just got diagnosed, depressed, overwhelmed

so my tsh is at 0.005 and t4 is at 51.3. i feel like my heart is barely clinging on even though logically i think im probably fine. i just got my meds though but this very sudden change in life is quite difficult to cope with. i feel myself slipping back into depression that has gone into remission years ago. i have bad anxiety regarding anything heart-related, and i just read that artrial fibrillations are a thing we might get sometimes and could lead to strokes etc etc etc. was the beginning this scary for everyone? i'm glad that my heart palpitations finally have an explanation to them but this is still all so scary.

anxiety regarding hyperthyroidism

hi everyone. so this post is more of a scream into the void trying to ground myself. not sure where to post this but i thought this was related enough.

i'm seeing the doctor for a blood test and full thyroid panel tomorrow due to my symptoms. there isn't even concrete evidence suggesting i have anything, but my hypochondriac self is freaking out. trembling hands and weakness aren't helping me either, just makes me even more terrified of what's to come. i know i shouldn't google it'd make it worse but sitting still isn't exactly relaxing either. been having diarrhoea for more than a month, heart racing always racing at 100-120 and now this!

part time worker entitlements

i'm hired on a part time basis but i work full time hours (40 hrs, 5 days a week). i'm paid hourly, not sure if i have any sick leave or annual leave benefits. i've just assumed that i don't have any but i just came across the MOM website stating that part timers are also entitled to the same benefits. however, my contract states that remuneration is strictly based on actual hours worked. do i still get these benefits or did the employment agreement override it? it's also worth mentioning that nowhere on my contract states that i'm hired on a part time basis, just that my pay is hourly.

menstrual cups and pole?

hi! does any of you here wear menstrual cups during periods? i find that when im on my period and im doing these crazy backbends and splits, my cup breaks the seal and leaks. i'm using the saalt soft cup and wondering if thats the issue. not sure if a harder cup would solve this problem since they're not made with us doing very bendy backbends in mind 😬

how do you deal with periods and pole? and which type of sanitary products do you prefer during training?

should i take my cat to the vet?

hi everyone! my cat (6yo, male, neutered) is running around, twitching, excessively grooming, hiding all of a sudden. we brought him to the vet last month and long story short, he has a mostly healed incision in his right leg. i'm not sure whether this wound has anything to do with his current behaviour since it's mostly healed.

he is suddenly zooming around, running erratically and not in the way he does when playing. his back and ears are twitching a lot and he has never had signs of hyperesthesia. i tried to put light pressure on different spots on his body to find out where the problem lies. he gets extremely twitchy when i lightly press in the base of his tail. he doesn't seem to have external injuries to the tail. after awhile he was mostly back to normal, no longer twitching and zooming around. however these symptoms returned when he did a stretch and rolled over his back. again, leading us to think something is wrong with the base of his tail.

he's peeing and pooing, eating, jumping up and down furniture with no issues.

i'm at the end of the road

i'm 28F (only child, which adds to the whole problem) and i've slowly been moving over to my fiancé's place. my mum isn't very happy about it. it started off with 1-2 days a week, then it became 3-4, then now i'm there most of the week. we already have plans to buy a flat together soon and we're getting married this november. i've always felt for my mum who's been controlled by my dad her whole life and is stuck in an abusive relationship she can't escape. i don't blame her for that. however she's very overbearing and has been emotionally attacking me saying things like "i'll be alone forever, i don't have anyone, my daughter doesn't care about me anymore" etc. i know i'm an adult and i can do what i want (which is what im doing), but it still sucks feeling this way. my mum was my best friend throughout my teenage years. her overbearing nature only truly showed itself after i became an adult. my true problem here is that i miss the times with my mum when we got along so, so much. she's not like my dad who's been horrible since the start. this feels like grief (not that i've actually felt grief before) if not the closest thing to it.

should I change his food?

hi! i brought my cat to the vet last month for a blood draw and a bunch of tests. he's 6, neutered, no known issues, quite lean and probably heavily muscled because he runs around a lot and eats only wet food. when we got the results back, the vet told us he's in the very early stages of kidney function loss. i've been reading up on this and there are so many differing opinions online, from cat owners to vets to nutritionists. i'm really confused on what to do.

here's what the vet highlighted to us.

  1. his creatinine levels are slightly elevated, but that could be because he's mostly muscle. we're not sure because this is his first blood draw ever.

  2. his sdma levels are at 14 which is the tail end of the acceptable range.

he is currently eating only wet food (carnilove) and gets a broth pouch + probiotics + dental powder everyday. all his food and treats now have less than 0.2% phosphorus in them because im so worried his kidneys are getting weaker. he is a very very picky eater and will straight up skip meals and not eat.

so the question is, should i change his food to prescription foods like hill's science diet? i'm not sure he'll eat and they're obscenely expensive. they cost about 4-5 times the carnilove i'm currently feeding him. if he doesn't eat it, what can i do? his vet also recommended the rx vitamins renal feline supplement. it's extremely distressing to him to have to be forced to swallow two pills a day for the rest of his life, so i want some advice as to whether there are other alternatives.

peripera mood glowy tint vs rom&nd juicy lasting tint formulation

top: peripera mood glowy tint in 12 campus queen
bottom: rom&nd juicy lasting tint in 15 bare grape

the peripera tint's swatch on my hand is so pretty, but has serious separation issues. when i layer it with a lip liner, you can clearly see the pigment separating from the gloss 😭 also it's a little tingly on my lips, probably reacting to some ingredient in it (not the tint's fault).

romand on the other hand has been my holy grail for a long time. does not separate even though i'm putting it on top of some bb cream and lip liner on my lips. not as glossy as peripera but it lasts quite a while for me! survives through light eating (cakes, drinking water etc).

i have an allergy (skin prick tested) to cat and dog dander and for the past few weeks, i've been getting very itchy burning patches on my neck, hands, arms, and sides of my face not covered by my mask. antihistamines help, but i'd like a long term solution other than quitting my job. even some solidarity would be nice because out of everyone at my workplace, it seems i'm the only one who has reactions to the cats :( is there anyone who's also a groomer and allergic to the animals you groom? how do you deal with it?
