Tennis Wall or ball machine?

Hi there!

I play tennis with a trainer and some friends since 2024 and I see a lot of results.

I manage to play 2 to 3 times a week but not every week. So when I can’t find a hitting partner I use the tennis wall at my club.

However I was looking at some Reddit posts about ball machines and the opinions always point to the fact that they are not worth the price and that a wall or a trainer are better.

Shall I stick to the tennis wall? Can this improve my shots?

Is this a proper way for a hybrid setup? My main goals are: comfort and spin (in this order)

It’s Standard (Classic) too lame?

Hey there

I started the game yesterday and I am at chapter 3 (so nearly 2h of gaming time).

I decided to start with the Standard (Classic) mode and up to now I never died and fights were pretty easy. It’s because the mode it’s really “lame” or because the fights get more intense later in the game?

During the demo I tried the Standard (Normal) mode and I thought it was too much for me because I could not follow what’s on the screen, dialogs, subtitles etc.

I don’t really get the lore

Hi there!

My first Splatoon game was Splatoon 3 and it’s the game I am playing the most lately (also done with the story mode). I really like it.

What I find hard to understand is the lore and some of the characters are for me unknown.

What’s the best way to catch up with the story? Do I need to play also 1 and 2?

Beta in Fall 2027. Release in 2028 Q1?

Hi!

If they announced a beta in fall 2027, you think it’s going to release in the first half of 2028 or we need to wait 1 additional year?

Want to try this hybrid setup poly / multi (23 and 22kg). Bad idea?

Hi :) currently playing full multi but doing some few tournaments I realised I cannot push as much I want. My focus number 1 is comfort so this is why I decided to give this hybrid setup a try. Is it a bad idea?

Recover from TFCC injury without surgery? Anyone?

Hi!

I am dealing with a small injury in the ulnar area of my wrist. According to the physiotherapist can be a small tear in the TFCC area.

Any suggestions on how to recover in a reasonable timeframe?

I am now wearing the Wrist Widget and going to PT 2 times a week.

I already had surgery on the same wrist 1 year ago due to another issue. I really would like to avoid it this time.

My “comfort racket” is not that comfort after all …

Hi there

I started playing tennis 1.5 years ago. I am in my mid 30s, actually fit. Male.

I play with a trainer 2 times a week and then with a friend for a total of 3/4h a week.

As I had issues with my wrist prior to tennis I opted for a comfort racket: Tecnifibre TF-X1 V2 275g. It’s the one with the special dumper that absorbs vibration. I use multifilament strings as well.

I am now training serve and since 15 days I have pain in my ulnar side (I think it can be TFCC inflammation). The pain is nearly absent while playing for and back hands. It only occurs while I serve and if I bend my hand towards the little finger.

Today I tried another racket I own that it’s maybe too light: the Babolat Evo Drive lite (255g) with poly strings. I had less issue with it.

Both rackets are Grip 2.

Do you think it’s the racket? Or the grip? Shall I choose a Wilson Clash 100? Or maybe a Pro Kennex?
