Need advice for one and only 50mm lens for candid family documentary

I’m lost in over analysis (in my preferred order) between the following 50mm lenses, primarily for candid family photos:
*Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM
*Voigtlander Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.2
*Zeiss Planar 50mm f/2
*Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 II

Priority is some type of unique lens charm, portability, and affordability.

Deep down inside I really want a 50 Summilux, just don’t have the budget for that.

Is $2,800 USD a reasonable price for a good quality M246 Monochrom?

I have the opportunity to purchase a clean and excellent condition 246 Monochrom for $2,800 USD.

Is this a reasonable price in 2026 for this camera body?

Any particular things I should look out for when purchasing? My intention is to use it with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM (adapted to M mount).

Native Leica Looks profiles for M11 series?

Any indication whether native Leica Look profiles will be integrated into the M11 series lineup?

The concept of minimizing post-processing and using SOOC JPEGs, while keeping DNGs for archive purposes, is very appealing.

Any dads using the new XF23mm f/2.8 as a daily driver?

Dad with very fast and active kids here. Looking to purchase a X-E5 with the 23mm f/2.8 as a compact travel camera (to complement my larger Nikon Z setup).

Any advice or considerations you can share for using the 23mm f/2.8 for candid family documentary style photography?

My objective is to shoot with higher ISO, primarily in Acros (STD), and aperture priority to capture as much of the environment as possible. Subject separation is not curricula for me with this lens.

Dad looking for advice: Q3 (28) vs M11-P/M10

I previously owned a Q2, M10-R, and M11-D. Both the M series bodies have provided my family and I some of our favourite photos (all photos here were taken on both bodies). I sold the Q2 to get into the digital M series.

While the Q2 was good, it failed (likely user error) to provide the same speed of simply zone focusing and capturing the rapid candid shots I admire in family documentary. Subject isolation and shallow DoF is less important to my family documentary style, and I prefer to capture the entire environment in my framing/composition.

A comment from my wife about me being absent from all photos when using the M series forced me to sell both M bodies and I ended up moving to a Nikon Z system with a set of fast prime lenses.

Now we're expecting a new family member, and nostalgia and the same connection to my favourite photos is pulling at my heart strings. The debate now is while family photos are great, family photos with dad also in some of the pictures are even better (hence a camera that my family can also use).

I’m keeping my Nikon Z6 body and 85/105/135 and telephoto lenses, and have sold my 26/35/50mm lenses to pay towards a more compact family system.

I'm debating between the M11-P or M10 (my preference) versus the Q3 28 (my wife's preference).

UX is also important and this is why I've eliminated other camera systems from this decision (e.g., Fuji X100 and Ricoh GR series, etc.).

I’m struggling to make a decision between both systems and really want to stop flip flopping across other camera systems. Ideally, I’d like to be able to keep the next purchase for a decade (obviously recognizing potential tech failures and accidents).

Any advice?

Infantry vs. Combat Engineering: Which one is physically tougher?

Any advice and observations on which trade out of these two is tougher from a purely physical perspective?

Looking for inspiration: SOOC Recipes for GRIV for family documentary

I’m thinking of purchasing a GRIV for family documentary purposes, with no post processing or editing required.

Would be very helpful and appreciated if anyone could share their favourite recipes they use (with examples) for family and vacation snaps.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a chemical reason why ISO800 B&W film stock is not manufactured?

Jumps from ISO400 to ISO3200 on modern film stocks. Curious to know the reason for behind this.

Is it simply market demand?

Rejoining the CAF after favourable VAC determination

Served in the CAF for several years and voluntarily released a few years ago as I got bored with the CAF.

Received a favourable determination from VAC and now receive PSC and lifetime benefits.

Can I still reapply (and obviously disclose all my medical diagnoses) and attempt to rejoin?

Recommendations for auto mechanic specializing in truck and off-road suspension

Looking for recommendations for reliable auto mechanics that specialize in truck suspension.

Have a pickup that I would like to upgrade the suspension and hopefully have rebuilt for life (e.g., Fox; Icon, etc.) and also do upper control arms and the entire suspension system upgrades.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if Questrade plans on offering this registered account soon?

I both emailed and tried to chat with customer support and never received a reply.
