motors & Tanat two birds one stone in Paris

3 mins away from each other. Motors has a better cup, but tanat is claim and less "chaotic". Picked up a bag from Tanat to go as well. Gorgeous out, most definitely too hot though.

New to me- SBGX341 straight outta Nakano

the sbgx341 has been in my mind for quite some time now. I saw one at Watchnian Shinjuku but didn't get it about 6-7 months ago, then I went back to the next trip and it was gone.

I've seen a few examples online but didn't pull the trigger, because I wanted to pick this one up in person. I normally wears 34-38mm but the short L2L really makes this wearable on my 6.25 wrist.

Here in Japan and found a clean example at Nakano with box and paper. I got there 10 mins before the stores open and the rest is history.

over the moon is an understatement. Cheers🤙☕

Riverie Diver with 12 hours bezel

Just took delivery of the Reverie Dive with the 12-hour bezel. I'm over the moon.

What I can't figure out is why this never showed up in my searches over the years  since it's been out since 2020. Maybe  I was always filtering for 36–38mm cases, which probably buried it. If I'd found it back then, I would've bought it on the spot and called it a day.

Specs are almost perfect for what I've been looking for in a travel watch, my only gripes are no drilled lugs and the case is technically just over 38mm, also I would much prefer a solid caseback instead of the Sapphire to further reduce the thickness of the wayxh. But the l2l comes in at 42.4mm (advertised as 43mm).

The search is finally over for me as  I don't think I'll ever find something that checks more boxes for my specific situation.

For years, I've been hunting for the ideal travel watch with a 12 hour bezel, something to track a second timezone on the fly. The problem is, options in the right dimensions are basically nonexistent. Slender wrist here, so my criteria are pretty tight: 36–38mm case, l2l no more than 44mm, time only, under 13mm thick.

A few came close, notably the Sinn 104 with the 12-hour bezel, the Halios, Galo, Foster, but the lugbto lug on all of them was just too much. So I made compromises over the years. Bought dive watches in the right dimensions but settled for 60 minute bezels (you can track a second timezone with one by dividing in fives, same idea really). Tried day/date complications. Even went down the digital rabbit hole for a bit. Eventually let all of them go, because at some point I just stopped wanting to settle.

In a sea of dive watches,  big brands and micros alike, This reverie is a genuine hidden gem.  This was released back in 2020, five years late to the party, and with almost no coverage or reviews out there, it's easy to see how it slipped under the radar. But better late than never. I finally found it, and that's enough for me.

Also attached a few pictures of the travel watches that I've settled over the years, ended up letting them go because it was just not quite right.

June-july coffee plus new gadgets

picked up something local ( coffee del rey Gesha and native Castillo) and something foreign from work, went to Zurich to pick up a bag of mame and went to narita Japan and got a bag of Kenya. Also bought a filter presser after seeing one in action at the mame coffee shop, and got a drip assist to brew the more delicate Gesha beans.

Duplo filter stand with filter presser holder update

Went to Zurich for work a few days ago, saw the barista at Mame was using the filter presser. I thought it would be cool to get one as well.

I know it is totally unnecessary, but then again what's necessary anyway. naturally since it's being used with the filter so I have to get an extension for it.

Say cheese with the clock tower

I was told I took a terrible picture with extreme low light and the street vending machine. Guess it's only fitting to retake one with a different background. What a nice day.

Lego filter stand, why not

My kids are outgrown these big Lego blocks, so I figured I should repurpose and reuse them. Made a filter stand out of them, why not right?

Strap is on point [SBJG017]

I'm a big fan of watch steward straps. Quality stuff with a reasonable price tag. Think this combo is great, definitely weatherproof.☕🤙

Picked up this bag of beans and think the texts on the bags also could be said to this "hobby" of ours as well.

"It begins at origin, and ends with you." Every piece carries the story of a brand, then you become the next chapter
