Is there any chance of more than 3 refunds per month for incomplete journeys

Writing this for my international student girlfriend. She told me that she kept getting large charges on her bank card by TfL and she didn’t know why. I immediately concluded that it must be incomplete journeys for not tapping properly etc.

Set up a TfL account for her and connected her card. Lo and behold, she has a massive 24 incomplete journey charges since July - not sure how but that’s what it is.

We know exactly what these charges should be and where she has travelled to/should have tapped out. I’m genuinely not sure how she managed to get out so many times - assuming it’s because she finishes work late and the gates are all open by the time she gets to her home station.

I note from the website that you can only claim 3 refunds per month, and I appreciate why these exist. But I wondered if there is any way we can request more refunds given the scale of the problem.

Thank you!

Aggressive start stop - faulty or normal?

I drove my mothers 2020 BMW 118i (F40) yesterday and am really confused with the start stop system. For context, I drive a 2014 118i (F20), which also has a start stop system.

Whilst I find the start stop system annoying in general in both cars, my older F20 seems to at least act normal and only cut out the engine when I actually stop in traffic or lights. The newer F40 seems to have an incredibly aggressive start stop where if even if I’m at a junction for a second, it cuts out. The engine cuts back in very quickly and at no point do I feel like it’s delaying me, but it still feels really odd and aggressive to cut the engine out for a second every time i stop at a junction.

I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and know if this is the ‘new normal’ for newer BMWs?

Taking annual leave at the start of TC

Two of my closest friends are getting married in Italy in September and I was planning to go for 3 days but I may also be starting a training contract from September at the same firm I am currently a Paralegal at. Would it be seen poorly if I took 3 days of annual leave 2 weeks into my training contract for it?

Does anyone else HATE lit up badges?

I just don’t understand why car companies like VW and Audi have started lighting up their badges on the boot. That badge looks horrible in brake light red! Just looks like a car advertisement at night.

How to turn off spotlight search when pulling down from Dynamic Island

Just updated to iOS 27 PB which is running amazing. However, I have noticed that now when you swipe down from the Dynamic Island area on any screen, it opens the Spotlight Search menu instead of notifications. Notifications only open if you swipe down from the top left.

Does anyone know if this is a feature or a bug? And if a feature, how do I go back to it pulling down to notifications instead.

Best way to predict tomorrow’s Agile rates

I used to follow the Octopus Agile Predictor (@agilepredict) account on X a prediction of the next day’s rates but they seem to have gone silent since ending May. I wondered if you had any other suggestions for this.

Can the BBC iPlayer app on Apple TV 4K stream live UHD? I can definitely do it on the iPlayer app on my Smart TV but can’t seem to do it on the app when using Apple TV.

Choosing one between dental check up or hygienist appointment

I have a work cash plan which provides an allowance for dental care. The allowance amount would cover either a dental check up or a hygienist appointment, but not both.

If I had to choose one, which one should I go for?

Background:

I already had a hygienist appointment last year and am an occasional smoker/vaper/use nicotine pouches. Therefore I’m leaning towards the check up, but would appreciate any advice.

You can’t withdraw cash using a contactless Revolut card (via Apple Pay) at ATMs because it’s “disabled for security reasons.”

Can someone explain this? I thought Revolut was supposed to be more advanced than traditional banks, not restricting basic features with vague excuses.

I’m currently in Spain without my physical wallet and really needed some cash. It turns out contactless ATM withdrawals don’t work with my Revolut card added to Apple Pay, and there’s no obvious way to enable it in the app.

I ended up using my Monzo card via Apple Pay on a contactless ATM without any issues.

I get wanting strong security, but forcing people to carry a physical plastic card when we’re trying to go wallet-free feels like a step backwards. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a setting I’m missing, or is this a known limitation with Revolut?

Would love to hear if Revolut plans to fix/support this properly.
