trillionaire, meaning that that trillion+ dollars he’s valued at is money that isn’t being circulated in the american economy which makes everything more expensive for the rest of us.

for perspective, a trillion dollars is like making $1 million dollars every hour, 24/7, for 115 years.

the only two companies that were ever profitable for him were tesla and space x.

both of which we paid him roughly $40b out of our taxes to subsidize so he can play with rockets and build some average electric cars.

now he made space x unprofitable by using it to buy twitter (losing money) and xAi (losing a lot of money) and forcing us to put our 401k retirement funds into it.

all while telling us that the poorest americans don’t deserve any tax payer help at all.

bare with me, i just got back into the DJ world after a decade out of the game and unfortunately rediscovering rekordbox.

i imported a huge library and wanted to automate as much of the work as possible so i was pretty jazzed to hear that rekordbox can now analyze how you prefer to set your cue points and automagically set your whole library for the low low cost of $20/m.

i don’t set a cue at the beginning of the track because i just use the cue on the decks for that, i set my first cue 16 bars before the drop, then one on the drop, then one on the breakdown, then one on the second drop. easy peasy.

i decided to pay for a month so rekordbox can analyze my current library and then i can take it from there.

rekordbox decides to ignore all my preferences and do whatever it wants to do anyway.

hell, it even still only has roughly an 80% successs rate on mapping the beat grid.

i mapped a few dozen tracks by hand just how i like it, dragged them into the cue analysis folder, then analyzed my whole library.

rekordbox got every track wrong.

not only that, but it made 8 cue points when all my settings are set to 4. and the extra 4 cue points are redundant anyway, because they just overlap the first 4 cue points.

am i stupid or is rekordbox still as garbage as i remember?

i’m a producer first, DJ second, but i understand the DJ mentality. everyone wants to have their “secret sauce” and i know when i was DJing a lot, other DJs would typically be super secretive about their bins.

i’m not interested in distributing my music to streaming services or anything anymore. they’re way too predatory and exploit artists. i’d rather just sell my music directly to DJs on bandcamp.

the perk for a DJ means that if i make something that they really like, when they spin it, no one will be able to identify it and it could be their own “secret track”

just curious if my logic makes sense and if i should make an effort to advertise it.
