Chicago O'Hare calls for "mandatory document checks"

Flying out of O'Hare for the first time (visiting family here) and every few minutes a call comes over the terminal-wide intercom with a list of people who need to report to a gate for "mandatory document" checks. The very notion of which is chilling, and the fact that they're calling for people to check docs post-security means they're being checked in a limited due process area.

To boot, every one of the names on these lists is very clearly Hispanic or middle eastern. They always include exactly one very conspicuous white-sounding name ("Alex Smith" and "Nicholas Johnson" for example) in the middle of the list.

I've certainly heard airports call people to security before, but never have I heard them call for a dozen or so different people every few minutes.

Fucking chilling.

My work laptop (Windows 11) keeps signing in without requiring my pin or finger print

My work PC has Windows Hello enabled and allows us to sign in with a six-digit pin or a finger print, notably not with facial recognition. Over the past week, each morning when I turn my computer on for the first time and ctrl-alt-del into what is usually the pin or finger-print step, it skips this authentication entirely and fully just logs in. This started after the most recent update and seems like a very real security risk.

Phineas Gage, America's first recorded hemalurgist

An unknown iron alloy blasted through the Mr. Gage's frontal lobe granted the pierced self-rioting powers. Friends and neighbors reported that following the spike, Gage became capricious, vulgar, and an all-around impulsive twit.

This curious incident occurred off-world on an uninvested planet known as "Earth" during early railway construction. No similar hemalurgic accidents are thought to have occurred during rail construction in the Elendel basin, a testament to the safety and efficacy of Scadrian labor practices.

Got stuck in the starting area during while making build changes in Gambit

Ended up equipping stuff to blow myself up and hopefully respawn in the match, but did not have enough fire power in the end (could fully use weapons and abilities once the match started)

I can't build a bridge to this small island because the bridge is "in water"

Trying to connect this small island to one of the three islands around it but I fully cannot. Anything I try, it's "in water." I know it's in the water, that's why it's a bridge! It's the whole storming point!

I've tried multiple bridge and road types, and different heights, positions, angles, curves and connections but it's always "in water." I can't even build a bridge to this island that's 20 feet up and doesn't connect to existing roads because it's "in water."

I can place a curved bridge that starts on one of these four islands and bends into the middle of the ocean, but once I try and add a connection to finish the road it's "in water" again; doesn't matter if it's starting from the small island going towards a larger one or vice versa. Anything to or from this island is "in water" the moment it meets up with more land

This info overlay doesn't go away on start-up no matter how many times I check "Don't Show Again"

Very much a nuisance rather than anything truly awful, but I tire of having to close out of it. Anyone know why or how to get rid of it?

Wondering what could cause this series of radar signatures North of Boston

Got some nice thunderstorms today in the area, a few severe t-storm warnings I was tracking. Noticed this to the North of the city. Far from an expert, so I'm not sure if it's anything, to be honest, but it definitely gave me pause on first glance.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what may have caused that CC drop? Reflectivity is pretty milquetoast and what rotation may have been there is pretty disorganized, but the CC sig is distinct.

I have not additional details to add as I do not have this in my possession.
I've dug through several local historical and genealogical sights, plus the archives in ohiomemory.org and can't seem to find the subject or artist (more interested in the former, but any info is cool)

R5: Accepted a "Steal Artifact" contract from my daughter, a Duke in the HRE. Turns out she wants to steal an artifact from me. Contract is impossible to complete, kinda shocked it was even available to take. I guess she can get her Saturnalia present early this year if he wants it so bad
