No Buy / Low buy

Hi! 🤍

I am going on a no buy and it made me curious if any of you are doing that too? :) I would love to hear about your editions!!

I have been trying low buy but moving more towards my edition of no buy - starting today and first part goal is the rest of the year:

• I am going on a complete no buy on beauty products like skincare and makeup, I have enough to sustain for a loooong time. The only exception of necessities like shower gel and toothpicks since I'm not sure I have enough for the rest of 2026. Also haircolour but that's like one or two until the new year.

• Complete no buy on stuff like home decor, books, dvds, kitchen appliances etc. My only exception is that I am giving two pieces of furniture to my nieces and will buy the replacement for that.

• Clothing will be only be if something necessary breaks and cannot be repaired. But otherwise I have what I need for my current size and the upcoming seasons + most pieces for a size down.

• Takeaway and stuff like that, no exceptions.

What is not included at all:

• Gifts for birthday and Christmas and experiences (cinema, concerts etc).

I know some would say this is not really a no buy hence why I call it my edition. 🙂‍↕️

My goal with this is to save money as 1st priority and 2nd is to pay some extra off debt, but honestly my savings account is hungry. 😆

Could any of these work?

Hi! 🤍

I am going to my first Copenhagen Pride this weekend and for once wants to do a bit more makeup than usual (normally I wear mascara and blush). I have an eyeshadow primer from Essence that works well for me but I don't have anything to secure my base to look good during the day.

My skin is dehydrated and tends to be oilier (but I do my skincare well and can help that a lot) but last time I tried a primer that was mattifying, it made my skin look not great. I am usually not good with primers, which is why I'm looking at setting sprays instead.

I have seen these two online a lot and they fit my criteria of being vegan & cruelty free! So you think either of then could work for me?

Hope it makes sense and thank you in advance ❤️

Thinking about adding this - anyone have review on this serum? 🫶

Hi! 🤍

I am currently fixing my routine to be better for my barrier after trying some less barrier focused products for a little while. My skin can get oily, is sensitive, sometimes lack some glow, struggle with redness and can get acne breakouts.

I was just browsing a bit in Sephora today and saw this vegan friendly serum, thought it looked interesting but don't really know if it's good? :)

I am currently using:

• Dear, Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser

• Innisfree Green Tea Ceramide Milk Barrier Essence

• Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen (am)

• Byoma Moisturizing Gel Cream (pm)

I also have a pack of SKIN1004 quick calming pads, whenever my skin needs a calming boost. 🙂‍↕️

Empties review (23th July - 6th August)

It's only been two weeks since I last updated but my temporary storage for my empties were full! I decided to share it earlier and I feel like I did a good progress. 🫶

From upper left corner to lower right corner:

• Klairs midnight blue calming sheet mask ~ One of my absolute favourite masks, it calms and cool my skin! I still have 4 left but they will be saved for special occasions. I will take a break from sheet masks afterwards but if I had to buy again, I would definitely go for these.

• iNuik Calendula complete cleansing oil (sample) ~ I have tried this before and it's fine but not a favourite for my skin. I wouldn't buy the full size after trying several samples.

• Purito Mighty bamboo panthenol cream (sample) ~ I actually had this in full size but gave it to my sister, didn't feel like it was a proper fit for me. It is a decent cream but will not buy for now, maybe will try it again if my skin's need changes.

• Haruharu Wonder Rose PDRN firming serum retinal (sample) ~ It's nice that I got a retinal sample since I wanted to see if my skin could tolerate it! Sadly it wasn't a succes but it felt nice as a cream. I would not purchase this.

• Fussy shower gel (coconut milk) ~ I liked it for my body, very gentle. I prefer something else for my armpits though during heat wave. I still have two left in two other scents.

• SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-cica ampoule ~ It was a bit too thin for my face and ended up using it on my body instead (spray bottle). It felt so great on my body and it almost tempted me to repurchase it for that reason. 😆

• Garnier moisture bomb eye sheet mask ~ I was surprised I liked this and ot stuck well to my face. It was on sale for like $1, otherwise I had to plan to buy it. I might buy again if I feel like an eye mask (normally prefer from Rhode).

• SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella soothing cream (mini) ~ it is soothing but if you have dry or dehydrated skin, I personally don't think it's a match for being a standalone cream. Good underneath sunscreen though. The mini lasted me a while. Currently no plan to repurchase it.

• Isntree ultra low molecular hyaluronic acid toner (sample) ~ very thin but felt nice, definitely didn't make my skin feel "heavy" after using serum + cream. I have just bought another toner but I might try this in the future.

• SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Quick calming pad ~ These were recommended from a sweet redditor and it's definitely a favourite of mine! They are calming and feels pleasant on my skin, lasted me a while. I have already bought a new pack!

• CLEAN perfume strawberry fields (30ml) ~ I love the scent but didn't feel like it lasted long enough. I will not repurchase but will go for another scent from CLEAN.

• Rhode barrier restore cream (mini) ~ my only issue with this cream is the price! I think it works so well for my skin and I prefer it for evening or days home. I might repurchase it but I have some others to use for now.

• Klairs Gentle black facial cleanser (mini) ~ This is one of the few cleansers my skin can tolerate (besides Common Clouds, Geek & Gorgeous and Rhode) and I think it's the best match of them all! It was recommended by a kind redditor and it just works so well and never made my skin feel dry afterwards. I have already bought the full size.

• Sandawha organic Lemon Hand Cream ~ First of allz this did not snell like lemons but more like "old lady". :( I bought it due to the scent and it was disappointing. I didn't like the consistency either and there are definitely better hand creams out there. I will lot repurchase this.

My latest little haul ✨

Hi!

I'm just too excited to not share my latest purchase and I'm just looking so much forward to upgrade my routine! I had issues with my skin barrier a while ago and have been waiting for it to be able to add some products. I'm grateful for what have been working until now! I know there are fancier products in the market, sadly a lot of them contains actives and/or exfoliants that my sensitive skin seems to dislike.

My skintype is oily, sensitive, dehydrated, struggle with redness and acne prone.

My new products are:

• Beauty of Joseon Glow deep serum - I have used this before and it does take a bit to work but I stil remember the luminous glow it gave me, even my best friend noticed it. I hope I can reach such a glow again!

• Beauty of Joseon Light on serum Centella and vita C - I only remember trying the mini before my issues with the barrier and my skin seems to be fine with it. I hope it can give me some benefits from the vitamin c.

• SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella ampoule - At first I forgot that I have tried it but suddenly recalled that I did try it last year and my skin did react well to it. I will use this after cleanse and before one of the other serums.

• SKIN1004 Quick calming pad - I just finished the first I bought after a kind redditor recommended it and I loved it! It even had a positive effect when I had an allergy flare up on my skin. They work so well for my skin. I primarily use them like a sheet mask once in a while.

I will make sure to introduce them one by one, which is also one of the better things I've learned thanks to Reddit. 🫶 The rest of my routine is primarily Dear, Klairs products and currently a non K-beauty sunscreen.

Anyone have tried this cleanser? Would love your feedback! :)

Hi!

I'm thinking about trying this cleanser, whenever I need a new one, but would like to know if any of you fellow skinbarrier defenders have tried it? If yes, what did you think about it?

1st month of panning

The day I re-made my Reddit account, I decided to Pan. I had already decluttered products to either my sister or recycling but still had some stuff left to pan. :)

❤️ = products I liked so much/will repurchase

💔 = products I didn't like that much/will not repurchase

From top left:

• ❤️ Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming sheet mask (×2) - my absolute favourite, still have a some left in my stash. Will be used for special occasions. Will gladly repurchase.

• ❤️ Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing tencel mask - also absolute favourite, will definitely repurchase!

• ❤️Purito samples (bamboo panthenol and sunscreen) - will not buy they weren't really a fit for my skin. Seems fine enough and happy I tried them! :)

• ❤️ Rhode lip treatment (Strawberry Glaze) - I still have a few others left and if I still like them, when I'm done panning, I will repurchase.

• ❤️ Elou cream deodorant in Lemongrass - My go to from this Danish brand, currently panning another deo but will return to this one. Love the scent and caring texture. This is my third empty of this deodorant so far.

• 💔 The Inkey List Omega water cream - I didn't like it in my face but did like it on my body. Will not repurchase.

• 💔 the three face masks from Miraque (glycerine) and Garnier (pro-retinol and hyaluron) - they were all fine but the fit and effect of Klairs just felt better. I will not repurchase but if gifted, I would enjoy them.

• 💔 Mixsoon Soybean milk pad (×3) - I bought a ten pack and well... They are fine but I got tired of using them in the long run. I ended up using 7, giving 3 away.

Replacements:

• The Inkey List Omega water cream => Face Facts ceramide Moisturising Gel cream (using on body, didn't like it on my face)

• Rhode lip treatment (Strawberry Glaze) => switching between Caramelized Banana and Watermelon Slice (day). Also using the lip boost in Sugarmint (night).

• Elou cream deodorant (Lemongrass) => Australian Bodycare tea tree oil deodorant + Dove whole body deodorant (can't remember the scent)

My absolute skincare heroes 🤍

I have been on the hunt for products that works on my sensitive skin. It's been a long journey but I'm finally reaching a point where I have what fits my skin. To be honest I wish it was a more minimalistic but at the end of the day, it is way better to have what works than continuing "waste money" on the hunt. I might be able to downsize in the future, hopefully.

I know some might say "you can get serums etc that is multifunctional!" but I haven't had my luck with those, sadly. This is not the finished amount of products - I need a new micellar water and I decided to try out an eyecream. I may switch out one of the serums with a retinol kind of product in the future.

An important criteria of mine is that my products must be vegan & cruelty free. 🤍

_______

The list:

• Dear Klairs Gentle black facial cleanser (this is the mini, just bought the regular size)

• Dear Klairs Supple preparation unscented toner

• Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum (hydration and calming redness)

• Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum (vitamin c serum, for glow and even skin tone)

• Dear Klairs midnight blue clearing water cream (for summer and vit c days. A substitute for this is Common Clouds Cloud Jelly but I prefer this one most)

• Common Clouds Cloud Screen spf 50 (acne prone friendly)

• Common Clouds Cloud mist (for acne treatment since it's gentle enough for my skin)

• Common Clouds Cloud Barrier (night cream for barrier support and colder months)

My first little win - letting go with a lesson!

I know several people might tell me to do Project Pan and I already do that with products not shown in the picture. The things my sister could use is also not included. :)

This is a personal win - letting go of stuff that is a result of influence and trends, not really through influencers but the "majority of people online" AND learning a valuable lesson in the process. Teaching myself to be aware that I, even though I'm usually not interested in trends, can be influenced too. This is a step in my way of living a life with less unnecessary consumption.

I am doing a decluttering project at home; I live in a smaller apartment and even though I am definitely not in "overcomsumption final boss" stage, I still know I have consumed more than enough. Today I decided to go through the bathroom items and a good part could either be repurposed (project pan), gifted to my sister or is something that works for me. :)

This is the leftover (the picture) - the stuff that didn't work for me at all and that won't fit my sister or can be repurposed in a good way. Instead of just throwing it out, I decided to go through the basket and teach myself a lesson about my own consumption.

I asked myself: How did this end up in my home, why does it not work for me and what can you learn from that purchase?

To summarize that long thought process: partly influenced on "you have to use this to do proper skincare, etc" even though I knew it wouldn't fit my skin, partly joining in on hype and excitement (like "Omg I like this product, have to try the rest!!!" and being in a 'community' with the same mentality) without mentally grounding and thinking it through. A little percentage was sadly an unexpected breakout to a few things that I thought would be safe.

So, Yeah, sorry for a wall of text. I am also sorry towards Mother Earth for my unnecessary waste and want to do better from now on. :)

Let's share routines! 🧴🧽

Hi there! 🤍

First of all, thank you so much for everyone who wanted to share their Holy Grails, it was really interesting to see what you beauties likes! 😄

It made me think about routines and got ke curious about how yours looks like and what you use currently!

So, if you feel like it, it would be great to hear about:

• Your skintype and concerns (always optional of course!)

• What if your routine like - this can be described short & simple or detailed, just how you want to!

• Bonus if you want to add specific products you are using. 🤩

I will start:

• My skin type is sensitive, acne prone (hormonal, I think) and dehydrated. The latter makes my skin oily if not treated. Also struggles with redness.

My routine is the following:

Cleanse both AM (single cleanse) & PM. Currently testing out new products, if they are not a hit, I will go back to Geek & Gorgeous cleansing balm + Common Clouds Cloud Wash. I do also have a micellar water for the days where it was to be simple.

• Pat skin dry with a clean cotton cloth, then it's time for my toner from Dear Klairs - Supple preparation unscented toner. I use this both AM & PM.

Serum for the AM I use Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum and for PM or days I need a vit c break, I use their Rich Moist Soothing Serum.

SPF (AM) currently using Common Clouds Cloud Screen, next up is from Dear Klairs (can't remember the name). During PM I use a cream, currently testing out a new one but otherwise I have used Common Clouds Cloud Barrier. I also do like the Purito oat-in-calming gel cream.

I do also have pimple patches and a Hypochlorous Acid Spray to treat acne.

What is your Holy Grail(s)? 🌟

I just returned back to the best toner for my skin, after trying a bunch of others, realizing that they didn't feel as good at this one from Dear, Klairs. I just did my skincare routine a bit earlier and in that moment, when applied, my skin felt ✨ happier✨ - I must say this is my first HG product. 💕

It just made me think about your HG(s) - what product(s) is the best for you? Would love to learn more from the skinbarrier warrior community. 🙂‍↕️ Share as much as you want to!

My first KNY figure 😍

I've wanted to collect a few figures for like a year and decided that it was time to get started! I have bought them all second hand, since it's the easiest way to get them for a good price :) I've never had figures in the manga/anime category, only a few from LoTR and Witcher.

Sabito is one of my favourite minor characters, I was happy to find him in such fine condition.

Thoughts on these? (Skin1004 products)

Hi!

I have been looking to improve my skincare routine and it seems like my skin approves of Skin1004 products. :) I found these on Yesstyle and curious to know if they are good?

My skintype is sensitive, dehydrated (which makes it oily), struggles with redness and sometimes get some blemishes (used to be way more acne-prone).

Vegan K-beauty cleanser + vit. c serum

Hi!

I'm currently looking for a new waterbased cleanser and a vitamin c serum. I'm very interested in K-beauty and already use some products from SKIN1004 and Purito.

The brands I am looking through right now is *Purito* (From Green Deep Foaming cleanser + vitamin c serum), *Dear, Klairs* (Gentle black facial cleanser + their freshly juiced serum or mask), and *Torriden* (dive-in cleansing foam + cellmazing brightning ampoule).

If you have tried any of those products, or maybe have another suggestions, please feel free to share! :)

Which one should I get? 🤍

Hi! 🧚‍♀️

I'm currently using the cleanser from Rhode and I love it but not the price and shipping time. I have been looking for a new cleanser and nailed it down to these two, since they fufill my requirements (1. Being able to remove spf too and described as non-stripping, 2. Vegan & cruelty free, 3. cheaper and faster delivery time). So far, so good.

I just would like to know if any of you have tried one of these and what you thought about it? I am aware that they are two different kind of cleansers. :)

My skin type is; sensitive, struggle with acne-prone and redness. Gets oily when dehydrated and maybe a bit during the day but nothing bad. I have micellar and a cleansing balm for the few days I wear full face makeup, but mostly I just wear no makeup or minimalistic.

Thank you and have a lovely day 🙂‍↕️🤍

E.l.f. melting Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm (Island Colada) - Possible scent dupe? :)

Hi!

Sorry I can't post a picture but I just saw this lip balm from E.L.F. with a scent that sounds like Colada and looks like there's shimmer! I haven't bought it yet not tried the product (waiting for payday) but just wanted to let you know in case 🤍

My current routine and a bit of skincare journey

Hi! 😻

I joined the sub a while ago, on an older account, where my situation was... Well, not great. I've always struggled with my skin (sensitive, acne-prone, redness and dehydrated) but one day, my skin suddenly reacted badly to everything - when I tried using a Centella product (never had an issue with that before!) my skin burned and was reacting for DAYS! :(

Anyways, after devouring all the wisdom from this sub, I figured out what to do and restarted everything. I began with the Swedish brand Common Clouds (focus on acne-prone skin and skin barrier friendly products), then Rhode (went with the mini kit) and both helped me heal my skin! I decided to add and switch out some products and after months of a very simple routine, I can actually use Centella again!! 🤩

I just wanted to share this and a picture of my current products - of course I forgot my hypochlorous acid spray + pimple patches from Common Clouds and my makeup remover 😅

My plan is to add a serum for the acne part of my skin issues and I just found one that I want to try (new product, waiting for it to be released) whenever its suitable to add it. :)

I've already learned so much from this sub and I'm looking forward to learn more. 🤩
