Is Revolution Plus recommended for an indoor cat?

My two year old cat has never seen the outdoors a day in his life. Last year, we did a round of Revolution Plus for tick/flea/heartworms. The vet gave us a prescription, but I’m wondering if this treatment is truly necessary for a healthy indoor cat? Thanks in advance!

Dehydrated pickles?

Not sure why I’ve never thought of this and have also never seen it in this sub, but why aren’t dehydrated pickles a common thing?

After some brief googling I did see that people do this, but very surprised this isn’t top of the list. What’s your experience with dehydrated pickles?

I’m wanting to do this as a chip, not a seasoning, so let me know your thoughts!

Should I dry off my jerky before dehydrating it?

It’s sitting in the marinade now, should I pat dry before putting it in the dehydrator?

Is it better to cook jerky “low and slow” or at 165° for a few hours?

I’ve made about five batches of beef jerky so far, and I haven’t been completely satisfied with any of them. The flavor has been good, but the texture and consistency have been disappointing.

The common denominator is that I’ve dehydrated every batch at around 165°F for 4–6 hours. I’m starting to wonder if I’m overcooking it by using too high of a temperature for too long. The confusing part is that just about every recipe and guide I find online recommends that exact temperature and time.

I have another batch marinating right now that’s going into the dehydrator tomorrow. I’m considering trying a lower temperature for a longer period—maybe around 135°F—but I’m not sure if that’s safe or the right approach.

Does anyone have tips or tricks for getting a better texture? I’d really appreciate any advice because I’m getting frustrated with how my jerky keeps turning out.

Looking for a restaurant/bar/venue that can accommodate 25 people for a reservation

Hello all, I’ve reached out to multiple places trying to reserve a (preferably) private space for 25 people. Every place I’ve tried either doesn’t take reservations, or they want to charge me $1,000+ for a reservation. The only requirement is the place we go must serve food and drinks. Other than that, I’m not super picky.

Do you know of a place that can handle this request? We don’t want buffet style and don’t want to be charged for the reservation. Everyone will be ordering food and drink separately. Thanks in advance!

Picky eaters, I come here begging you to believe me…

Pho, a Vietnamese noodle/soup dish, is a picky eater’s paradise. It might look intimidating, but pho is the most flavorful and delicious dish a person can eat. If I had a nickel for every time I introduced a person to pho who was previously hesitant, I’d have $.75

I’ve never heard anyone say they don’t like this dish. Please try it at your local Vietnamese joint. If you don’t like it, direct message me your Venmo, and I’ll reimburse you for your order. That’s how confident I am you’ll like it

Snoopers Rock Proposal

Hello all, I’m considering proposing to my girlfriend on top of Snoopers Rock in Chattanooga. I’m from Atlanta and have never been there, but it looks absolutely breathtaking in photos. I’m coming here to ask you Chattanoogans everything I might need to know about making this perfect.

It really does look like I can’t go wrong here, but I do have a few questions…

  1. What time of year / day is the best time to go? I’m reading that sunrise is the best time. I would love to be there with the cloud inversions, but that might be luck of the draw

  2. Would my 4Runner make it to the parking lot closest to the lookout?

  3. Is there typically a large crowd up there?

  4. Does the park close during hunting season, or is it accessible year round?

If there’s any other tip or tricks you have to offer, I’d love to hear them. Thanks in advance!

Gibbs Garden in Ball Ground Goegia

Hello everyone, I’m scouting out areas in Georgia to propose to my girlfriend. I’ve come across Gibbs Garden in north Georgia, however, their website says “no professional photography”.

I find this hard to believe as this is a beautiful location for a proposal. I’m going there on Wednesday to speak with them and see if this location would be a possibility, but wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with this.

Also if you have any other recommendations for a beautiful proposal location in Georgia, I’m all ears! Thanks for your help! 💍

Does the Chattahoochee River have otters?

Specifically in the Atlanta/Metro areas. I don’t associate Atlanta with having river otters

Why don’t all pho restaurants have garlic chili paste?

Garlic chili paste is my absolute favorite in pho, but it seems like only a small amount of places offer it. All of them have the chili oil which is fine, but it doesn’t compare.
