Hi everyone, I was hoping someone here might be able to clarify something about OPGs for me.

I have two OPGs, one from 2013 and one from 2026. The more recent one was done because I have an issue with my jaw bone, and the intention was to compare it with my older X-ray.

Both were taken in Ireland, but at different dental practices.

When I look at the two images, the 2026 OPG looks noticeably bigger than the 2013 one. I was surprised by this because I assumed OPGs would be fairly standardised and that the size of the image/anatomy would be comparable between different machines.

Could the difference simply be because the two dentists used different OPG machines? For example, can different machines have different magnification or scaling? Or could it just be because of how the images were exported/sent to me as JPGs?

I've attached a screenshot showing the two files as they were sent/downloaded from the two dentists, as I think it makes the difference in apparent size easier to see.

I'll also put the two individual OPGs themselves in the comments (the actual JPGs I was sent, rather than screenshots).

I'm not asking anyone to interpret the X-rays or diagnose anything — I'm mainly just curious whether the two images can be directly compared in terms of size, or whether differences in the equipment/exporting can make one image appear larger than the other.

52 yo female, since last winter, I started getting this rash, mainly on my thighs, around my ankles and my upper arms. It was far more visible during the winter months, it's now quite faint but still visible.

Also when I am in a small room and suddenly the temperature gets too hot for me, in these moments I get extremely uncomfortable and the skin just above the knees and around my ankles gets bright red.

I also noticed recently that if water runs down my arms that my skin turns white and it forms a white streak down my arm. I did post about that on r/Askdocs, (link here, with photo - https://www.reddit.com/r/AskDocs/s/ha9LbrxiG3) got an answer that it was related to blood vessel constriction and that they thought it was benign but I did not mention the rash or that I have other symptoms and wonder if could be relevant if taken with other symptoms.

I never had that rash before, wondering if it could be vascular / auto immune related. I have other symptoms for years of extreme tiredness and whole over muscle pain.

I am more or less vegan, not by choice but because I have difficulties eating protein. Apparently this can affect and lower your Igf 1 level pretty dramatically. For the last 3 years I have noticed enlargement of my forehead, my browbones, my hands. I also have other symptoms such as feeling ill and joint pain. On account of possible bone growth, I was tested for acromegaly.

The blood tests were on the verge. My Igf 1 levels were tested on 3 different occasions over the last 3 years - 2 results were at the highest limit with one result actually above the limit. IGF-1: 274 ng/mL (Normal range: 59 - 238 ng/mL)

Random GH done last year: 70.5 mIU/ml (normal: < 20 mIU/ml )

I understand with acromegaly the results have to be way above the limit when mine were on the verge. However I would like my diet being taken into account in the circumstances, especially as my results are already high and the difference between a vegan diet vs non vegan seems pretty significant.

I am also significantly inactive due to ill health, which I understand is also a contributing factor in having lower serum IGF-1

But this knowledge doesn't seem to be part of my medical team and they are refusing to take this into account. I would like them to take these into account and would also like them to pay more attention to my symptoms.

I would like your opinion/ thoughts on this, thank you.

F52, no drinking/no smoking/no medication It happens every time water runs down my arms, like when I wash my hands or do the washing up. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I don't think it was happening before, I only noticed it in the last year or so.

Sorry picture quality is not the best, there was nobody to take a photo for me, but the white line was far more obvious and visible in real life.

I am not 100% sure about this but I don't think that water temperature (whether hot or cold) makes a difference. The line stays for quite a while, like 10 to 20 minutes.

52 yo female, non smoker, don't drink, no medication.

I wasn't taking a picture of how my vein looks like, I hadn't noticed it looks like this and it doesn't look like this all the time.

This is the left side of my neck. Actually I had noticed sometimes when lying down on my left side I can hear a 'tak tak tak' noise (at least 3 times faster than hearbeat) which I had thought was perhaps some kind of muscle twitch but now I wonder if this is related.

Also in case this is related, when I massage my knees they get very white and stay white for quite a while.
