What makes you keep a card instead of trading it?

I’ve had a few cards that I originally planned to trade away, but ended up keeping because they grew on me. Sometimes it’s the player, sometimes the photo, and sometimes there’s just a personal connection to how I got the card.

What’s something that makes a card worth keeping in your collection?

What’s the most meaningful baseball card in your collection?

For me, the most memorable cards aren’t always the rare or expensive ones. It’s often the ones tied to a moment in time like a player I followed as a kid, a card with a great photo, or something I picked up through a trade with a friend that I still remember years later.

Is there a card in your collection that stands out because of the story behind it?

What’s a habit that helped you make better plays?

One thing I’ve been working on is taking a little more time before committing to a play. I used to make decisions almost automatically when I thought I had an obvious line, only to realize afterward that there were better options.

For players who have improved over time, what habit made the biggest difference for you?

What TCG mechanic from an older or dead card game do you wish modern games would bring back?

I was looking through some old cards from games in the early 2000s and remembered how cool resource systems used to be before everything got streamlined. Is there a specific phase, combat rule, or resource mechanic from a forgotten card game that you miss?

What’s the best way you’ve found to store and organize bulk cards without taking over your living space?

My collection has hit that threshold where a few shoeboxes just aren't cutting it anymore. I'm trying to find a balance between keeping things sorted by set/rarity and not having 50-pound cardboard monster boxes taking up my entire closet. How do you keep your bulk manageable?

I stopped changing my deck every week and started learning it properly

I kept swapping cards around whenever I lost a few games, which made it hard to tell whether the deck was actually bad or I just didn't know the matchups well. For the last month, I've stuck with the same list and only made changes after testing them. I've definitely gotten better at recognizing lines instead of blaming the deck every time something goes wrong.

Anyone else had better results from keeping a deck unchanged for a while?

Taking a break every 2 matches fixed my ladder tilt

I used to grind for hours without stopping, then wonder why I was missing obvious plays by game 6. Now I take a 2-minute break after every two matches. I get up, drink water, and come back without checking my phone. It seemed like wasted grind time at first, but I play much more consistently afterward.

What habits help you stay focused during long sessions?

I stopped tracking win rate and started tracking mistakes

I used to obsess over my W/L after every session. A bad record would make me tilt, but it never told me what I was actually doing wrong. Now I just note a few specific mistakes, like greedy removal or bad sequencing. I realized most of my losses weren't matchup issues. I was simply making worse decisions after playing for too long.

Does anyone else review mistakes instead of focusing on win rate?

Is there a Lorcana character you always notice?

I’ve noticed that I tend to stop and look whenever I see certain characters on a card. It’s not really about whether the card is good. Sometimes I just like the character and want to see what the new artwork looks like.

Are there any characters that have that effect on you?

I think opening packs is more fun when you don't know what you're looking for

I've noticed that when I'm specifically trying to pull one card, opening packs becomes way more stressful than fun. Every pack feels like I'm checking whether I got the thing I wanted. When I'm just opening them without expecting anything, I actually pay more attention to the random cards I get. Sometimes those end up being the ones I remember.

Maybe that's just me, but I think not having a specific card in mind makes opening packs more enjoyable.

Do you collect players, teams, or just cards that catch your eye?

I've noticed that everyone seems to have a different reason for collecting basketball cards.

Some people only collect their favorite players, some focus on a specific team, and others just pick up cards because the design, photo, or overall look is too good to pass up.

Personally, I think the artwork and memories behind a card can sometimes matter more than the value.

How do you decide what cards make it into your collection? Do you stick to certain players/teams, or do you just collect whatever stands out to you?
