I was dismissed from a job for gross misconduct last year. Nothing bad/no one was harmed, but still gross misconduct.

I had another job after in retail.

I want to enter a regulated profession as my degree is in that profession. Will the dismissal fuck up my chances forever?

I have no idea why my mom and lola LOVE to take their frustrations out on yayas parang yung tingin nila sa yayas is so mababa na replaceable na ewan. Like hello they live with you 24/7 and get a really shitty wage. Tinitiis ka nila kahit sinisigawan mo sila and make pagalitan for no reason at all.

Just now my mom asked them to mop a small area. Ginawa nila. As in nakita ko sila. She comes at them after and asks whether they did it kasi ang bilis daw hindi daw ginawa ng maayos eh hello it doesn’t take 5 mins to mop a small area it takes like 1 min.

I notice rin if they ask them to do x and they do x they’ll get mad and say why didn’t they do y. Like ano??? Kalokohan na yun. You’re literally inventing a reason to get mad at them.

Sabi pa ng lola ko no empathy whatsoever the reason they’re yayas is because wala silang abilidad sa buhay. Like what?? It’s because they were born into unfortunate circumstances. Hindi nila kaya magtapos because they had to work to support their parents etc. like PLEASE.

One thing I hate pa is I wash my own dishes and pack my own things. My dad will literally make me stop and call them to wash them for me kasi binabayaran daw sila kailangan sulitin. I packed my own things for a trip abroad. My lola literally made them open everything and re-fold things and added new clothes to my bag. I lost my shit kasi AYOKONG AYOKO PAKIALAMAN YUNG GAMIT KO and I hate my things being displayed there for all to see like why does it have to be a big spectacle? Also I notice they overpack. I hate overpacking and I like packing light. Bawal kasi daw outfit repeater ANO so 2 week trip 14 sets of clothes? Kalokohan na yun. As in.

Out of curiosity who covered the costs of your visa? Is it 50/50? Getting a bit resentful that I’m covering the full £6k despite earning way less than my partner.

I don’t have the right to rent but I kept paying my portion of the rent in hopes of retaining my flat and moving back in with the partner visa.

I started dating my housemate 2 years ago. We’re now long distance. Long story short we fell in love but I’ve been reading the guidance and it says that we need to prove our relationship is beyond boyfriend and girlfriend. We’ve lived together for more than 2 years but only about 1.5 was in a relationship. We have strong evidence including a joint bank account, council tax bill, flight tickets, money transfers, being together at events, with each other’s families, etc.

I’m writing the timeline of our relationship and I’m afraid that the Home Office will think I’m using him for the visa because we’ve lived together prior as friends. To be honest our relationship just happened out of the blue. There was no traditional dating. We’ve known each other since 2019 (we met at uni).

We’re in our mid 20s and feel like it’s too early to get married. Help?

I experienced working for free for law firms and receiving minimum wage for a “legal” role for 1.5 years.

I took the advice of “be open-minded” and “take anything you can get - experience is valuable” and I can confidently say that that advice did not benefit me at all. The “legal” role was just admin and dealing with angry clients. To be honest no analytical/critical thinking/problem solving skills - all skills law firms look for and are needed for actual legal roles - were really developed.

Two questions:

1. I’m currently training as an artist and have been developing key transferrable skills (believe it or not) including but not limited to attention to detail and analytical skills. For example, when doing a plate, if you’re off by a millimetre you lose proportionality. Can I mention this in my application for vac schemes/TCs or will grad rec look down on my application because “art isn’t serious” when in reality studying art is way harder than my law degree. I have genuinely never been more challenged in my life.

2. Outside of the obvious alternative to big law high-earning careers including IB, PE, hedge funds etc. what other careers pay the same if not more than big law? I may get downvoted for this but after almost 2 years of earning nothing and then minimum wage I refuse to live miserably. At this point I really don’t mind if the big law thing doesn’t work out I just want a career that pays the same or more.

Hello I just want to ask if VFS withholds your passport after biometrics are taken because I’m due to fly out of the country after I give my biometrics. If so, is there any way of keeping your passport? Thank you!
