CoPilot+ PC - anyone else going through this?

I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit but this is CoPilot related and there is no CoPilot+ subreddit.

CoPilot experience so far has been pretty okay. Answers are quick and pretty precise, but sometimes it does hallucinate (classic).

I've experienced crashes quite a few times and would like to know if any of you have also had this before. It did get fixed soon after, but I'm curious to know if this was a widespread thing similar to what's going on with Edge rn.

Also, is there anyone else here who constantly finds themselves bumping into the CoPilot button when trying to hit the left arrow? I swear that literally happens every single time.

S27 Pro display size leaked - possible good news.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro display size leaks, will lack an S Pen - SamMobile

The Galaxy S27 Pro is reported to feature a 6.47 inch display (somewhere between the vanilla S and S Plus), and will share most of its features with the Ultra, including the Privacy Display as well as the same camera setup. It also, might not be subjected to the chip split like the vanilla and plus S26 did. It will not come with the S Pen.

However, battery sizes have not been leaked yet, and I cannot confirm whether this is a legitimate leak or simply a rumor. This is from a Korean news report.

IdeaPad Slim 5 having issues - need help.

Bought my Slim 5 14AKP10 a few months ago. It had been running alright, with the exception of two things:

- When I got it, for the first month or two it kept getting this battery drain bug caused by AMD driver conflicts. I fixed that by uninstalling and reinstalling AMD's Adrenalin software.
- The laptop had a failed update about two weeks ago, where it froze with a black screen and I had to shut it down, only to later realize that it was a software update going on (my bad, yes). After that, had a few display issues but re-installing the software update seemed to have fixed it.

Fast-forward to an hour ago, and my laptop freezes on the Reddit home page. No apps open except Microsoft Edge (where Reddit is being used). The clock isn't changing, the cursor isn't moving, the loading bar is stuck at the same position and the system is unresponsive. So I wait for a minute, shut it down with the power button, restart it and use the laptop normally. It worked.

Once I was done with it, I put it to sleep by closing the lid, went to get some lunch. I come back, and open the Reddit homepage again, and voila. The system freezes again, requiring another restart.

Performance isn't the issue here - I have a Ryzen AI 7 and 24GB of RAM. The laptop has not been manhandled - the WORST thing that's happened to it is it was placed in a laptop bag which went on the front passenger seat of my car and fell onto the floormat at some point. The laptop didn't have any issues because of that, but maybe it did and they just hadn't shown up...

So far, I'm only noticing this on Reddit via Microsoft Edge, but I will report back if it happens again and if it happens elsewhere.

I have five theories here:
- My battery % is low. I was on 17% and then 16% when this happened. But that shouldn't pose a problem, right?
- Microsoft Edge is crashing and somehow deeming my entire system unresponsive. This seems like a very likely possibility.
- Something's gone wrong hardware-wise. A loose RAM stick or broken solder joints.
- There was a software update I'd installed yesterday. There could be a chance that that has something to do here, but it's unlikely since I'd used the laptop for a while after it without event.
- The area near the bottom of the hinge is hot. This could be overheating protection.

I know the problem isn't:
- Malware. I have absolutely NO files or apps downloaded onto my computer.
- Startup apps. Only CoPilot and Windows Security are enabled.

I'd love to know if anyone else has experience here and can help me out with information on what could've possibly happened, as well as whether I can fix it myself or it needs to be taken to a store.

UPDATE 1: I let my laptop charge to 35%. Then I put it to sleep, opened it and tried it again. It didn't freeze this time. This could be an issue with Microsoft Edge or having low battery.

I believe it's more likely to be Edge since I also saw a post from r/MicrosoftEdge about how someone else is also experiencing a crashing bug.

Still not convinced it isn't a hardware issue though.

HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16 2-in-1 (16t-au000) - worth buying?

Asking for a friend who isn't tech-savvy.

They're looking for a laptop and I stumbled upon the OmniBook 7 Flip 16 early this morning.

The specs are as follows:
- Price = 1119$
- OS = Windows 11 Pro
- CPU = Core Ultra 7 258V
- RAM = 32GB (onboard)
- Storage = 512GB NVMe SSD
- Display = 3K OLED with multi-touch support and HDR
- Battery = 68Wh
- WiFi 7 option included, along with the stylus.

Would like to know whether this laptop would be feasible for research usage. Their main concerns are:

- Build quality; it needs to be durable and should go four years without a hiccup (it will be maintained well). Will this have the same issues as HP is known for (hinges, for example)?
- Performance; it should be able to handle multiple cloud-based projects and multiple spreadsheets, research tabs and word docs running at once. It will be used in a multi-monitor setup.
- Thermals; not much is expected of it, other than the fact that it should not completely cook itself after eight hours of working with research tabs, documents and stuff like that.
- I/O; it'll be connected to two monitors (one via HDMI and one via Thunderbolt/USB-C) as well as a keyboard and mouse. All of this while charging. Will the HP have enough I/O to do that or will they need a docking station?
- Battery life isn't really a concern for them, so they don't mind the 68Wh capacity. It'll be plugged in all the time with conservation mode or the HP equivalent enabled.

Edited to add the link to the laptop on HP's store:

My S22U feels buttery smooth when it's set to 120Hz - minimal stutters, no lag.

But as soon as it's set to 60Hz, I don't know what's going on, but it definitely doesn't feel like 60Hz. It's more stuttery than any other native 60Hz device I have had.

Animations become incredibly choppy, and the swiping up and down motion on the home screen feels especially problematic. This is only when set to 60Hz.

Just to be clear, this is not a problem since I'm always on 120Hz. Just wanted to know whether you guys have also noticed this. Discussion would be appreciated.

Edit: Solved the problem by uninstalling updates for Knox Matrix, Carrier Hub and a few more Samsung apps, uninstalling some unused apps or putting them to deep sleep, removing unnecessary permissions.

I've had my S22U Snapdragon since April 2022 (U1 version). 89% battery health. I usually get decent battery life in terms of SOT (around 5 to 6 hours) and good enough standby drain (4% overnight without WiFi, 5 to 6% with)

However, something went wrong yesterday (I have absolutely NO idea what happened, but I know it is not a software update), and my phone has begun draining battery like crazy.

What it used to be (figures from day before yesterday):
- Battery usage: 88%
- SOT: 5h 28m
- Standby: 16h 40m

What it is (figures from yesterday):
- Battery usage: 86%
- SOT: 39m
- Standby: 18h

I usually don't have drastic battery saving stuff enabled, just these:
- Apps that I don't use are on deep sleep (77 apps installed in total)
- Nearby device scanning is off
- Routines that shut off Cellular when WiFi is connected and vice versa
- Power Saving enabled and screen resolution dropped to FHD+ at 50%
- Screen resolution drops to HD+ at 20% as punishment for me letting my phone get so low.

The main applications that seemed to be draining my battery in the background were:
- Knox Matrix -> 6.3%
- Carrier Hub -> 6.1%
- Play Store -> 5.3%
- Play Services -> 4.8%
- Mobile Installer -> 3.3%
- System UI -> 2.2%

Meanwhile, here is the usual applications' background drain I get:
- Play Store -> 0.1%
- Play Services -> 2.1%
- System UI -> 1.6%
- Other processes (from Samsung; total) -> 0.4%

What I've tried after the incident:
- Restarting
- Sending more apps to deep sleep
- Setting whatever apps are remaining to Optimized or Restricted battery usage
- Enabling Data Saver (I don't know how this would help but eh)
- Bluetooth is now turned off unless absolutely needed
- I'm currently letting the phone sit in power saving mode and seeing if it helps. So far, it's looking bad because I drained 3% in an hour of standby (which is 6x what I usually get).

What I'm not willing to try:
- Factory resets (I don't want to risk getting locked out, with the entire Numero LLC ordeal)
- Flashing clean software (this is my main phone and I do not want to risk something going wrong)

What used to be about 4% drain in 8 hours (or effectively 9% in 18 hours) has become around 75 to 80% drain in 18 hours. That's between 8x and 9x as much.

And as for SOT, I haven't looked much into it (as is evident with yesterday's SOT) but it definitely feels like it's draining a little faster, maybe 1.5x?

ALSO, another issue I'm having is that my storage readouts seem to be all over the place. I'm using about 160 to 170GB, but it loves to fluctuate - 160, 165, 170, heck, I even got 220. I don't know if this is related, or if Android is just freaking out, but I'm legitimately concerned - all of this started yesterday. Help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry if this information is scattered and long - I'm very concerned and I'm just pouring stuff out as and when it comes to mind. I'd be happy to clarify any queries.

Thanks, and have a great day!

[UPDATE: Just tried uninstalling all updates from Knox Matrix. I'll see how this goes and let you guys know what I got]

[UPDATE again: I did it for both Carrier Hub and Knox Matrix. Also uninstalled a few apps I didn't need and put OneDrive to deep sleep (I don't use OneDrive). Will probably back up all my data now, charge it up to 100%, put it on airplane mode and let it drain for two hours - see if it's a modem issue. My SOT seems to have returned to almost normal numbers after doing it for Carrier Hub as well, but standby remains to be seen. I will edit this post at the top once I learn more]

As a last resort, I might factory reset. I'm still slightly concerned I might get locked out by the ghost admin which would not be good whatsoever.
