You asked for the full story. Here it is. (LPU → AIR 29 → IIT Madras | 36 min documentary

Over 250+ upvotes and 100s of comments on my last post here asking me to elaborate on my story on how I went from LPU to AIR 29 in GATE. Link to original post.

Video ban ke dal chuki hai. It covers the initial struggles in private college, time management, balancing college (passout GPA 9.23) and a full fledged GATE coaching together, the social life that drained me — everything packed in a 36 minute documentary.

I mainly made it for you guys who asked for it but it's impossible to manually send it to everyone, so sharing it here.

Will answer all your queries in YT comments. Why not DMs ?? If it's a general question the answer can remove redundancy

Did a 16-week CFD research internship at IISc Aerospace (Computational AeroSciences Lab) — happy to answer questions

Hello future Interns and current students. I'm not from IISc, I study Aerospace at LPU, and I managed to get a 16-week internship (Feb–June 2026) in the Computational AeroSciences Lab in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Wanted to share since I didn't find much firsthand info when I was trying to get in myself.

Quick context on how it went: I'd basically never used a terminal before this. First couple weeks were just trying to install SU2 (open-source CFD solver) from source and getting wrecked by dependency and MPI issues. My prof flat out wouldn't fix it for me — wanted me to actually understand why it was breaking, not just copy a fix off Stack Overflow. Took longer than I'd like to admit.

After that it was the actual project — adjoint-based shape optimization on NACA0012 and RAE2822 airfoils, drag minimization as the objective. Also picked up some Python (Matplotlib, basic FDM stuff) and ParaView for post-processing along the way.

If anyone's trying to land something similar — especially if you're not at IISc — happy to talk about how I reached out, what the lab expected, and what I wish I'd known going in before week one.

Also put together a short vlog of a typical day in the lab if anyone's curious what it actually looks like —

Ps : It's a 5 min long video. Don't click on it if you are not interested or won't watch it till the end.

How should I correctly use this beast ???

I have a Predator Helios 300 (PH315-54)

RTX3060

11th Gen Intel (R) Core(TM) i9-11900-H 2.5Ghz

16 GB Ram

6gb Graphics

954 Gb of usable space

Bought it on 16th Oct 2022

Haven't really used it to its potential ( noob user )

What and How should I use it to make the most out of it. Detailed replies are appreciated from people who know what they are talking about.

Is it just me or do people completely write off the later COAP rounds ?

Seeing so many posts on here acting like the admissions season is basically dead just because round 4 ended.

Obviously no one is saying a low score will magically land an old IIT tomorrow, but doesn't a lot of actual movement start now?

From what I've tracked, the top rankers finally start locking their top choices or dropping out for PSU jobs around this time, which opens up the matrix.

Feels like people heavily underestimate how different rounds 5 to 10 look compared to the first few. Or maybe I'm just coping lol.

Did anyone here actually get a surprisingly good upgrade in the later/additional rounds in previous years?

Made a short video talking about this if anyone's interested:

IISc M.Tech Research Aerospace Interview Experience 2026 | Interview Topics Asked (Aerodynamics Panel)

Hi everyone,

I recently attended the IISc M.Tech Research interview for Aerospace Engineering and was interviewed by the Aerodynamics panel.

The discussion covered Aerodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Gas Dynamics, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and curve plotting.

I made a concise video sharing the interview process, the main topics discussed, and preparation tips for future aspirants.
