Does anyone have a singular brick?

I'm putting a bird camera outside, it's more likely to stay if I have something heavy to anchor it to rather than use one of those flexible tripods. I've got a screw and brick drill bits, so I'm just gonna drill the screw into the brick so I can mount the camera.

I swear to god that's what I'm using it for. It just seems silly to buy one brick.

Mom's moving up to be closer to my family, looking for neighborhood suggestions!

My 60yo mom is retiring and deciding to move up to NYC to be closer to my family. She visits frequently and we know the city life fits her well. I've lived in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Kew Gardens and Ridgewood and have a passing familiarity with Forest Hills, Jackson Heights, Prospect/Sunset park, and the Coney Island area.

I want to expand our search more into Brooklyn, or perhaps the north Bronx, so I'd love to know your thoughts on neighborhoods that fit her needs:

  • Walkable to a grocery store (~4 blocks)
  • Some bars and restaurants
  • Older demographic
  • On the quiter side

Thank you for any suggestions!

Edit: Looking to rent, budget around $3000 for a studio or 1bed which is why we're largely looking in Brooklyn.

ISO 1-bed or studio for 6-month sublet or lease takeover, $2300 budget, ideally furnished, South Brooklyn

Hi all! After setting my roots here 12 years ago, my mother is moving up to be closer to our family. We're looking for an (ideally furnished) sublet where she can settle into city life and spend more time finding her ideal neighborhood and a more permanent home. The wishlist:

  • Studio or 1 bed
  • $2,300 month max
  • Ready either July 15 or Aug 1
  • Minimum 6 months
  • Furnished (optional but preferred)
  • Sublet or takeover must be landlord-approved

We're looking in Brooklyn, specifically South Brooklyn because I've lived in that area and we're already familiar with it. We're also open to Queens, the closer to Ridgewood (where I am) the better.

Furnished rental database suggestions?

After I planted my roots in the city 12 years ago, my mom has decided to move up as well. She's looking to get a 6-12-month lease someplace furnished while she adjusts to city life, in any borough as long as she has ready access to a train line and it's realistically walkable to a grocery store. Her budget is $2k for a studio or 1bedroom.

I've never shopped for a furnished reantal before and have heard conflicting reports about Furnished Finders. Are there any other websites you've found to be reputable? Any advice on looking for furnished units specifically?

Woke up crazy early to get a spot for me and my camera at the parade!! I wanted to share some of the photos I got of the players, I'm very proud of them!

Josh Hart is my favorite and I sacrificed giving him a high five for that first shot. It was worth it.

Edit: I uploaded the wrong Bridges edit, final one in the comments!

Watching LegalEagle's new video on the Salem Brick Trials and heard something familiar! Obscure laws episode when??

The argument he's making is that he may call LEGO "legos," but at least he's not fucking up the capitalization in the comments.

Did the Blip-A also have carved records like the Hail Mary?

I went back to take photos but to me these brief shots were meant to parallel each other. What do you think?

I had the pleasure of being a photographer on Joco Cruise this year and wanted to share some photos I got of Jiavani and Oscar!

Jiavani killed it at the Celeb Karaoke and they were both wonderful in the group improv show! The second photo makes her look like a supervillain so I'm very partial to it! (You can see these and more on my insta @ ashford.photos ❤️ Also mods I apologize if this isn't the right flair, I'm not sure what 'cast stuff outside of Dropout' falls best under.

Hey all! My fiance and I will be getting married next year and we realized we don't have any photos nice enough to put on our Save the Date postcards. We're looking for a photographer local to the area for a half-hour shoot in one of our favorite establishments (Bonus Room, Deep Cuts, Ginny's, Low Cinema) and deliver 3-5 photos. Happy to talk budget in DMs. Thanks!

Little Cupcake has been my favorite bakery for over a decade, but I’ve never used them for more than a birthday cake. Has anyone used them for a larger order such as multiple cakes/sheetcakes? How was your experience?
