Belsize Park near Chalcots Estate?
I think I’ve found a place near Belsize Park station right next to the Chalcots Estate. Does anyone know what it’s like living in that area? I don’t really know it at all

Sorry in advance if this isn’t ok to post!!
I’ve been part of this community for a long time now and it’s really helped me through the ups and downs of living with my weight (CW: 143kg/315lb SW: 162kg/360lb). I’m about to start a masters programme in psychology/behavioural science, because I’m lowkey kind of sick of being told about my experience by people who have never even been chubby. I’m already thinking about what my research project should be for the year, but I wanted to throw it out to you guys and see if there’s anything you wish weight loss researchers would focus on or anything you think gets missed? My bugbear is how there never seems to be any understanding of what it’s like to bounce in and out of clothes sizing brackets. Sorry if that’s rambly! I’d really love to know your thoughts!!
Specifically birds you can find in the UK. I’m kind of hoping for a Duolingo style app, but I can’t find anything
The estate was built in the 60s. How would you update and improve the front of the house while also respecting the original design? I’m looking for inspiration. Particularly for the style and colour of the front door, the windows and kerb appeal
I just went up to the next dose of Mounjaro (10mg) and it’s done a real number on my brain. I’ve become so forgetful and my executive function is taken a dive. Nothing else has changed. I’m still working through the nutrition plan I have. I haven’t changed meds (except for increasing the Mounjaro dose). I’m still exercising. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a known side effect?
I (35f 148kg/326lbs) haven’t lost any weight in over two months. I take tirzepatide 7.5mg. I’ve been in deficit the whole time (I count calories religiously). My step count is about 6k+ per day and I do pilates for an hour at least twice per week. I really don’t know what to do

Really missing the exfoliation you get with the salux mitts at Korean style spas. It would be amazing to get something similar in London. We’re missing out on
I’ve been pretty disabled by my weight for a long time and it’s been frustrating to say the least. There were (and are) a lot of things I’ve needed help with because of restricted mobility/pain, but lately I’ve been feeling much more able and motivated to do more physically demanding things. Today I deep cleaned my bathroom, which turns out to be quite a lot of exercise haha. It only hurt a bit and I got a little out of breath at points, but I managed to push through and finish without even really taking a break. I feel weirdly triumphant and can’t wait to be able to do even more stuff and be a much more active participant in my own life!!!
I’ll be spending about three weeks in the Pacific Northwest soon and I’m really excited!! I have a rough itinerary with all the obvious stuff (Pike Place, Powell’s Books, road trip along the Olympic Peninsula, take the Amtrak Cascades, etc), but is there anything I absolutely have to do? I’m keen to make the most of my time there :))
I was really excited to start this book, as it had been really enthusiastically recommended by a couple of friends, but I’m so disappointed. I’m struggling with the writing style, I find it to be incredibly laboured, surface level and frankly a bit boring, which is pretty extraordinary from a book that clearly takes itself so seriously. Am I missing something?
I’ve regained 18kg/39lbs in 4 months, because there was an issue with my prescription for Ozempic that took a while to sort out, so went cold turkey unfortunately. Basically back to my starting weight (162kg/357lb-ish). I don’t really understand how this happened so fast tbh. Has anyone else had a similar rebound effect?
Our Maralunga just arrived and I’m looking for some inspiration. What should I pair with it? I’m thinking about introducing some tension and going for something that isn’t mid-century, but not sure what to go for. Would love some ideas!
I moved back to the UK a few months ago, so I’m looking at everything with fresh eyes. It’s just mad how green everywhere is. Trees all over the place, parks, gardens, hedges, verges, lawns and obviously the countryside. Inside cities as well as out. Everywhere you look there’s something green. I guess everything is looking particularly bushy and verdant because it’s summertime, but wow, I’ll never take it for granted again. I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed it tbh
Edit - I stand corrected - it’s actually spring. Sorry! The hot days have tricked me into thinking it’s summer already lol
Our garden backs on to a busy road. It can be quite noisy in the summer. Is there a way to block or at least diffuse some of the sound? There’s quite a tall wall there. Is it possible to plant something along it?
My weight is all over the place atm (just like the weather lol). I’m feeling so uninspired about what to wear everyday. I want a couple of outfits that I can just throw on and feel cool in. Would love some inspiration from other plus size babes. Bonus points if it transitions well from running errands to going for drinks!!
I posted here a couple of months ago about how I was really struggling with reverse culture shock after returning to the UK after years away. I heard from so many people in a similar boat from that post and they helped me to feel less crazy. The main thing I took away from it is going home is a massive physical, mental and emotional adjustment that takes a really long time. That said, I’ve been making an effort to note down some of the things I notice/appreciate a lot more since coming back. Here are some of them in a bit of a random order:
- has it always been this green?
- church spires/church bells are weirdly comforting
- birds, birds everywhere (birdsong is the soundtrack of the UK)
- probably will never readjust to it being light at 8pm
- volunteers and charities carry this country in their backs. I took a sick hedgehog to Tiggywinkles and they took it in, no questions asked. Asked a volunteer a question at Canterbury Cathedral and he was absolutely delighted to tell me lots of interesting facts
- the police here are pretty friendly and nice for the most part
- red brick and Rutland Stone are beautiful in golden hour
- I love the small talk, especially about the weather
These are just a few. I might add more later. I’d love to hear other people’s!
This squirrel has been staring at me for at least five minutes lol
Really lovely place to sit and take in the sunshine in Hoxton. The museum is wonderful as well!!
