Some garden friends!

No I don’t use any pesticide or weed killer. I love our garden snails. When I was a kid I used to go helping those drying out in the heat on my street. (Tapping shell before handling like my dad taught me). I would take them to “snail land”, which was just an area in my side garden with shallow dish of water, greenery for them to munch then they can leave when they want to.

I would only move the ones in the road, on busy paths or that are drying out.

Snails remind me of little old men

I have spinal nerve and tissue damage which has now resulted in the bladder not emptying problem and I have to live with a Foley catheter. AMA 28F

It’s been 16/17weeks, it’s very inconvenient and I do want to swap to the subprapubic version which just goes through abdomen.

I can’t do self intermittent catheters as that’s extremely painful for me. The one plus side though is my interstitial cystitis of the bladder has had 90.% less symptoms as my bladder just constantly drains

Feel free to ask questions about it. I’m very open about it

Having been close to a person who ended up killing their child is something I think about daily. It makes me feel disgusted at myself

Obviously was before I found out what he did. But I’m disgusted with myself for not realising how sick he was. We were friends from 15-19 years old. He got arrested for it when I was 19 and I found out by the news. His child was an infant.

I got back to my student flat after university and that’s when I saw it being posted on our local news website. I immediately went to my bathroom and was sick. I knew his child had passed but he told everyone it was an infection and how it was so cruel the mother wouldn’t allow him at the funeral. We all believed him. Me and him actually had plans to catch up, I thought he was just busy, not wanting to meet etc… turned out his phone was taken by police.

We were the outcasts group when I was younger, hanging out at skate parks, woods, exploring abandoned places. We did drink quite alot as teens but I had no idea he was capable of something like that. Sure in our group alot of us did have issues, but I never knew any of our group to be capable of that. We were not violent or aggressive. We just hung out, smoked and had drinks and just being dumb teens. I fell out of a group a little when I went to university but had plans to meet up with them soon. Me and the guy often stuck by each other when in the group. He never pressured me into anything, he never scared me or made me feel uncomfortable.

I can’t really speak to anyone in person about how I feel about it even to this day. It’s not something alot of people can relate to.

He’s also out of prison now. Which infuriates me, he took a life brutally but he still gets to live his and now pretend nothing happened. It’s a sick world we live in

How long have some of you been cathetered and what nightbags/night bag holders do you find the best?

So I’ve been having to use a catheter for 15 weeks now. I’ve had 3 trials without catheter while an inpatient and they all failed. I am meant to be having a district nurse coming to do the other trial without catheters.

They suspect the issues is due to my nerve damage due to spinal condition. But there is hope for it to work again.

The night bags I have seem to drain into the bag quite slowly whereas the one at the hospital would just straight awhile drain into the measuring plastic part with no delay.

Whereas the night bags I have to use at home take longer for the pee to start filling the bag. It’s almost as if these bags have something stopping it flowing in right away.

This has been making me a little anxious despite no leakage or pain or other indication the foley is in incorrectly.

The night bags ive got are a single use libra night bags but i have asked to change to the ones where the tap is reuseable.

Also with the day bag is there anyway in future I could still wear shorts in public?

If my bladder keeps not being able to empty then I’m going to ask to swap to the catheter that goes through the abdomen as it’s more convenient for me. Though I understand hospitals may make me wait longer to swap.

I’m 28 years old and it’s been very frustrating for me being dependent on both a catheter and mobility aids since I’ve been extremely unwell. (I’ve always had my spinal condition but was hospitalised due to gallbladder removal complications and now awaiting a ercp). I’ve not been able to work and my life is at a standstill.

The one sliver lining is my interstitial cystitis symptoms have reduced by 90% with the catheter. But I would take my ic symptoms over having to deal with this personally. (May be some internalised ableism)

Will test your game!

Hi so I would up for testing phone games for the time being but then also including steam games once my deck is fixed. So if you are looking to see if it runs on steamdeck I would be happy to help. (I don’t mind if there’s no controller set up in game as I can configure it myself)

Either paid or not. I have a fair amount of free time right now as I just come out of hospital and I’m still extremely unwell and will continue to be till my bile duct is fixed.

I love simulator type games, especially immersive life ones. My favourite games on iOS are

• Shovel knight pocket dungeon
• pocket city 2
• Sneaky Sasquatch
•vampire survivors
• World Box

Favourite current pc games
•Rimworld 6,000 hours
• Inzoi
• sims
• planet coaster
• marvel rivals
• league of legends

I’m a 28 year old woman and was brought up with gaming and have enjoyed a wild range of games of varying types. My first ever game was abes odyssey when I was extremely young.

I have used testing apps before but 99% of the games on them are just cash grabs full of micro transactions and very repetitive. Whereas I feel smaller devs who actually want to create something great but may not be able to afford to pay people for testing is more rewarding for me to contribute to even when there’s not a payment/incentive to join.

Getting used to having to use long term catheter AMA (28F)

I only got out of hospital after a 14 week long stay on Tuesday. Sadly my bladder isn’t emptying so I have to still use a catheter in day to day life. I’m been cathetered all this time excluding bladder tests. (Which both failed)

It’s likely due to my spinal damage. I’m hoping the nerves will recover and start to work again. But if they don’t I’m going to ask for a suprapubic one instead.

I have to use a foley 24/7 and self intermittent catheterising isn’t a viable option for me due to interstitial cystitis of the bladder

It’s definitely inconvenient and a pain in the ass but one sliver lining is that my interstitial cystic symptoms had reduced by 90% with the catheter. So at least it’s a nice break from that constantly

Sorry to post again. Is it normal for Libra 3gbs nightbag to go into the bag slowly due to how flat it is?

I was using a different one before and the pee would flow straight in with no delay and not back up the tube

Um. My Foley catheter just came out deflated and I have very minor bleeding and pain

I can pee abit but doesn’t feel like emptying properly. It’s 23:30pm here and I really don’t want to go to hospital as I just had a awful 14 week stay which was quite traumatic

Can I request a nurse to visit or will the just leave it as I can pee a little without it?

I do have equipment to get a new one In and I have been trained on self intimitten catheters before but I’m scared I could do more damage

Having to use full time catheter (28f) any tips, products etc which make life easier?

I’ve had to have them in hospital multiple times but never while at home. The hospital think my bladder not emptying sufficiently is linked to my spinal condition rather than my interstial cystitis which I also agree with.

Feeling self conscious, even though not leaving home and I’m worried about messing up. Hospital sent me home with one night bag and one day bag but I have more arriving soon. They didn’t give any tips or leaflet or general care. They also don’t give flushes.

I posted the special dietician one before but haven’t posted the normal. Losing my mind here tbh
