The Big 12 Women’s Basketball Media Days have concluded and the Oklahoma State Cowgirls are the preseason pick to win the conference. Here are the preseason awards the conference released today:

Preseason Player of the Year: Audi Crooks, Oklahoma State

Preseason Newcomer of the Year: Liv McGill, Oklahoma State

Preseason Freshman of the Year: Jessie-May Hall, TCU

ESPN College GameDay is in town for the LSU-Ole Miss game tomorrow night and Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Holly Rowe will be on the call. Today Holly Rowe decided to stop by and visit with Coach Yo and the team during practice!

Today Angela Dugalić had her jersey retired at Maine West High School, which is where she played high school basketball.

Congrats to Angela on this special honor! So well deserving!

Koval entered the portal out of LSU recently due to…certain events which I’m sure you’re all aware of.

Man I don’t wanna see her in another school’s uniform wtf☹️

And also Bailey Maupin grew up a Texas Tech fan so obviously she was going to go there for college and this was even more obvious when Krista Gerlich became the new head coach in 2020 because she wanted Krista to be her coach and it just so happened to work out that Krista could be her coach AND she could play for her dream school.

But do these players themselves actually want to come back or is it just their agents suing or what? I’m so confused right now.

We got folks arguing whether or not Geno is a bad person and then here goes Dawn talking about seeing someone’s coochie in the airport🤣

It’s very fun so far and it’s been a good game between these two teams.

Victoria Vivians will be joining the Texas women’s basketball coaching staff, the school announced today. She will reunite with her college coach Vic Schaefer who coached her at Mississippi State, as well as Blair Schaefer, who was her teammate with the Bulldogs.

During her playing career, she ranked 2nd in Mississippi State history in total points scored with 2,527 points and was named the recepient of the 2018 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which honors the nation’s best shooting guard. While playing in Starkville, Vivians helped Mississippi State reach the National Championship Game in 2017 and 2018; they lost 67–55 to South Carolina in the former and 61–58 to Notre Dame in the latter.

I’m gonna say Blair Schaefer at Mississippi State. She played there from 2014-2018 under her dad Vic Schaefer (who is now the head coach at Texas). I know Teaira McCowan and Victoria Vivians are the main stars from that era of Mississippi State women’s basketball but Blair Schaefer was also a big part of why the Bulldogs were so successful. She was a pest on the defensive end and the combo of her + Roshunda Johnson from beyond the arc was lethal.

First pic is from when she hit a big 3 against South Carolina in 2018 to make the crowd pop in front of 10,794 Bulldog fans; this was the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game in the state of Mississippi. Without her sharpshooting they probably don’t win this game.

After finishing her playing career, Blair worked for the SEC Network and then joined the Mississippi State staff before following Vic to Texas where she now serves as an assistant coach.

For Bear I feel like he’s into Green Day. Idk I just get Green Day vibes from him.

Nikki is definitely a hardcore Livie and I bet she has all 3 of Olivia Rodrigo’s albums on vinyl. She also likes some early 2000s artists like Michelle Branch. I think Nelly Furtado is also in her wheelhouse, specifically Whoa, Nelly! and Loose; she would like those specific albums. I can see her listening to Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish as well.

Ian likes Eminem and this is incredibly obvious (hint: the scene where he says “who’s gonna dance when I Slim Shady the whole joint” when he talks about going to that bar with Sarah to do karaoke right before Bear offers to drive Nikki home). He also sounds like the type of person who’s into Drake and 50 cent. I def got those vibes from him.

Sarah is an alt girl and probably listens to a lot of punk rock. I see her having Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Evanescence, etc. on her playlist.

This album is genuinely one of my favorite 2000s albums. I’ve always had a soft spot for 2000s pop rock. Everywhere and All You Wanted are my favorite songs from the album and Goodbye to You is an underrated one.

I really hate this for her! She’s one of the best to ever wear an Ole Miss jersey!

Ian thinks women are good for sex and nothing else and he kinda has a douchebag attitude. Eugh. And he also likes to spread peoples’ business.

Sarah is an entitled pick me girl. As soon as she likes a guy she thinks she’s entitled to said guy even if he’s already in a relationship. And like Ian, she also likes spreading peoples’ business around behind their backs.

So yeah I don’t blame Nikki for wanting to get the fuck outta there.

It’s so good to see you get accepted into your dream school! I know you will just love it there!
