My mother was diagnosed with als in januaury 2019 (45y/o) after symptoms in late 2018 , those symptoms were heavyness in her left leg and she was not able to properly walk with that. After that on december 2018 she fell down and it progressed rapidly following swelling on her left leg.

June 2026 , she had trouble breathing , saturation went low and we knew it was phelgm stuck in her throat , at first we thought putting her on oxygen might help as we had a oxygen concentrator but idk what god wanted the plug was loose and we thought it was not working.
Tensed us rushed her to hospital , her sp02 was 26 , she was unconscious , she was intubated with a large pipe in her mouth.
She was like this for 4 days , on 5th day we went to a better hospital and doctors did tracheostomy followed by bronchoscopy to remove the mucus plug.
It was removed and we arranged a full ICU setup in home including 2 caregivers and everything needed.
Those caregivers had no experience because they lied and told us they were experts in managning those patients.
First night at home went well but the next day we again rushed her to the hospital because sp02 was declining again, went therr and they suctioned and all , replaced tubes and she went well.
They inserted centerline , regular injections , she was in a lot of pain but still didn’t let us worry about her and told us false things like she wasn’t suffering.
Her lungs started to white out again , fluids around lungs and severe weakness.
The night before she passed on 9th july I went to her and made her confortable to sleep , she blinked her eyes (our communication method that means yes)and I went outside because we can only stay for 2 hours in 24 hours.

We got a call next morning 5am to come fast , we went and they were giving her cpr.

Doctors said heart rate suddenly felled. I don’t know if it is true , I don’t know if she suffered , I don’t know that if she was aware of dying.Please share your exoeriences on how it ended. Is it usually heart beat drip or do patients suffer.

We never told her that she will die because of this disease.
That went very well for her and us as well because she lived without that stain.

My mother was the sole proprietor of our manufacturing business and unfortunately passed away on 10 July 2026.
Our raw materials are purchased at 18% GST, while our finished goods are now sold at 5% GST, resulting in accumulated ITC under the inverted duty structure.
We currently have around ₹18 lakh of GST refund/accumulated ITC. We had asked our accountant 3–4 months ago to file the refund, but he failed to do so.
After my mother’s death, the business continued regular billing under the same GSTIN because we were occupied with her hospitalization/death formalities. Her death certificate was also delayed and issued on 29 July. We have not yet informed the GST department.
My father has her Will and Power of Attorney.
Main concerns:
Can we still claim the ₹18 lakh refund accumulated before her death?
Can the ITC/refund be transferred to the legal heir/successor?
What happens to invoices issued after her death under the old GSTIN?
What should we do first: claim the refund, transfer ITC, get a new GSTIN, or cancel the old GSTIN?
Is there any risk of losing the ₹18 lakh due to a time limit?
Would really appreciate advice from any CA/GST practitioner who has handled the death of a sole proprietor.

There is so much more to share , she was so excited for my sister’s roka and now I have no excitement left at all , I lost 7 kgs during that time and she saw it from my face only and told me to go to gym and told me to eat more , she still thought for us till her last breath.
During her last night we were at home and around 4 am phone call cane from icu to arrive fast , our house is only 5 minuted away , that awakening was different, I already had tears in my eyes and I don’t know why was that , While we arrived she was unconscious and nurses were giving het cpr.she passed
I am so terrified writing this again , what was going on in her mind , was she aware of what was happening ? , She can’t speak but still she must have used all her force to call me to help but I was not there ? What could have happened? Nurses said she was asleep but they are wrong, I am so devastated , I want to cry everytime and I donot have courage to do anything , I donot want to eat good tasty meals , I need her again

My mother has ALS, and one of the biggest challenges she is currently facing is severe neck weakness and frequent head drops due to muscle loss. We have tried a few options available locally, but unfortunately there are very limited choices in India when it comes to good-quality head and neck support devices.

My sister is currently in the USA and will be returning to India on June 23, so I have a small window to purchase any helpful equipment and have it delivered before then.

I would really appreciate recommendations on:

• The best neck/head support products for ALS patients with significant head drop

• Supports that work well on normal home chairs (not only wheelchairs)

• Products that are comfortable enough for longer periods of use

• Websites that are reliable and can ship quickly within the USA before June 23

Also, while I have your attention, are there any other small ALS-related devices, aids, or equipment that you have found surprisingly helpful in day-to-day life? Since options are limited in India, I would like to take this opportunity to bring back anything that could improve her comfort, safety, communication, eating, mobility, or quality of life.
