i'm really interested in applying to these schools, but recently, i've been seeing a lot of critiques. is anyone currently in the programs? how are the programs?
i am planning to take my MCAT early august. originally, the plan was to do an SMP because i have a sub 3.0 GPA. now, i'm thinking of just doing a DIY post-bacc, but waiting on the MCAT score to see what to do.
i heard a lot of people say september and october are still okay to submit primaries for in the DO cycle. i just wanted to ask if that would be too late.
i have about 600 hours of volunteering overseas throughout the years. i have an aunt who has been a long-time volunteer at the shelter, so whenever we visit (every summer), i'll help out. it's just teaching the kids english & basic science, helping out in the nursery, and providing a listening ear to the women within the shelter. no medical tourism or anything unethical.
it's something i am very deeply passionate about, so i would love to include it on my app. however, i feel like i'd like to add local hours as well, but i also want to focus on other parts of my application, especially academics.
would 150 hours more of local hours be enough, or should i shoot for more?

my boyfriend and i agreed to video call on discord at night and just hang out (he wanted to as i was on visiting family overseas so we were unable to hang out). i ran a bit later than our agreed time because i had to do some errands and shower.
i called him 40 minutes after time we agreed upon & he declined because he was in a match. no worries because i was the one who was late. when he declines, he usually calls me back when he's free. an hour goes by & i receive no call, so i call him again. he declines once more and tells me he can't answer right now because he's still in a tricky spot.
i ask him to let me know whether he can call me back soon because otherwise, i have to sleep soon as we had activities planned for the morning. he says he'll call me as soon as he wraps up his match. another 30 minutes pass by and im a little annoyed, so i ask if he's in a call with his friends.
because this is unusual behavior, i have a gut feeling he's with his friends (which is fine?? just tell me so im not waiting on you). he insists he's not and he's just occupied with trying not to die. i just go to bed but i wake up to him asking to hangout (4 hours after our designated time!!)
i return from vacation and we've kind of moved past this. i still have a gut feeling that he was in call with someone or just that this whole situation is unusual for him. however, he insists and swore he was not in call with someone & i have no reason not to believe him.
well, eventually, i find out he was in call with a girl that night. our mutual friend slipped it into a conversation with me (assuming i knew) about how my boyfriend had made a new friend & they had been playing together. apparently, our friend had played with them once and concluded that she seemed more interested in interacting with my boyfriend rather than him.
with this new information, i ask him once again if he was in call with someone that night when he couldn't call me back. once again, he swears on his life that he was not (not knowing i know.) i call him out and ask to see his phone. he refuses to show me and states "what's the point? you don't trust me anyways so it won't even matter."
now we're arguing and i'm insisting to see his phone. he eventually admits he did call her but it did't overlap. i ask to see the dms to verify it. begrudgingly, he hands the phone to me. the call in fact overlapped (started from when i was showering to an hour after i went to bed). not only that, he had known this girl for three weeks and had been playing with her almost every day for 2 week & had not mentioned her to me.
i discovered they had done face reveals & that she had a boyfriend. while their conversations weren't super personal, i did sense some flirting from her end??? apparently, she had met him on rivals & noticed through his discord status that he played this extraction shooter that she was interested in trying. while, i don't think he was flirting, he was eager to teach her. he also taught her how to play dark souls.
anyways, he insisted the only reason he hid the call from me was because he didn't think he was choosing her over me & that he was not hiding her from me. as a result, i asked why he hadn't told me about his friend. he says that he usually does not tell me about his internet friends until they become more permanent (which is true because he told me about one guy friend (M) about a month after he had met him).
however, he never declines my calls for any of his friends. in fact, there are multiple times where he would answer my call and mention he was with his friends and because i didn't know, i would force him to join back his original call and call me whenever he was free. that's why i found his friendship with the girl so weird.
he insists he was just busy in the game so he couldn't alt tab due to his sticky situation (for 3 hours) & that he would've. however, i feel like that's not true because he's literally answered my call while playing the game before.
i don't mind that he has friends that are girls. the behavior around the situation was super unusual for him, which is rubbing me the wrong way. also, i don't like that he was able to swear to my face for a week straight and also gaslight me???? i'm not liking it...
his response to it is: "just realize it was a mistake I made and I meant nothing malicious. I only wanted to not hurt ur feelings by making you think i was dodging you for her but regardless I won’t lie again. i only gaslit you to have you drop the subject. would you rather i have said 'drop it'?"
that message rubbed me the wrong way because i feel like he's downplaying the situation??? at the same time, it seems like his main intention was to not hurt me, so maybe i'm overreacting??? i don't know. any time i block him, he just makes a new account to reach out to me. im just so confused.
i received an LOR by my physics professor. overall, the letter seems pretty strong. however, he mentions that "recorded performance included 78.01% in Tests and Quizzes and 107.08% in Adaptive Homework Assignments. The homework score above 100% reflects both strong completion of assigned work and the benefit of available bonus credit for early and consistent homework submission."
i don't know if that makes it look worse and if i should not add this letter? regardless, im super thankful he took the time to write me one and it was such a sweet letter.
also for future reference, what would constitute a strong LOR vs a weak one?

mom's being bombarded with a united healthcare caller id calling from a local area code. it's annoying because they somehow got my number too and keep asking leaving voice mails asking if i'm her. this is like 3-4x a week.
i'm pretty sure they should be calling from a toll-free number and they shouldn't be conducting "annual calls." though, i'm not certain, so i just wanna be 100% sure.
how did they even get our information, and is there a way to prevent this?

i've been doing uworld for a while and reviewing questions. my accuracy is very low (40-60%). i find flashcards boring and difficult to get through, especially while facing burnout. i find uworld questions effective but are they a good means of doing content review or should i go back to doing flashcards?

hello!! im a very broke uni student who will be spending savings on this machine. i have struggled with my facial and body hair since forever. i did complete 6 laser sessions when i was 16 but the hair has returned and doing it again is too costly for me. thus, i have decided to invest in the braun ipl.
however, because i'm spending most of my savings, i would just like some confirmation that it works well. i have researched a lot, but i'm seeing some conflicting opinions on what model to get and its effectiveness. can someone please give their experience and what model they got?
