How do I find the courage to book a hair appointment?

I've avoided the hairdressers for a decade now out of anxiety, but I want to book a consultation to get my hair dyed (I'm trying to get some more confidence in my appearance)

Weirdly, I'm more stressed out about the phone call to book the appointment than the hair appointment itself, how do you manage this if you go to the hairdressers? 😭 I really want to do this but I just feel paralysed when my hand is hovering over the call button...

The internet is already dead

I'm sorry is this is long (and I'm sorry if I'm just repeating what everyone says). But I just needed to get it off my chest

---

I'm finally quitting.

I came from a post that was clearly written by AI, yet not a single comment mentioned it. So I thought okay maybe I'm wrong. I kept reading, getting annoyed by the arguments in the comments and those I didn't agree with, until I noticed almost every single comment had the exact same writing style and telltale signs of AI. And I realised I'd spent the past 15 minutes getting riled up over AI bots arguing on an AI post

I've also recently noticed on reddit (and social media in general) a MAJOR increase of AI images and videos that I don't even notice are AI until a comment points it out. Just a few months ago I could easily tell what is AI and what is real and would laugh at those who couldn't figure it out. But I feel like everything has suddenly changed in the past couple of months...

I've always had a major social media/doomscrolling addiction, but the difference is that now I feel like I could be spending hours just doomscrolling AI generated slop, reading AI generated arguments, and I'd have no idea. And it feels so dystopian...

As well as everyone using ragebait to get views and clout these days (so everyone is already so much angrier than just 5 or 10 years ago), now AI is being used to make us even angrier. And I can't stand it anymore. I feel like dead internet theory is already real. I feel my brain rotting away with just 5 minutes on social media now. The internet is destroying society.

I'm quitting social media/mindless scrolling and I'm going to touch grass. I'm not letting the internet decide my opinions for me anymore, or my mood, or how I should spend my time.

Sorry for ranting, I hope that's allowed haha. Anyway, now I just need to adjust to the real world and figure out how to actually spend my time

Oh yeah and that also means I'm quitting reddit. So yeah, bye lol

Los Angeles customs delay?

Sent a parcel from the UK to WA state, been stuck in LA customs for 2 weeks now. Has anyone experienced these delays?

Also unsure whether I should attempt to contact USPS

How do I control the anger?

Perhaps I will never fully cure my misophonia and I will always just find certain sounds irritating. But is there a way I can at least successfully control the uncontrollable rage I feel? Because it's so emotionally draining.

How do I just accept that a sound is annoying without feeling like I'm absolutely boiling with rage and want to punch a wall and scream my lungs out?

Has anyone successfully achieved this?

Exhausted

I can't do this anymore. I wish I was normal.

I love my parents, but they are my biggest triggers. And it just makes it so much harder because I know I'm being an asshole, and I don't want to get annoyed at my parents because they've done nothing wrong but I can't help it

I've really been trying so hard these past few days to just accept the sounds instead of getting angry about them. But it's impossible. I've tried speaking to them about it in the past but they both seemed offended/upset so I can't mention it again. (Currently in 20s but cant afford to move out yet either)

I'm just exhausted, I'm so anxious all the time and I feel like such a horrible person. I hate this so much I wish I was normal just like everyone else.

How to respond to a friend who keeps sending me tiktoks/reels?

I have a friend who often sends me reels/tiktoks about random events and exhibitions that I'm not interested in in the slightest. I usually just respond with generic comments like 'that looks interesting'. But I've said that so much now idk how to respond anymore haha

Is it rude to just respond with a '❤️' or '👍' ?

Why am I so F*CKING CLUMSY

Every single day I drop something, walk into things, trip over things, bruise myself, clatter about and make everyone jump out of their skin. Everyone hates me for it and I'm REALLYYYY starting to piss myself off too

I can literally just be standing still, holding my phone while I'm looking right at it and it just slips straight out of my hand and crashes onto the floor. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

I'll be walking and see some kind of obstacle ahead and think 'oop better not trip over that obstacle' AND I STILL BLOODY TRIP OVER IT! I HATE MYSELF

I'm awkward even over text

I messaged an artist on Instagram that one of their paintings reminded me of one of mine - I meant it to sound like 'great minds think alike', but I think it came across like I thought they were copying me 😭 so I sent a whole spiel about 'sorry that came across wrong', but I just made things more awkward...

Why can't I even send a nice message without sounding like an asshole, what is wrong with me 😭 I was trying to get out of my comfort zone and just send a simple message but even that backfired

I keep thinking about it now and it's making me so anxious. Sometimes I think exposure therapy only makes things worse, there is no hope for me...

Is this happening to anyone else?

My page is showing no posts even though I have posted around 20 over the past few months. Is this just a temporary bug?

All I post are landscape paintings so I haven't done anything to warrant getting my posts removed (I've also had no notifications about it)
