PU hostel. Where should I buy hostel essentials?

I'll be joining Pondicherry University as a hosteller soon, and I have a few doubts about buying hostel essentials. Since I'm coming from outside, I don't want to carry bulky items like a bed, mattress, pillow, bedsheets, bucket, mug, and other basic necessities if I can buy them after reaching.

1.Is there a shop inside the campus where I can buy these essentials?

2.Or is it better to buy them from shops outside the campus?

  1. Which option is cheaper and more convenient?

  2. Are there any nearby supermarkets or stores that students usually prefer?

Girls staying in hostel, pls help a first-time hosteller

Hi girls. If any girls staying in the hostel happen to see this, please share some details.

I have been a day scholar throughout my life, and this is going to be my first time staying in a hostel, so I'm a bit clueless about what to expect.

Could you please let me know:

1.What are the essential things/stuff I should bring to the hostel?

2.Are there any items that are not allowed? (Specifically)

3.What are some things that you found absolutely necessary after moving in?

Also, if you have any tips or advice for a first-time hosteller, please do share.Thank you

Doubt regarding migration certificate

Hi everyone....I completed my ug degree at a local college that is affiliated with a university. I am now going to join a pg at pu, and they have asked me to submit a Migration Certificate.

I'm confused about where I should obtain it from. Should I get the Migration Certificate from my college or from the university to which my college was affiliated?

If anyone has gone through a similar process, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Idk what to do? Also I'm very confused

Hi everyone

I'm a science graduate (non-tech background) with a decent CGPA, and I'm going to join an MBA in Finance at a tier-2/tier-3 college

I'm also planning to pursue either CMA or CFA alongside my MBA

My concern is whether my undergraduate degree will affect placements, shortlisting, or career opportunities in finance. Most discussions I see are from commerce, engineering, or economics graduates, so I'm curious about how much a science background matters in reality

I'd appreciate an honest reality check from recruiters, MBA graduates, or anyone working in finance. Thanks in advance
