A thought occurred to me on my most recent listen through

People get angry about the twist in Morning Star with Servo's fake death, saying that Darrow suddenly becoming an unreliable narrator and lying to the reader is really strange and out of character. But it's not the first time he's done, it's the same thing he does the first time he meets the Jackal, he leads the reader to believe he has no idea who Lucian is and that his army are drunk and acting stupid but all the while he has a plan and he reveals it to the reader at the right moment. If anything it's exactly in character for Darrow where Adruis is concerned.

Me every time I try and start a new book

I actually managed 3 whole books after my last go through the series before giving in and starting again 😂 Each time I finished one my exact thought process was "well that was enjoyable, but it wasn't Red Rising" nothing has managed to trigger my hyper focus and obsession in even close to the same way.

Is the body of this rabbit too big for it's head ?

Freehanding this bunny and I've just got to putting the head on the body and I feel like they just don't quite match? I feel like the ratio is just a bit off and the body is a little too big for the head? I reeeealy don't want to redo it because ugh. But I can't make myself be happy with it, need an outside perspective, is it obvious that it's a bit off? Or do you think it'll be ok?

Son will be starting ritalin tomorrow, I'm not sure what to expect

My son, 7, was diagnosed back in December with ADHD, we're also fairly sure he's autistic. Anyway we finally had his medication prescribed and he'll be starting it tomorrow but I have no clue what to expect in terms of what kind of changes we'll see in him, if any at all. He'll be taking 1 capsule in the morning of 5mg to start with then 10mg in 2 weeks time.

A bit about him, he's super bright, advanced at reading and maths and absorbs information like a sponge, also asks a million questions a minute. In his deep nature he's kind and caring, he can't stand bullying and unfairness and considers himself a friend to everyone. His big struggles are focusing and impulses, he acts before he thinks, this is particularly bad around eating (stealing this from his siblings or even eating dropped food on the floor) and lashing out verbally or sometimes physically when he's upset, particularly when he loses a game. He fidgets constantly and chews things all the time. He gets very big emotions and tries desperately to avoid things that spark big emotions.

Just looking for people with experience of similar children of a similar age, what changes did you notice, how soon did you see them, what should I look out for? I'm trying to be optimistic but realistic about the much it'll help but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

What time are your children going to bed?

I've got 3 kids, boys aged 7 and 4 (very nearly 5) and an 18 month old girl. Up until recently we started bedtime routines at 7.30, teeth brushing, stories etc and they were usually in bed before 8. We've recently put bedtime back half an hour, so going upstairs at 8 and they'll be in bed before 8.30. I thought this was a fairly reasonable time for bed but I'm seeing lots of other children the same age as my oldest boy not only not in bed at the same time as him but actually out and about at that time. My next door neighbours daughter is a year older than him and is still outside playing in the garden or on the front street playing when we're doing bedtime routines and this has been the same for several years.

Recently a girl from his class came to call for him just after 8, he came down in his pajamas and said he was going to bed and asked her why she'd come over so late and she thought it was hilarious that he was already going to bed.

I dunno, I thought that we'd picked a fairly reasonable bedtime but I swear I see so many kids his age up still at that time that I'm wondering if I'm being silly and doing everything too early. I know obviously I should do what works best for him/our family, but I don't know if I'm being too strict and it's going to end up affecting his interactions with his peers?

Mums of similar age kids what time's are yours going to bed?

How do I stop getting these little tufty bitsb after weaving in the ends?

So I weave the ends in, snip the last little bit off and it looks neat enough, but then I continue working and I get these little tufts appear, and if I trim them they just seem to come back slightly further back along the yarn. Am I doing something wrong?

Are these real or ai? I have no idea how to read charts so I can't tell

Basically yeah, I don't know how to read charts but I'd be willing to learn to make this 😅 but yeah I can't tell if it's legit or not.

Titus

Totally random thought that popped into my head today but I thought maybe Titus should have recognised Darrow as a red name. Lots of the golds mention it's a very off colour name but wouldn't suspect it's a red name because to them they only know reds as numbers, but I'd have thought that a fellow red would have gone "oh shit no way, Darrow? Like the bloke from my drill team and my 3rd cousin and my neighbour two doors down, wtf is a Darrow doing here?!"

I need to make this more fun/interesting, what should I do?

It's going to be a donation for the tombola for my son's school summer fete so I want it to be something a kid would be excited to win. What should I add to make it more fun or interesting?
