User suggested feature

This isn't a promotion, so I won't be including any links.

I'm developing an open-source project, and one of the users suggested a feature that turned out to be genuinely useful. They recommended adding a delay during part of a calculation process, and that small idea significantly improved a feature in my app.

I'd like to give them proper credit, but I'm not sure what the best practice is. Should I simply mention their username in the release notes for the version that includes the feature, or should I add them to a permanent Credits section alongside the people and resources that contributed to the project?

How do you usually handle this in your own open-source projects?

Google analyses your search history + many people claim that it listens to you also listens to your conversations

On the other hand Microsoft windows is the biggest spyware and everyone knows it. It's sends more data to third party's and much more.

Data sharing issues and Meta have the same page. I don't even have to explain it. Y'all already know it.

But the main problem is why nobody calls these things out & are this double standards or it's just -ve pr against china. Experts what are your opinions on this?

Thank you for all the support and love which you have shown towards this app and special thanks to the haters for making this app what it is today.

I know I had promised y'all that I will be drop weekly updates and will solve every issue which you have raised, but I would like to admit I was wrong. There were various bugs in v1.4.2 which I wanted to fix but the code was so messed up that I deleted the entire project and started developing each and everything from scratch.

I renamed the project from AutoDM to DarkSwitch because I do think the name AutoDM does not represent the nature of this app correctly. Plus, I have made various changes with version 1.5.1, which are

1. Added quick option in the setup
2. Added asking for consent when turning on switch based on sunrise/sunset
3. Corrected bug caused by the startup trigger
4. Fix the incorrect position of start menu when toggled when taskbar is set to any of the sides
5. Fixed the task manager theme issue
6. Added cursor scheme switch
7. Added solid color & slide show option in wallpaper
8. Added a list of all option which windows gives for sold color
9. Fixed accent color switch during scheduled toggle
10. Added warnings to accent color when using custom color
11. Added option to choose from auto, windows color and custom for accent color
12. Added a list of all option which windows gives for accent color
13. Added more option to Adjust priority list
14. Fixed stuff with system integration
15. Added core settings
16. Fixed the updater
17. Made the toggles precompiled to not do the same task again and again
18. Fixed the uninstaller
19. Added the ability to delete registries by DarkSwitch to uninstaller
20. And many minor things......

Size does not matter, just want it below 7k....

No stuck/dead pixels or any white spots

If you are in India and you have RCS turned on, you pretty much know what I am talking about.

Companies hit on me every day (I get to know what it's like to be a girl on IG) spamming their offers and trying to compete for who gets me.

On a serious note, these companies make the whole experience awaful and unusable. Now you might say that I'm and idiot and I should turn off this RCS nonsense but brother my work relies on RCS so I can't.

I just report every company as spam and pray that one day TRAI or Google will wake up and just block this RCS advertisement nonsense, but till that time arrives DOES ANYONE have a suggestion or a solution for me?

I'm asking for an offline app that blocks it or DO NOT DISTURB FOR RCS if TRAI or Google has released it....

Just added this option because many Europians wanted it, this option gets your location through windows api and calculates sunrise and sunset accurately.

For ppl who don't know what AutoDM is:
It is a auto dark mode switcher containing all features of autodarkmode (microsoft store) and light switch (powertoys) but it does not runs in the background unless and until triggered.

In simple words it has:

• Scheduled dark mode
• Auto dark mode according to sunset (newly added)
• Can set different wallpaper for light and dark mode
• Can set different accent colors for light and dark mode
• A customizable shortcut key through and a start menu shortcut through which it changes mode temporarily
• It does all that without running in background, no background ram/processor usage and no extra processes.
• Supports all time format

I uninstalled vantage a while ago, used lenovo legion toolkit (on github), but it is now not in development, are there any alternatives?

I used a mathematical formula to calculate time using windows api. Now I can successfully integrate it in my app which uses no background resources to schedule dark mode on windows 11.....

I would like to thank the europions who insisted me that this feature was necessary. Get ready for the update guys, I'll drop that next week!!

I solved the biggest personalization issue which was missing from windows 11 by task scheduler and registry editor.

I also got it to work by sunrise and sunset by using location using windows api and a math formula, which gets the exact time of sunrise and sunset.

And I also made it so that I can switch the wallpaper and accent color using the same task.

So it is finally solved for windows 11

My Windows version: 25H2 (latest release)

In previous version of windows (24h2), this thing gave errors and there were issues in themeing like in the task manager and file explorer

Challenge done. Suggest me any changes to this app or on what I should do next?
