Plunder: online pirate battle

I’m working on a browser-based pirate .io game called Plunder.

The goal is fast naval battles directly in the browser: sail around, collect gold, fight NPC ships and other players, upgrade into stronger ships, and survive as long as possible.

It’s playable here: https://www.crazygames.com/game/plunder-2d---online-pirate-battle-brp

I’d love to hear what you think of the visual direction and what makes the game look fun to try.

Plunder: My online pirate .io game is now fully rendered in 3D

I rewrote my pirate .io game’s rendering engine in 3D, feedback welcome

Hey everyone,

A couple of days ago I shared my pirate .io game, Plunder, and since then I’ve completely rewritten the rendering engine to use 3D instead of the old 2D setup.

The gameplay is still simple: sail around, collect loot, fight other ships, grow stronger, and try to survive. But the new 3D rendering should make the world feel a lot more alive and readable.

You can try it here: www.plunder.be

Thanks a lot!

Plunder 2D => 3D! I listen to all of you, and I went further to make an additive 3D mode!

Creating an additive 3D mode - should I go all in for it?

I started making this project 2D first. I got criticism about the art - which I totally get. So I decided to bring a second 3D rendering method just to screw around.

What do you guys think, and prefer? Should I go all in on the 3D and ditch 2D?

Made a free browser pirate .io game where ships grow after kills - looking for players to stress test FFA and Capture the Flag

Hey, I’m working on Plunder 2D, a top-down online pirate ship IO game playable directly in the browser.

Current modes:

FFA: fight everyone, collect loot, upgrade your ship, climb the leaderboard.
Capture the Flag: steal the enemy flag and bring it back while defending your own.

I’m looking for honest feedback on first-time clarity, controls, combat, UI, and whether the game is actually fun after a few minutes.

Play here: https://plunder.be/

Brutal feedback is welcome. I’m especially interested in what feels confusing, boring, or unfair.
