How do I make this shirt look more like he 2nd pic?

The 2nd pic I just folded it up in the changing room (it's like 4-5 cm longer than in the pic)

The first pic I have cut and sewed the new hem. It looks very wonky and is flaring out on the sides, while the 2nd pic it looks structured and nice.

It's 98% cotton and 2% elastane

What are these called in finnish?

They're electric fabric shears. I'd like to find them on tori.fi or fb marketplace but don't know what to search for.

SOS how do I fix my bridesmaid dress??

I left it hanging off the balcony for a few days because I bought it 2nd hand and it had a strong smell, and it seems there was a wooden beam under the balcony that has scratched away at my dress for 3 days 🥀

It's 100% polyester if that helps...

Last pic is how it looked before it was scratched up 💔

I'm the Maid of Honor and the wedding is coming up soon. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to find a new dress? 🥲

And is there other reddit you could recommend I post this to if this isn't the right place??

Thanks in advance!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲

How do we subconsciously make our friend aware of the surprise celebrity guest at her bach party, without spoiling the surprise?

My bestie, we'll call her Lisa (F27), is getting married in a few months and she has said for yearssss that she would want a magician at one of her parties but never was able to make it happen for one reason or another...

Lisa doesn't know this, but the bachelorette party group managed - with some luck and just the right connections - to book her the most famous magician in our country, on an insanely low budget, at her bachelorette party! The magician I think just liked our idea and wanted to do something nice for us!

The magician has been a staple part of kids TV here so all of the adults at the party grew up with this magician when they were children, so they are all going to be sooo excited. Kinda like if Bill Nye the Science Guy came and did a cool science demo show at a bach party, for American reference.

Where I need advice:

My bestie moved to this country 5-6 years ago, so she doesn't know how big of a deal it is that we booked this specific magician, because she didn't grow up with them. She's going to be so excited to get ANY magician but we want her to know how cool it is that it's THIS one!

And if anyone were to directly show her or reference the magician for any reason before the party, it would likely immediately give away the surprise of that magician coming to her party!

For example we were thinking that next time we hang with her, one of us could secretly take her phone (she wouldn't mind at all) and train her tiktok algorithm a bit to start to show her vids of this magician XD but that's a long shot if it'll work xD

How else do we subtly "MK-Ultra" her to make her aware of this magician and how big of a deal they are, without spoiling the surpise?? XDD

TLDR: Celebrity magician is going to perform at my bestie's bach party but she doesn't know that they're a celebrity caus she didn't grow up here, how do we make her aware of the magician and how big of a deal they are before her bach party without spoiling the surpise?

Vintage shelf fell and broke

Posting this again caus I didn't quite get my answer last time :) hope it's ok.

This shelf fell off the wall cause I installed it wrong. I put the nail in too deep so it was just hanging on the surface of the nail basically. It fell like 20 seconds after I hung it up.

The corner next to the hole on the left for the nail broke on its way down. What can I do to make it able to be hung again, and also still look nice?

The front piece is very loose (seen in pic 5), and the back piece shattered completely (pic 4), so I have nothing to attach the back to.

And the hole on the broken side is very flimsy now so it can't be safely hung. Someone suggested to attach a washer with glue which might work, but other ideas are welcome too.

It's made out of wood. It's not super heavy but a bit heavy, so it would need to be sturdy on the wall again.
