Offboarded from Project E**o

I knew this day will come. After being idle for 7 months, they've finally offboarded me. I was active in the project for 5 months (Oct 25-Mar26). It was a good journey. Thanks RWS.

However, they could have just handled my profile properly for these 7 idle months.

Invitation to the Echo Project

How many of you in the E**o have received an invitation regarding the production of the languages that were halted a few months before? I am a NE locale and I received it last week. Finally, something broke through after 4.5 months of NTA. Though there has been mass offboarding in E**o, I don't know how I survived.

There's still no tasks but I sincerely believe that the tasks will appear at anytime this week. After such a long gap, I hope that the queues will stay at least for a month or two.

S2s E** project

How long does it take to get onboarded for this project once you completed the qualification quiz? How many languages are available there? I am from NE locale. I just completed the quiz today.

SME Careers - Weird Experience

I was contacted on LinkedIn for the "Document Annotation Specialist (PDF)" project on SME Careers on April 26. It was a referral link, but from a third-party vendor that recruits talent for Annotation companies. I took the test and passed it. I was informed that the project was active, and it has already been 92 days after "passing" the interview, but there is no clue of what is happening or whatsoever.

It took them more than 1 month to update me as "qualified" for this project, and another additional 1 month (total 2 months) to onboard via Deel. Once the Deel onboarding happened, I was happy that finally something was moving. After waiting for about 2 weeks, I wrote to them to check if there was any clue for the project to kick off, but the response was a vague copy-paste template suggesting me to "relax and wait" as they would contact me once they find a project that matches my expertise. I countered them with screenshots saying that I was referred for the Document Annotation Specialist (PDF) project, have passed the interview, and have been checked as "qualified" for the project. Then they stopped responding to my emails as I did ask for a proper HUMAN response and real updates over the copy-paste template.

Anyone here on the same boat or approached for this so-called "project"? Anyone here already working on this Document Annotation Specialist (PDF) project? I would love to know the status to consider this as dead and move on.

P.S. - I do understand that any Data Annotation company is not obliged to any of the annotators. The system is designed in such a way, and we have accepted it as a part of gig-style working. I have been working with RWS since October 25 and there too, have not been given any tasks since mid-March 26.

My concern is not for being unable to earn from this project, but the way companies are operating and treating us humans like some random animals. It is such a waste of time, energy, and emotion.

IELTS and Consultancy Ecosystem - Anyone?

Hey everyone,

I’ve spent over 5 years managing partner networks for one of the IELTS official exam centers in Nepal. During that time, I constantly observed a systemic, frustrating pattern affecting test takers.

IELTS test takers have excellent preparation options, but they rarely get an objective, standardized diagnostic baseline before shelling out Rs. 30,000+ for the actual exam.

Before the rise of AI tools, I met students who spent the final week before their exam randomly searching Google for free materials, hoping for a breakthrough.

After AI came along, I watched candidates rely on algorithms for everything, only to find themselves struggling to crack a score plateau.

Practice metrics and exam metrics are two entirely different things.

To bridge this, we have set up Score Mirror, focused purely on providing independent, human-led diagnostic evaluations. We don't offer preparation classes, we don't sell course batches, and we don't use AI grading.

My goal here isn't to compete, but to collaborate. We want to act as a complementary layer for the existing ecosystem.

I’m posting here because I want to get the community's thoughts, especially if you are working in education consultancy, test prep, or digital marketing in Nepal.

If you're open to discussing potential partnerships, resource sharing, or just want to talk shop about the ecosystem, let’s connect. Drop your thoughts below or feel free to send a DM!

Most IELTS students confuse preparing in class with evaluation by experts. They're not the same thing.

Most IELTS students confuse teachers with independent evaluators. They're not the same thing.

A coaching class sells you time - hours in a room, weeks of practice, a teacher's guided presence. That's designed to help you improve over time.

An evaluation done by speaking and writing experts sells you information - exactly where you stand right now, exactly what your strengths are, exactly what's holding your score back, and exactly what to fix before test day.

You don't buy a doctor's consultation instead of a gym membership. They serve different purposes. One helps you get fit. The other tells you what's wrong.

Most IELTS preparation in Nepal is built around the classroom. Evaluation is almost always an afterthought. So students walk into test day with an estimate of their level - not a diagnosis.

The gap between what a student thinks their score is and what an examiner actually sees is often wider than expected. A good teacher can narrow that gap over time. But only an honest, criteria-based evaluation - done by someone trained under real exam standards can show you exactly where that gap is right now and exactly what an examiner is looking for during your test.

Happy to discuss this further in the comments or DM me directly.

Transcription tasks

I hope most of us in Project E have received the email update on 29 May. The email confidently says that Audio Transcription tasks are returning in large volume this week.

Let me overthink this again. Is it something good for people like me who haven't seen tasks ever since AT was removed? As we can only work on the assigned language and there have been no tasks after AT (AT had my language queue), is there anything good to look forward to?

E jail.

Anyone here tied to E jail where nothing has happened for months? Neither do they remove you from the project nor do they assign any tasks.

I know it's just a side gig and the company is not obliged to us for anything. However, with some quality scores on board and multiple tasks on 2 different projects, I was wrong about myself thinking that I would be looked upon, lol.

Yeah, I am desperate. People might have seen me posting the same shits but it would be good to know the people on same situation.

NTA for 2 months+ Anyone in the same situation?

I have no tasks in E project after the transcript task was taken off in mid March. No tasks are allocated as being bounded on my locale language. I've seen people talking about receiving invitations for new projects but me.

I've been trying my lucks with other platforms but they all seem to enjoy data farming. I "Passed" and was "eligible" for many tasks/project but nothing.

Anyone in the similar situation? No hate to RWS for this limbo though but they could have managed it better.

Spent 5+ years working in the IELTS ecosystem in Nepal. Built something to fix a problem I kept seeing.

I worked at one of the multinational organizations that delivers IELTS in Nepal - long enough to understand exactly how speaking and writing are actually assessed, and long enough to see how big the gap is between what students think their level is and what examiners actually see.

Most students get feedback from teachers or AI tools. Both have limits. Neither is calibrated to real examiner standards.

So I built Score Mirror - a human-led IELTS speaking and writing evaluation service. No coaching, no batches, no band guarantees. Just an honest, criteria-based diagnostic report on where you actually stand before test day.

Evaluations are done by expert evaluators trained under real exam metrics, with a separate QA layer cross-checking everything.

If you're preparing seriously and want to know your real level - not an estimate, not encouragement - check it out.

Project

I passed the English as well the domain test for a project. It showed "under review" for few days then it vanished suddenly. I was thinking that I will get this project as I passed all the requirements but now it does not show anywhere in the dashboard, not even on "Not selected" section. It does not look good.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask the E fellows if anyone of you is working on the two new tasks that popped up yesterday and which suggest working by selecting either a Native or the language that you are proficient in. As we have a restriction to strictly work on the assigned Native language, these two tasks suggest something new. I have been constantly following the tasks, and none of the other E tasks previously have suggested something like this before. Correct me if I am wrong.

I hope you guys remember that they took a survey to know which other languages we are proficient in other than the native. Is this a result of that? I have submitted a request on ZD yesterday but, to my bad, I believe I will only receive a response tomorrow (Monday, late evening here in South Asia). It's been a very long time being NTA, so I thought to get some comments.
