Want to remove button on bottom right hand corner of books

Want to remove button on bottom right hand corner of books

Just jailbroke my Kindle and installed koreader, bookshelf, and bookend. Finally getting the hang of it all, got a bunch of books, and updated lots of settings to my liking. (It's been a really intimidating process lol)

One thing that I can't figure that's bugging me so much is this button in the bottom right hand corner when I'm reading a book. When I click on it it opens a full screen clock. I keep accidentally pressing it. How do I remove this button? Thanks!

Pressed Juicery and cyclospora

I am craaaaaving juice (anything to satisfy the need for raw fruit/veg which I haven't consumed in a month now) and thinking about getting some from Pressed Juicery but can't tell for sure if their practices would eliminate cyclospora. I'm getting mixed results when I try to google about it.

They use HPP but it looks like it's without heat. Am I correct that this drastically reduces the chance of cyclospora but won't 100% eliminate the possibility? Does anyone know any details about their practices and whether or not it would kill this parasite? Thank you so much, just looking for clarification :)

Re-joining Plex and would appreciate server invites! Details in post

I used to use Plex on my ex's account and his servers were the biggest loss 😜🫠 Help a girl out!

Location: Mid-Atlantic region of the US

Usage: I'll use it every day for a month and then not at all for a month. If you're going to kick me off if I go MIA for a few weeks then I'm not a good fit, but I'll even it out with very consistent usage for a while, too. Mostly just one device, my laptop, but sometimes a TV too.

Quality: Let's just say I don't even understand the numbers and terminology in other people's quality requests so I'm really not that picky as long as it's not visibly pixelated. No delayed or super quiet audio please, and optional but not mandatory cc's are a bonus.

Content: I think I'm a bit "basic" in my TV taste. I rewatch my favorites like Gilmore Girls, Friends, Dexter, Parks and Rec, The Good Place, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Station Eleven, Shameless, How To With John Wilson, and I should probably get around to actually watching Breaking Bad. My current favorites are Silo, Ted Lasso, and Rooster. I watch hockey so would love hockey content, and I like biopics, documentaries and docu-series about nature, natural disasters, sports, music, and other random stuff.

My Plex username: saylormoon

Struggling to find loose, lightweight cotton tanks that are durable - or did I mess up fabric care with my Jungmaven hemp?

Two part question.

Been searching for a long time for lightweight clothing I can wear in the gross, humid DC summers. I wanted to buy something durable and ethical so after scouring Reddit for recommendations, I spent $50 on a Jungmaven tank top (this one) that I immediately fell in love with... and after less than 5 uses/washes - HOLE!

Now here's where I admit that I didn't follow washing instructions perfectly - I use warm water instead of cool. So many clothing items say to "machine wash cold" and I NEVER do so I'm just used to ignoring that instruction, lol. But I do dry on low heat as it says. Would using cold water actually make a difference with hemp fabric? Is that where I went wrong?

Or... do I need to search elsewhere YET AGAIN even though I loved this tank and have seen sooo many people recommending Jungmaven on this sub and others? If so, where do you recommend I purchase from? I'm looking for 100% cotton, bonus points for hemp but not necessary.

TIA for any thoughts, advice, and recommendations :)

P.S. - for anyone wondering, they did give me a refund which was kind of them. So if I purchase another one to try to care for it better, I will be a bit embarrassed, but I'll do it if y'all think it'll make a difference 😂

Mega museum - definition, inspiration, and tips?

I'm preparing to build a mega-museum with every single exhibit. Currently spamming expeditions and when I am getting close to having all exhibits I will duplicate my current save and get started with building. I have some questions...

What do y'all consider a mega museum - just all exhibits, or full knowledge and buzz, too?
Is it possible/"required" (by your definition) to have every fish, animal, and ghost be happy with all their buzz requirements, or do you pack them in with incompatible wants?

Is this possible to do in Memento Mile with all the wildlife exhibits, as well as all the art exhibits? There's no way you can include all the custom art exhibits right... aren't there hundreds?

Also!! I would love pictures of anyone's fave mega museums for inspo as well as any tips you have :) And so I can get an idea of how crowded things will need to be!

Nervous for MRI

I'm getting an MRI of my cervical spine on Monday. I have claustrophobia and extreme noise sensitivity so I'm super nervous.

I got an MRI about a decade ago but on my torso in one of those massive machines. It was horrible and I almost couldn't do it. They let my boyfriend at the time in the room so he could hold my feet and having some connection to someone outside did help a little lol but it was just awful.

This one will be different - it's at an open MRI center and as it's just of my neck, I'll be sitting up, so I think that the machine will just be on the back and sides of my head but nothing in front of me. (Does this sound right?) But it'll be so loud and I'll have to sit so still, and it makes me really nervous of feeling trapped/overwhelmed.

What has helped you get through an MRI in the past?

Thank you in advance :)

Musings on raft guide culture and mourning what could’ve been more than just one summer on the river

When I was 24, almost a decade ago now, I was a raft guide for half a summer. In one of those tiny tiny towns, population explodes from like 400 to 1000 over the summer with mostly raft guides and fishing guides. 99% of them were men of course (I’m a woman). I was renting a little trailer and I would wake up at night to guys throwing pebbles at the side of it like we were in fourth grade and they didn’t know how to interact with me or something. Alcoholism was rampant and I’m not a drinker and I’m a pretty cautious person (which I hadn’t fully come to terms with back then) and so the drinking combined with river activities made me extra weary. I didn’t trust the people around me to make safe decisions, and I didn’t feel equipped with the safety skills either if anything did happen. We drove straight through wildfires to the put in when who knows if the takeout would be accessible three hours later once we got there, rafted with thunderstorms closely approaching. No one wore helmets. There was this one rapid that we ran on the daily stretch raises my heart rate when I think about it now because it’s just these giant channels of rocks, a horrible swim, and how these guys would just go back and surf it. Again, not wearing helmets. That rapid, bragging about swimming it, and “carnage” is all they talked about. I remember I connected with another woman in the town who used to guide there, and she said “yeah this town is basically a dick swinging contest.”

But I still think about the river a lot. I loved the rest of the stretch aside from that rapid and I loved the little class three wave trains. I loved being outside and being in water every day. It really felt good for my soul, but the lack of safety and toxic culture turned me off of the whole thing so I quit. I think it was on July 4. I was so relieved to leave. But of course I also look back on it quite sadly. There was one other girl in my training group and I believe she is rafting still now. That was the start of her rafting career too and there’s a big part of me that’s so jealous that she just made it through that summer and that life took her onto bigger things and bigger rivers and I feel sad that I didn’t try elsewhere. I just felt so done and so bitter after that summer but now looking back it’s a shame.

Yesterday I went whitewater tubing with my family. I admit: I hate not having a paddle, I hate not knowing the river, and I think whitewater tubing is dumb when you are trying to have a family activity because you can’t actually stick together that easily, and not to mention, the company was a total shitshow with horrible communication, tubes popping left and right…… shocking! /s (My family asked me beforehand why I was apprehensive and I straight up said, “it’s because I don’t trust river companies.”)

But when in the I was in the wave trains, facefuls of water, when I was reading water again and able to get myself where I wanted to go easily… I actually did have a lot of fun. In the moments that I felt confident it felt so fulfilling. I love being on rivers.

Now I’m 32 and have some undiagnosed health problems that would probably prevent me from guiding consistently and it just feels too late. But I was surfing through this sub and someone brought up Adventure Idaho Rafting, I looked into it and they have what seems like such an amazing culture, rigorous safety training and standards, plenty of female guides, and a zero tolerance policy with alcohol. I’m just sad that I didn’t find a company like that back when I was 24 dreaming of being a guide. I’m sad that even after researching so many companies, I made a decision that didn’t turn out right for me and that it made me want to stop altogether and that I never got a chance to try it out in a better environment that I could trust and be myself in. That town and company’s culture made me feel like I was just such a wimp for being nervous at certain rapids, nervous without helmets, nervous being the only not hungover one… maybe I am a wimp, but maybe it was really just them and the environment I was in, and now I’ll never know. Maybe someday I’ll be able to be involved with a river company again, even if it’s not guiding daily, but for now I’ll be slogging it my boring suburban hometown 2,500 miles from that river…

Thanks for reading if you’ve gotten this far. I’d love to hear from yall about your winding journeys and if anyone has similar experiences. And to anyone getting out on the river in the next day or so… have fun and be safe ;)))))

Need car air conditioning system cleaned

Hey all - my car A/C has a nasty smell and after some research I have determined that it is mold/bacteria built up into the system. I just bought the car in December and it was from Florida so... I guess this isn't surprising.

I went to my normal mechanic in Rockville and they did a fuel induction flush, and I don't know much about cars, but after additional research it seems like this isn't at all what needs to be done. It seems like that system is completely different from the AC system. What I need to have done is my AC system disinfected. Something like in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QWbFimZ_Gs

Now of course this video above is a DIY process but I am busy and have ADHD and I just don't think I have the spoons to do it myself. I want to pay a mechanic to do something like this, and I'm wondering if anyone locally has had experience with this and knows of a mechanic who will know what they are doing. Or - should any mechanic be able to do this? Maybe I could take it back to the same guys and be more specific about what I want, but I'm not sure if it's the right move.

Any input or advice is appreciated, thank you!

***EDIT: OR if anyone who knows what they're talking about has experience DIYing this in a much simpler way, I am all ears. I found a highly rated product on Amazon where you apparently just spray it into your air intake under the hood...? Seems too easy? I don't know.***

***Edit again - ah yes, I love being downvoted for asking a question. Reddit truly is a special place!

***Edit again again - I already replaced the cabin air filter

Can't analyze art exhibits

Undee Docks won't let me analyze art exhibits/put them in the analysis machine. When I hover them over the machine it says "invalid interaction" or "invalid collision."

I tried moving the room and rebuilding the room in another part of the museum (it was in the corner and I've heard this can cause issues). I made the room bigger. Neither of these things worked.

None of the experts can be trained in analysis - it's not an option. In the job assignments tab, it also looks like there is no analysis room. It's not an option to "check" analysis for any of them.

Help!

Sold some Celestial Cells... woops

Just started Pebberly Heights and sold the duplicate celestial cells for cash. I've maybe sold 3-4 of them. Then I realized I need them to activate the exhibits I get from expeditions... sigh. Will I be ok without a few of them or do I need to restart?

I have no idea what I'm doing - how does this build look?

I live in the US and am hoping to build my first gaming computer. I am not a huge gamer and I've never done this before. I just picked all these parts out on Micro Center's website based on about 30 minutes of searching on this subreddit.

Gaming goals: The "biggest" game (I think) that I want to play is Planet Zoo 2 when it comes out - otherwise probably some Planet Coaster, Cities Skylines, and then much chiller games like Sims 4. Biiiiig simulation girlie lol.

Budget: I really wanted to keep it under $1500 and this looks like it would go at $1435. So if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get it a bit lower but still reach my needs, that would be awesome. Also, is this all encompassing or is it missing anything necessary?

Specific Concerns:

- In order to get the Intel Arc GPU I had to disable compatibility filter. So that makes me think that GPU is incompatible with one of the parts I selected before it (CPU, motherboard, RAM) but after searching a bit I couldn't find anything wrong. Anything I should know?

- I totally selected a case at random based on the cost. I'm curious how I should pick a case... I don't even know what I'd be looking for.

- I hate it when my room gets hot, and I know my boyfriend's room gets super hot when his gaming PC is running. So assuming it makes a difference, cooling is a priority for me.

Thanks so so much!

Help me remember two old Rehoboth restaurants

I grew up going to Rehoboth and am trying to remember two different restaurants that it seems have both closed, maybe a long time ago. I think that both were south of Rehoboth Ave and possibly both facing north.

One was in an old historic house with a big porch maybe screened in. Two floors - maybe more? My grandpa loved it and it kinda felt like a restaurant an old guy would love lol. Diner vibes, we would go there for breakfast. And I’m pretty sure they had ice cream at night so we’d walk back over and get mint chip.

The second one is a fuzzier memory, most of what I remember is that I LOVED their m&m pancakes. It was a smaller restaurant with a name like Iguana or Lizard or something. I think the building was a fun color like green.

Anyone have any clue what I’m talking about? :)

Starting LDN for the first time... Take on and off to test out side effects? Ask for lower dosage?

I took my first dose on Friday night. My doctor wanted me to start at 1.5mg but I am super sensitive to meds so I asked for 0.5mg.

After that bottle was on the way to my house I started to read this sub more and realized some people start wayyyy way lower than that. So I was nervous but I took it and it went fine! Slept well Friday night and Saturday night. Haven't been in pain but am also not in pain every single day anyways, so hard to say yet.

But then tonight (Sunday night) I got really bad diarrhea. Like on the toilet for thirty minutes. But, of course, given my health, that happens to me all the time too. But it was so sudden and intense that I did feel like it might've been from the LDN. It could've been from many other things though - who knows. I did up my dose of fiber a tiny bit, and I was constipated for a few days before this from a minor surgery (sorry TMI) so maybe it was just buildup hahaha

The thing is that for my work, I'm going to clients houses. So for the next three days I'll be spending all day driving around from house to house, 20-30mins in between... I can't be having the shits lol. So I am not going to risk it and take it tonight. But next "weekend" (Thurs/Fri for me) I'd like to try taking it again for a couple nights and see what happens - to test out whether or not diarrhea was from the LDN... is this crazy?

This is the problem with going on new meds - I'm so sensitive to side effects that it's hard to work at the same time. But hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.

And ALSO, regarding dose. I should probably try a lower dose, if I do end up determining that this is a side effect. How should I approach it with my doctor since I'm already at 1/3 of what she wanted to start me at? What do you think I should start at? I just got a whole 90 day supply of the .5mg capsules so I can't cut them up 😞 Is there a form of taking LDN that is easy to adjust the dose yourself? I'm no chemist so dissolving into liquid feels too intimidating...

Thanks for any input 😄

How to spend a low key afternoon with 1-2 bags and no transport?

I've never been to Vancouver before. At the end of August I may find myself getting in at Pacific Central Station at noon, with 1-2 bags, and wouldn't be able to be picked up until 7-8pm. I'd love to do a low key thing or two, like hang out at a beach or park or coffee shop, or maybe boulder at a climbing gym for a few hours. I love and exploring gluten free food options and cafes - and seeing natural beauty though I understand that may be less accessible due to my constraints. Since I'll have bags and be a bit tired from travel, I won't want to wander tooooo too far or do anything that requires too much walking (ie museums are out), and I'm willing to take a couple ubers if needed. What should I do?

How to get two stars in Memento Mile?

In the Curator Class it says that in order to get two stars, I need to return to my first museum and earn a two star rating. But isn't this my first museum...? I feel so dumb, can someone help 😂
