Has anyone with amblyopia (lazy eye) done LASIK for presbyopia on their dominant eye?

Left eye has been lazy since childhood. Right eye compensated completely and I never needed glasses my whole life.

About two years ago near vision started going. Got diagnosed with presbyopia, prescribed 1.5 reading glasses. Classic late 40s stuff apparently.

Two things are bothering me:

Since I started wearing reading glasses my uncorrected vision feels noticeably worse than before I got them. Doctor said it is age-expected but did not really address whether the glasses themselves accelerate dependency. Anyone experience this?

Second thing is LASIK. I have done some reading and understand it can fix the refractive error in my dominant eye but cannot touch the neurological side of the amblyopia. What I cannot find a clear answer on is whether correcting the dominant eye shifts how much the brain leans on the lazy eye, and whether that is a good or bad thing in practice.

Doctor mentioned surgery as an option but is not pushing it yet. Some days I am ready to just book it. Other days I feel like I do not have enough information to make that call.

Anyone here who has amblyopia and went through laser correction on their stronger eye? What was the outcome?

Is there some biological reason kids become tiny Navy SEALs on weekends?

Monday through Friday I practically have to negotiate a peace treaty to get my kid out of bed.

Saturday? He's standing three inches from my face at 5:18 AM asking whether frogs have ears.

I'm starting to think they're doing it on purpose.

Looking for sweeping, high-stakes books with deep political intrigue or historical shifts. Loved Dune, Gone with the Wind, Akunin, and Khaled Hosseini.

I’ve realized my current reading taste leans heavily toward massive, sweeping narratives where characters are caught up in huge historical, cultural, or political shifts.

Some of my absolute favorites that hit this vibe perfectly:

Dune, Gone with the Wind, Boris Akunin’s books, Khaled Hosseini’s books.

I really enjoy stories with clever protagonists, intricate plots, and a setting that feels like a character of its own. What should I add to my reading list next?

What is an unwritten rule in the corporate/work world that you had to learn the hard way?

Mine is a two-fold realization that completely changed how I navigate my career:

HR is there to protect the company, not you. It sounds cynical, but learning that boundary is crucial for survival.

Nobody cares how hard you work unless you make it known. Coming from a culture where you’re taught to put your head down, do a great job, and let your results speak for themselves, this was a brutal wake-up call. In the corporate world, if you don't find a way to gracefully "brag" about your achievements and put them right in people's faces, you get left behind. Doing the work is only 50% of the job; the other 50% is marketing yourself so people actually notice.

What’s a piece of unspoken workplace reality you wish someone had told you on your first day?

Anyone else get massive mental whiplash reading Gone with the Wind because the political parties are completely backwards?

I just finished reading it, and my brain spent the first 100 pages completely short-circuiting.

The Lincoln-era Republicans are the ones pushing for massive federal government control and progressive social upheaval, while the Southern Democrats are the ones screaming about small government and traditional values.

It literally feels like reading a sci-fi novel about a parallel dimension, except it’s just actual history. Has anyone else experienced this weird brain-lag when diving into old literature?

LPT: When starting a new job, start an "Impact Log" on day one. Every time you fix a major bug, streamline a process, or hit a metric, write down the date and the exact result.

When performance reviews or promotion cycles come around 6 to 12 months later, your manager will not remember 90% of what you did. Handing them a bulleted list of quantifiable wins makes giving you a raise incredibly easy for them to justify to their bosses.

DAE find public speaking terrifying to a room of strangers, but completely fine if even just two or three people in the audience are friends you're already 100% comfortable around?

Everyone says public speaking anxiety is just about the size of the crowd, but for me, it’s about having anchors.

If I have to present to a room of 20 total strangers, my brain freezes. But if just 2 or 3 of those people are coworkers or friends I already talk to with zero filter, it changes everything. It’s like my brain locks onto them, filters out the rest of the room, and suddenly I’m totally comfortable presenting because I feel like I'm just talking to my people.

It’s not about the crowd size; it's about having that micro-comfort zone in the room. Anyone else experience this?

TIL that the founders of Adidas and Puma were brothers who belonged to the same Nazi shoe company. After a bitter falling out during WWII, they split the company in two. Their hometown was so divided by the feud that people would look at your shoes before deciding whether to speak to you.

🚨 BATCH FLAW WARNING: Monc. Grimpeurs Jacket (Hood Stripe Defect)

Hey guys, dropping a quick PSA for anyone looking to pick up the Moncler Grimpeurs windbreaker from TMX.

I just received mine in hand (ordered through RizzitGo about a month ago), and it looks like there’s a noticeable defect with the current batch. As you can see in the image attached (highlighted by the red arrow), the tricolor stripes running along the hood are incorrect. The white stripe is visibly too narrow compared to retail, which should have even proportions.

Just wanted to put this out there so you guys can check your warehouse QC photos carefully before submitting your hauls.

Anyone else run into this with his recent batch?

Confused about ZF Tudor BB58 39mm specs – V2 (12mm) vs V5 (15mm)? What's the real thickness?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking into getting a solid ZF rep of the newer 39mm Tudor Black Bay 58. Ideally, I'd love to find a version that comes on the 5-link jubilee bracelet, but a normal bracelet is totally fine too as long as the overall watch is a good rep and the case dimensions are actually correct.

While browsing around, the version specs are completely throwing me off:

Some listings out there have it marked as a "V2" with specs showing a thickness close to gen (under 12mm).

But then the listing on Andiot has it as a "V5," and the specs explicitly state it’s 15mm thick.

15mm sounds massively chunky for a 39mm watch, especially when the sleek profile is the whole point of the 58 line. I messaged Andiot directly to see if it was a website typo, but they confirmed that the 15mm measurement is correct.

What am I missing here? Is the "V5" using a totally different, bulkier movement clone that thickens the case back, or are the "V2" listings online just copying and pasting fake specs to look closer to gen?

If any Tudor rep owners have handled the newer ZF batches, either on the jubilee or the standard bracelet, can you tell me what the actual, physical thickness is? I'm trying to figure out which version I need to look for to get that proper, slim 12mm profile. Thanks!

Thinking of picking up Zegna Triple Stitches from AP for office + weekend wear. Material, color, and styling advice?

Hey everyone,

Apologies if this subreddit is not the right place for asking this, but I thought that the people that actually own these would know best...

I’m looking to pull the trigger on a pair of Zegna Triple Stitches from AP. My goal is to make these a true hybrid shoe, something I can wear to a casual corporate office during the week, but easily transition into a clean, semi-relaxed weekend look for going out.

Hoping to get some advice from anyone who has them in hand:

Material and Maintenance (Suede vs. Grained or Smooth Leather)

I love the look of the suede, but I am worried about daily wear and unexpected weather.

Does the suede hold up well over time, or should I stick to smooth or grained leather for easy cleaning?

How is AP’s leather quality and suppleness compared to the suede texture?

Colorway Versatility (Office to Night Out)

I wear a lot of navy, grey, and olive chinos at work, but for weekends I lean toward darker colors.

What colorway bridges the gap best between professional daywear and a sharp weekend look?

Should I look at dark brown, espresso, charcoal grey, or a rich navy?

Styling: Straight Jeans vs. Semi-Relaxed Trousers

Most fit pics online show these with slim, tapered trousers or joggers, but that is not really my style.

For the office: Do these look good with classic straight-leg or regular-fit jeans? Do the hems drape over the tongue nicely, or do they look better with a slight cuff so you can see the signature triple elastics?

For weekends out: How do they pair with modern, semi-relaxed trousers (like a relaxed pleated pant or a fluid wool trouser) and a clean knit or overshirt? Do they get lost under a slightly wider leg opening, or do they hold up well?

Would love to hear your thoughts on styling and sizing if you have bought from AP recently. Thanks in advance!

Built an automated content pipeline that scores and routes story ideas before a human ever touches them — curious how others handle dedup logic

Been running a multi-stage Make.com pipeline for a content client for a while now and wanted to share the high-level shape of it, partly to get feedback on a piece I'm still not happy with.

Rough flow: a set of sources get monitored on a schedule, candidate items pass through a scoring layer before they're allowed downstream, there's dedup logic so the same story doesn't show up twice from different feeds, and surviving items land in a backlog for manual review. The drafting stays human — I didn't want full automation there given the niche.

The part I'm still iterating on is the scoring/dedup step. It's good enough but not great, and I'm curious how other people are approaching relevance scoring in their own pipelines — rule-based, embeddings, something else?

Not sharing exact modules/prompts since some of this is client-specific, but happy to talk through the architecture at a conceptual level.

What’s your workflow for making Divi sites truly, legally ADA compliant? (Looking for efficient, non-overlay solutions)

Hey everyone,

I’m working on bringing a Divi-built site up to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards for ADA compliance. I need the fixes to be legally acceptable and robust under audit—meaning I want to fix the actual underlying code and design issues, not just slap an AI accessibility overlay/widget on top (which I know a lot of demand letters are targeting now).

Divi is great for design speed, but out-of-the-box keyboard navigation, screen reader focus states, and aria-labels can sometimes be messy.

For those of you who build compliant sites with Divi regularly, what is your most efficient workflow?

Child Themes / Theme Fixes: Are you using plugins like Divi Accessibility (by CampusPress) or WP Accessibility to patch structural gaps (like skip-to-content links and keyboard focus outlines)?

Banned Modules: Are there specific Divi modules you completely avoid because they can't be made compliant efficiently (e.g., standard sliders, portfolio grids)?

Auditing Tools: What do you use for your automated and manual audits that plays nicely with Divi's visual builder markup (WAVE, AccessibilityChecker, Axe)?

Content/Design Hand-off: Any tips for efficiently locking down contrast ratios and form labels without blowing up the budget?

I'm trying to establish a scalable checklist for my builds so I don't have to spend hours manually rewriting code for every single module. Any advice, plugin recommendations, or structural workflows would be massively appreciated!

Best practical workflow for ADA/WCAG compliance in Divi?

Hey folks,

I need to bring a Divi site into strict ADA compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA) in a way that actually holds up legally.

I'm trying to avoid the "quick fix" AI overlays since they don't solve core code issues and are getting flagged in demand letters. I want to remediate the actual site structure efficiently.

If you build compliant Divi sites:

What plugins or child themes do you use to fix Divi's default keyboard navigation and focus state gaps?

How do you handle Divi forms and screen reader issues efficiently?

Which modules do you completely swap out for Gutenberg or custom HTML because they are too painful to make accessible?

Looking for a solid, repeatable workflow. Thanks in advance!

How scratch-prone is the Santos bezel (BVF / AF) for daily wear?

Hey guys,

I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on a Santos (leaning towards BVF or AF), but I’ve got one massive hesitation that’s keeping me from hitting buy.

I’m a bit OCD with my watches, and I’m genuinely terrified of scratching that massive polished bezel. I have a standard desk job, but I’m worried I’m going to completely mess it up within the first few days just from normal desk diving.

For those of you who actually own one and wear it regularly, how bad is it really? Does it pick up hairline scratches immediately just from looking at it, or does it hold up okay to light daily wear?

Would love to hear some real-world experiences before I make the jump.

TL;DR: How easily does the polished bezel on the Santos scratch during light daily wear/desk work? Thanks!
