Subreddit logo idea part three (final update)

I'm not gonna do any other iterations of this. If you don't like any of these, whatever. No matter what I try, some will say yes to it, others will say no. I can't please everyone. If none of these get used for the logo, I really don't care. This was a fun project to practice my photoshop skills. Maybe I'll re-use this logo elsewhere. Like always, criticism is welcome.

Ideas that were suggested: Center the cymbal better, add a brush, xylophone/bell mallet, remove the triangle beater. Some of you wanted sticks and mallets, others did not. One even suggested adding random aux stuff in the middle (I chose not to do this option, as it would be too chaotic IMO).

What I did: Added Becker Blues, changed the color of the marimba mallet to blue to keep one color mallets, added a brush. Each version has a text option too (r/percussion). A blank one with no logos or text is included here as well.

Subreddit logo update #1

I removed branding. I also added a snare stick, marimba mallet, timpani mallet, and a triangle beater. Second image, I added the text r/percussion.

I'm always open to more suggestions and changes.

I tried my best to remove the zildjian logo. It's still slightly visible. Let me know if that's an issue.

My new EDC setup.

Leatherman Rebar, BPS flashlight, and for right now a simple BIC pen in this sheath I got off Amazon. Any recommendations for a pen that gives off outdoorsy vibes?

I wanted to include some sort of mallet percussion but it just didn't work well with the rounded shape unless I included a crotale. Any improvements on this? Should I add text?

Colossal russet in with the 70 count box.

Regular size 70 count potato and banana for scale. That thing weighed 2.385 pounds!

Who else loves UCO sporks?

I have too many of them. This is maybe half of what I have in total.

Where am I in Naperville? Easy-medium

Hint: a place lots of people love next to a place people seem to hate.

I see a green backpack, I buy a green backpack.

My favorite color is orange but I do love the army/moss/woodsy green color for bags. Any time I see one thrifting, I feel the urge to buy it. Five are thrift store finds, one was purchased in-store and two were bought via Amazon.

  1. Eddie Bauer Cargo: purchased today at Goodwill for $1.99. Tons of compartments, especially in the front. Light-medium wear towards the bottom. I don’t have a use for this one yet.

  2. PFConcepts with a UPS logo. Also goodwill. Has a vertical front pocket which is ok, but not my favorite. Two straps towards the top allows me to clip stuff/carabiners. Water bottle slot could’ve been slightly bigger. I carry my lunch and other few work items in here when I ride my bike (to work).

  3. Fjallraven: also recent goodwill find for about $4. Nicely made, canvas. I need to wax this. Few stains but overall very nice. No use for it yet.

  4. SOG MOLLE: Also goodwill find. Slimmer bag with options to attach pouches and the like. I also use this when riding my bike just for fun and for hikes too. I have a sitting pad (not pictured) that fits thru those straps on the top. I also have a solar battery bank that hangs off the bag.

  5. Also SOG MOLLE but larger capacity. Amazon purchase. Its current use (or not using it just taking up space in my room) is my wilderness/bushcraft survival kit.

6&7 are similar backpacks. #7 I bought at Meijer on clearance. It’s their Lake and Trail brand. It’s made of canvas and has tons of sweat stains. I wore this when riding my bike all the time like ten years ago. I wanted a replacement but Meijer discontinued it. So I found a similar looking and bigger bag on Amazon. #6 is more spacious so if I’m doing grocery shopping for a few things, riding my bike there, I’ll take this one. (Purchased Amazon).

  1. Jansport. Also goodwill find. Pretty simple look. Standard bag. Originally was my gym bag but now it’s holding all my disc golf discs (I don’t play very often so it’s hung up taking up space.

Which do you like the best?

For St. Patrick’s Day, we ordered a bunch of cabbage, carrots, and red potatoes. I’d say at least 20 on the cabbage. For context, I work at a smaller store but we still get good foot traffic. Well, the meat department ran out of corned beef the Friday before and wasn’t getting any more in before the holiday. As such, nobody was buying any cabbage. So we had an insane amount left over. (Like two full shopping carts and maybe six other cases). This is the last case I was going through today: a month and a half later. As you all know, you just gotta peel off all the bad leaves/layers until you hit nice cabbage. So it wasn’t a total loss. For anyone curious, we wrap ours since we don’t have a wet rack, just a simple open face refrigerated case.

The black shelving sits just below waist height and most customers (aside from kids) would be looking down primarily to look at the product. Should I face it so all the text on the lids are facing the same way or the front/side labels are facing the same way (as shown here)? Does it really matter?

Imagine this: It's a few months post shtf, whole societal collapse, yada yada yada. Due to unforeseen circumstances, you have to evacuate town and find a place to live elsewhere. You haven't used or started your car in forever because you were hunkering down at home. If you had to go somewhere, it was close enough just to walk or ride a bike. As such, the car won't start: Bad battery, old gas, other issues, whatever it may be. Which raises the question: Is it worth to "steal" shopping carts from stores? I see homeless people with them and I think it's a great way to transport your belongings if you don't have a vehicle. I do understand I won't be taking all my belongings if I had to evacuate. Only what's most necessary. Unfortunately lots of stuff will have to stay behind. It could also be used like an improvised wheelchair of sorts for those who are weak or get tired from walking. Obviously, I won't steal any now... But if there was a last minute panic buying fiasco, I would snag some then. Would you? Also, what other uses are there for shopping carts? (I saw a pic of a shopping cart on its side used as a grill/bbq lol).

- All simple controls are physical buttons and knobs (volume, fam speed, temperature, AC, defrost)

- Gear shifter is an actual stick rather than a dial (or even buttons some cars have today)

- Smaller touch screen primarily for Radio, displaying time, and navigation

- Headlights that are LED but not as bright as the sun

- Overall look and design features make it look like it was made in 1990, despite manufactured today. Edit: that or maybe early 2000s look.

- More color options: Red, burgundy, maroon, orange, burnt orange, bright yellow, yellow gold, gold, lime green, Kelly green, forest green, army green, sky blue, royal, navy, Columbia blue, purple, pink, grey, silver, brown, tan, black, and white

- Options for heated seats, sunroof, and other configurations without needing a subscription

- Easy to access parts, especially in engine bay, making repairs and servicing super simple

- Affordable; costing you anywhere from $15k to $20k Edit: Much cheaper than your average car today

I’m looking to get some fake plants as decoration around the house. I’ve never actually purchased anything like this before. Where should I start looking? I’m sure it’s pretty obvious and I just am not thinking. lol.

I’ve heard great things about this brand but never spent the money on one of their backpacks. While shopping at goodwill, I found this for $4. A great buy, as these bags cost $100+. One small stain on the bag, but otherwise in great condition for probably being used. Do you have/use this brand?
