First time buying gold bars. Need some advice.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to start collecting/investing on gold bars. It's mostly for personal collection but I want to be able to sell it in case of emergencies as well. Does the weight matter in this case?

I'm hoping to collect 1 gram bars so I can collect more designs but will these be more difficult so sell?

Thanks!

Need help identifying this item

Hi everyone, i'm not really familiar with bags/luggages but I was hoping someone here can help me identify this.

My wife recently gifted me this briefcase from Tumi but I can't seem to find any information about in on the internet. I was hoping to have it monogrammed but not entirely sure if it's even legit? She mentioned she bought it at a Tumi store but I can't see any listing online.

Best card for Mabuhay Miles

Hello, I'm looking to focus on PAL as one of my airline program and was looking for the best credit card that earns mabuhay miles.

Is BDO's AMEX Explorer the best card to apply for? They have the most straightforward earning rate at Php 30 = 1 point and redemption is at 1,000 points = 1,000 Mabuhay Miles.

Other banks seem to have a better earning rate but the redemption rate is not as good. (Even PAL's own credit card with PNB has a Php 38 = 1 mile if i'm not mistaken)

Not entirely familiar with all the credit cards available so hoping to get some insights. Thank you!

Am I understanding it correctly?

I just received an email from Chase offering "0% APR on balance transfers through your billing cycle that ends in July 2027".

I just want to clarify, so if I transfer a balance from another card to this Chase card, I can just make minimum payments until July 2027 without paying interest on the transferred balance, correct?

For reference, I do have the money to pay all my cards in full but if I understand this correctly, I can technically put that allotted cash on a HYSA/CD to earn some interest until I have to pay the transferred balance in full next year? If so, Is this an ideal thing to do?

Can I close this card with negative miles?

I was about to close this card until a refund I wasn't expecting hit my account and put my miles to negative. I already transferred out all my points. Can I still close this or do I have zero it out first?

Travel Portal question

Has anyone tried booking this type of fare on the travel portal before? If so, is the cancellation process really easy as they say it is?

I have some travel credits that are about to expire so I'm planning to use the portal instead of booking directly with the airline.

Thanks!

Train Schedule

Hi, we are considering taking the Amtrak for the first time from Buffalo to New York. We were wondering how reliable this train schedule is?

We have a flight from Newark airport at 9:56PM so we have around 6hrs of "layover" time in New York. Is this enough time to account for the train delays?

Thanks in advance!

Weight limits for carry-on

Does anyone know why airlines in Asia have a strict 7kg carry-on weight limit while airlines from western countries don't (or never enforce it)? Even full-service airlines like Singapore, Eva Air, ANA, etc enforce them.

Whenever I travel to Asia they always weigh my carry-on at check-in and put a sticker/tag on it. But in the US or Europe, they don't really care as long as it fits the overhead bins.

At first I thought it was another source of revenue for them but they don't even offer the option to purchase extra carry-on allowance so I'm genuinely curious about the reason behind this.

Flight Credit Question

It's my first time booking through the portal since I still have the $300 credit. My question is, if I book the United fare that allows to cancel for flight credit, does the credit go to my United account or with CapitalOne?

If with CapitalOne, do you have any experience on how to use it? (Is it like a regular travel credit or can only be used for United flights?)
