Will I regret reading the Assassin’s Blade after Heir of Fire?

So I am flying through Crown of Midnight and don’t have The Assassin’s Blade ready at the library (but HoF is there). I am on a super tight schedule and trying to fit as much reading in before the semester starts as humanly possible. I’m so tempted to dive into HoF once I’m done with this book. I know the sequence for the prequel is widely contentious but I was hoping for some feedback on reading it after HoF.

Has anyone discovered a way to journal that feels therapeutic?

I struggle with overwhelming and intense emotions and have tried journaling numerous times. I can never seem to write fast enough and I end up more frustrated than I started. I have a therapist that I adore which helps tremendously, but I was wondering if anyone had discovered something that helps them feel less overwhelmed. TYIA🩷

Moving up Anki reviews?

I am a HEAVY Anki user, but have a big life event coming up where I want to keep my cards to a minimum for the day. I average ~800 cards a day, and imagine I will have ~500 due that day given the current place we’re at in our curriculum. I was wondering if anyone has experience with moving up their reviews and kind of how that works? Is there some way to make one specific day lighter (aside from editing your settings to make a specific day of the week lighter, I know some people do that on weekends).

Best book to read on honeymoon

Getting married this summer and looking to pick which series I am going to read during the honeymoon! I want something with one of the best romances around. These are some of the things that are high on my TBR

- Lightlark
- Throne of Glass
- Rain of shadows and endings
- Empire of flame and thorns
- Lady of Darkness
- Heartless Hunter
- This Woven Kingdom
- A tongue so sweet and deadly
- The Prison Healer

Catering Dilemma ($7K)

We planned to do Chipotle, but after reading up on other people’s experiences, there’s a theme of skimping on portions. We have ~85 guests. A few ideas:

  1. Stick with the original plan to cater Chipotle but order 100 portions worth (we’re on a budget so that’s the hesitation with doing this)
  2. Ordering 85 individual bowls from Chipotle (we’re would talk with the location ahead of time and tip generously)
  3. Cater Panda Express (good prices, we like the food)
  4. Cater Noodles and Company (again, good prices, we like the food)

Any opinions or experiences with any of these is welcome!

We are about 2 months out from our date and RSVPs are starting to roll in. We’ve had a number of them from extended family that I’ve never heard of on the grooms side and it got me panicking a bit. Our guest lists are pretty uneven (his being 3x the size of mine) and so I was already nervous about not knowing people.

For context if it matters, I’m autistic and usually do really well in social situations but the idea of being the center of attention freaks me out. I’m also a super non-emotional person so I already feel uncomfortable saying heartfelt vows in front of a lot of people. He (my fiancé) is my best friend and honestly the perfect match for me and I’m so excited to be marrying him, but I’m starting to dread the day itself. Any words of wisdom or advice?

I’m currently in book 2 (A torch against the night) in the ember in the ashes series by Sabaa Tahir. I really loved book 1 and felt it was super well written and unique. I’m about 25% done with book 2 and struggling a bit. It just feels so….depressing. The writing is still great, but I use reading as a treat (in medical school, so my daily workload can be taxing) and I don’t know if it’s just not the right fit at the moment. If anyone can weigh in on how the series progresses and if they recommend continuing or stopping, I would love input. TYIA🩷
