This is for a 2023 F150 lariat 5.0 with the 502A and FX4 package. Trading in a 2025 Jeep gladiator. I know a question will probably be why I’m trading in a newer vehicle, well I have decided that while it’s a fun vehicle to drive it is a little small for me. This seems to be the best deal I found as new ones in my area are roughly $15K+ more even after discounts. I’ve even checked into preowned 2024-2025s, and in my area they are only $2-3K less than a new one.

Open to all opinions.

Forgot to add… clean Auto check one owner.

F150 Purchase

I am looking at purchasing an F150 Lariat 5.0. After looking for about a week, I am realizing to get a truck that is the model I want and has the features I am looking for, I am going to have to expand my search to dealerships further away. I am looking at preowned, and theres just not a whole lot of 2023+ preowned in my area, and I think the dealerships in my area know that so the ones they have they are inflating the price to almost what a new one would be.

I found a 2023 with 42K miles that seems to have everything I want. Experian auto check shows a clean history, one owner, no accidents. Problem is, the dealership is 3 hours from me. The dealership says they offer delivery, but what are some things I should make sure of before proceeding if I chose to purchase. The truck is currently at a Chevrolet/GMC dealership that seems that have pretty good reviews on google.

Any thoughts and opinions welcome!

GMC Sierra 1500 Reliability

Hello, I am looking for some information and opinions on the overall reliability of the GMC Sierra 1500, specifically with the 5.3 L V8. I don’t know a whole lot about GMC products, I’ve owned a GMC Acadia that was primarily used by my ex at the time, but that was about 8 years ago. My last full-size truck was a Ford F150 lariat with the 5.0, and it was a good truck overall.

Last year I bought a Jeep gladiator, and while it’s a cool little truck is fun to drive, I miss having a full-size truck. Good news is I’m not dealing with negative equity because I own it out right. I considered looking at another F150, but the pricing on these right now seem overpriced.

Today I drove a 2026 Sierra 1500 SLT. It is preowned with only 2800 miles, so it has the vast majority of the 3yr 36K and 5 year 60K warranties. The thing is loaded out, leather heated and cooled seats, navigation, bose sound system, sunroof, Blindspot and lane assist (the thing that vibrates on your butt when switch lanes), X31 Offroad package, and more. I don’t know what feature this thing doesn’t have. It drove great, sounded great, and was really smooth.

So going back to my original concern, is I really don’t know a whole lot about GMC products. So I’m really looking to get opinions on some more experienced owners on the reliability and concerns of this truck.

Question about withdrawing an application

I applied for several jobs with Walmart and Sam’s Club. Most are in the Under Review or Submitted status. I was unaware that one of the positions I applied for is an over night (power washing technician), I guess I saw where it said “shifts may vary” and missed where it said “ability to work alternative shifts, including overnights and weekends”. Well, ironically, that is the position that has gone into the pre-screen stage where the virtual AI is wanting to do the prescreening.

My question is if I withdraw from this application, will it affect any of the other positions I’ve applied for?

Question about employee shifts

I just put in a few applications for full-time stocker positions at my local Sam’s Club. This shifts just said “multiple shifts”. My local Sam’s Club is open till 8 PM, which I assume is the same as most.

What are the typical shifts like for full-time employees? I’ve done a little research and some people say there’s 4 AM to 12:30 PM and then 1 PM to 930, and then I hear others say the shifts are 3 PM to 11:30 PM.

My biggest concern is I could make it work with a shift that gets off at 9:30 PM, but I don’t believe I could make it work with a shift that doesn’t get off until 1130.

RSC Application and Interview

I applied for a RSC position last week. At the end of the process, I was asked to schedule an interview so I did. On Sunday I received an email essentially stating I was no longer being considered, but my interview is still showing confirmed.

Should I still show up to the interview?

Is my basset fat?

The other day at the vet he weighed 82 lbs according the scale. Vet said she’d like to see him lose a little weight. We usually walk for about 30 min a day which usually ends up being 1-1.5 miles depending on the sniffs. As far as food, he’s fed twice a day and I put some brewers yeast tablets and seameal in his food for his skin, coat and digestion.

Edited to add he is just over three years old.

I appreciate the feedback from everybody. We are going to scale back on food and continue getting daily walks. Going to focus on a mile and a half a day.

Walking in warmer weather

My basset is used to going for 30 min walks everyday, but now the days of 70-75 degree weather are pretty much gone now that summer is starting. I know he still needs his exercise, but the temperatures where I live are getting to be 85-90 degrees (today was 88). How long is a safe amount for him to walk outside when it’s hot? I already know the pavement rule, and if the pavement is too hot, he’s staying inside. I’m really just talking about the heat alone.
