Best seat covers for heated and ventilated seats? Lexland/EKR

Looking for good seat covers for my 4 runner. Right now, I’m debating between EKR and lexland. I’m getting the ORP so it has the soft tech with heated and ventilated seats, but I wanted covers to keep them looking good and free from tears, scratches etc especially because my dog will be in the car fairly often. If you have EKR or lexland let me know if the sets still work! Haven’t been able to get a clear answer. Other recommendations are welcome :)

What do you dislike about your new runner?

Patiently waiting for my ORP to come in, I put a deposit a few days ago. Hopefully will be here in 2 months or so. I know everyone thinks the 6th gen is expensive, and don’t like the new powertrain but inflation is a thing, and if you can afford it who cares! Idk much about engines and stuff, but from a bit of research the engine isn’t ‘new’ and has seemed to be reliable thus far.

With that being said what do you dislike about your runner? Are there any little annoying things, are you happy with your purchase? Please include trim level as well! :). Additionally, are there any add ons that you appreciate having?

Explain mods to me like I’m a 5 year old

Just placed a deposit on my ORP. I plan to enjoy stock for a while, but I’m sure I’ll want to mod it in due time. I love the big tire look. I will rarely go off roading if at all because I’m already a shitty driver and don’t want to mess up my paint lol. What is a common tire upgrade? Should I add shocks/lift and suspension upgrades?

Can someone please tell me what a good build is for bigger tires, but a smooth ride (as smooth as it gets lol) that won’t tank my MPG. also, because I’m getting a black vehicle I plan to ceramic coat and wash every other week at the touch free/hand wash stations. Is this a good idea? Feel free to put your builds below, and if possible tell me why you chose the mods you did and how they affect your car! Prices would be helpful if you’re comfortable sharing. Thank you!

Those of you that put a deposit down on a new vehicle, how did it go?

I recently put a $1000 deposit (sales manager said it’s nonrefundable but sales rep told me it was, and they say nonrefundable to scare people) on a 4 runner because I’m very specific about color, trim and specs on it. It’s a ORP black, with moonroof, dash cam, digital rear view). We negotiated the price, I paid and went on my way with receipt and signed deal sheet.

I’ve never placed a deposit on a vehicle before, as prior to this experience I just bought a car on the lot. Because the dealership gave me a good discount, it’s in my best interest to sell my current car to carvana as Toyota couldn’t give me what my car is worth. As I got home and thought about it, I don’t have a VIN number for the vehicle. They provided me with a different vin on paper to the correct vehicle just different color and my requested specs not there. Im just curious as to how this process works? I know Toyota does not allow people to ‘build’ their cars.. I was told the wait would be between 1-3 months. Im super excited about this car! I hope I really do get it at the agreed price. Would love to hear your experiences and wait times. Thanks!

Rail dust on a new car?

This picture is from a car salesperson. They claim the spots are rail dust, and the price can be negotiated further due to the damage if I want to take it home. My question is if it’s worth it to get a discounted car, then pay a professional detailer/auto repair place to fix the damage. When I look
Up pictures of rail dust, this doesn’t exactly reflect it. Let me know what you think!

ORP $57k OTD

Closing on a deal after hard negotiations! Got this 2026 ORP with sunroof, dash cam, and other stuff I’m not sure about for $57k OTD in Texas! Let me know if you think I got a good deal. Also got 1k over trade in value on my previous car.

Car salesman told me he’d give 0% Apr for 40% down

Just wondering how true this is? The negotiation was over the phone, so I feel like he was just trying to get me in the dealership. I have a 650 credit score, and was looking to put 20-25k down on a 61k OTD 4 runner. Financed through Toyota or one of their partnered banks according to the salesman.

Lump sum down payment or higher monthly payment?

Looking to get a 4 runner in the next 6 months to a year. Was planning to trade in my current vehicle and put 20-25k down. I see a lot of people suggest against it, in the event the car is totaled you loose the liquid cash you put into it. However it would keep my monthly payments at $500 which is a good number for me. (60k total before taxes and 0-5% Apr rate). What are your opinions? Keep the liquid cash and have my car note come out of a designated account to pay the car off monthly, or put the cash down and lower my total remaining balance. I plan to completely pay the car off about 3 years early. Will make payments for about 1.5-2 years then pay the remaining balance in full. Also, for those of you what put down 20k or more on a vehicle, how much did you have saved? By the time I’m ready to purchase 20k-25k will be under 50% of my liquid cash. I have a Roth and tsp as well.

How long can I safely give my 3 month old German shepherd pro pectalin?

Last week I gave my puppy a pumpkin supplement by fera pet. He had liquid stool following this for a few days. Vet gave us pro pectalin. The dosage was only enough for 2 days. It worked great while he used it, but returned to soft stool following the treatment. I see it’s available on Amazon for 1/2 of the price I was charged for it. I was planning to use it for another 2 days, and use purinas flori powder as well. My assumption is the pumpkin destroyed his gut health as it ran through him completely. Additionally, I would let him fast for 12 hours and give a normal portion size. This time around I plan to let him fast for 24 hours and slowly reintroduce food. He best giardia a few weeks back.

How do your black cars hold up in hot states?

Getting a 4 runner in the coming months. I love black cars so much! I know they get dirty and if I’m being honest I currently have a black car that I gave up washing because it just gets dirty again. However I plan to really care for my new car. I live in Texas, and it gets super hot here. I’m wondering if anyone who lives in hot states have noticed fading or peeling of their black paint on Toyotas. If I get a black vehicle I will definitely get a ceramic coating at the minimum. However I’m looking into the white runners as well. Just not sure if I’m ready to give up the sleek black look. Any insight is appreciated! Thank you :)

How do you like your TRD ORP?

I’m stuck between the SP and the TRDORP. I think I’m leaning more towards the ORP because they’re so close in price, and it seems to have more features. If I’m being honest, I’ve never been off roading. I’m not opposed to it, and I think I’ll definitely try it out a few times! I also want to car camp. My car will primarily see the roads of Texas haha. I’ve test driven both and can’t notice a difference as I test drove on different days.

My main concern with the ORP I test drove today is the drive feels very bumpy. I really do value a smooth ride. If you have the ORP, how is your daily drive? Is it smooth? What made you decide to go with the off road? I’m still so torn and have no idea honestly what I want haha.

Also, I’ve had 2 cars my entire life. Both civics. Test driving the 4 runner felt very scary almost as I’m not used to bigger vehicles. Has anyone here switched from a sedan to the 4 runner? If so how long did it take to get used to it. The windshield feels really small as well. I’m also 5’1, so the seat was raised to the heavens. Not sure if this played a part.

TRD ORP or sport premium?

Looking at some 6th gens, plan to purchase around the end of the year for a ‘26 or ‘27. Im so torn between the TRD off road premium, and the sport premium. I love them both! Only thing that attracts me to the sport premium is the smoother ride and a bit better MPG. but honestly, the ORP, sport premium, and limited are so close in price that it’s not a huge deal for me. I’m primarily using it for commute to work which isn’t far at all. Literally 5 mins up the road. I do plan to car camp and off road as well though! Let me know your thoughts on the difference between trims. If you have the 6th gen, what trim do you have and what are some pros and cons about it!

Do you think your 4 runner was worth the price?

I currently have a ‘25 civic sport hybrid. good gas mileage, doesn’t break the bank, has some bells and whistles I like. However, I have a German shepherd puppy who is estimated to grow pretty rapidly. My husband is also downsizing to a sports car soon. I really love the 4 runner, and test drove it today! The ‘26 TRD sport premium. It’s almost double my current car, but with trade in, down payment, and extending my loan to 72 months, my monthly will only increase a little over $100. I work 5 mins away from my work so gas mileage isn’t detrimental. We haven’t bought a house yet, and don’t plan to for the next couple years so I’m really thinking on this decision! I fell in love with the car. If I do get it, I’ll keep it for many years, and it will be my mom car when the time comes. If you have this car, give me your pros and cons! I can’t help but think it’s a sedan in a trucks body lol. But it looks so cool. Especially lifted.

The amount of overweight GSD makes me sad.

Pic of Kanan for the funzies

I think people neglect the fact that German shepherds are supposed to be lean. In general, your German shepherd shouldn’t be 100+ pounds 😣. It’s only contributing to an early death and hip problems. Overweight animals in general are not cute. Why get a high energy breed if you can’t fulfill their proper needs? It’s so easy to not over feed your pets. This is no hate to those who can acknowledge their pet is overweight and is doing something about it! I think it’s amazing for those who do it. But the amount of people praising overweight GSD’s are part of the problem. I don’t see an issue with politely bringing it to someone’s attention if needed? Some people really don’t know.

His ears are standing up now…should I start packing his bags for college?

All jokes aside my heart breaks a little everytime I see signs he’s growing 🥺. Such a good boy🥰. Kanan is becoming such a well mannered, handsome, young puppers. As for the last pic.. ball is life lol.

UPDATE: “husand’s” cat got out and it’s all my fault.

Thank you everyone for all your help! I’m happy to say I found my cat. I posted him everywhere, and of all things.. AI helped me find him! It matched his picture to a shelter intake. I’m relived to say he’s alive and well. Here’s the bad part. He was taken to the shelter as a confiscation from someone who got evicted. I’m almost certain it was my neighbor.. of course the shelter won’t give me any info, but I peeked over at the computer haha. I went in yesterday and was told whoever Casper was confiscated from has 5 days to claim him. EVEN THOUGH I proved he was my cat with recent pictures, his microchip and vet info, pictures of the cat traps I set, his missing poster etc. apparently in Texas possession overrides paperwork..? Idk. I’m going back up there later today to raise hell and bring Casper home. Worst case I steal him back.

UPDATE: I GOT CASPER BACK!! He is home safe and sound. I made contact with the person who got evicted and they vouched for me!!!!!!!! God is good💖
