How does one get that beautiful bass effect which is similar to an impact, like a sub impact? Read description!

So it’s used heavily in film scoring, Hans Zimmer a lot, as well as people like Aaron Hibell. Some super random song examples I can think of if we’re not talking film music, is near the start of Sweet Geat Lightning by Gregory Alan Isakov and Ceilings by Lizzy McAlpine. I know, super random but they’ve got it.

It’s almost like deep muffled explosion sound, but just heavily EQ’d with a low pass. But I cba to add an explosion sound effect and EQ it every time when I know there’s a simple way to achieve this professional sound. I’d really appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction or even a specific sound effect that I can use. Ask away if I’ve left any info out, thank you so much.

Went away for the weekend, super hot in my room. Window shut, door shut, nothing could have really got it but I came home to find this on my bedside table and a moth in my room if that means anything. Please don’t tell me this could be mouse faeces?!

I measured one of them to be 3mm. Any other info needed and I’ll happily help

Why does my AirPods case make a ringing echoing arpeggio sound effect when I pick it up?

Basically what the title says - my AirPods case makes this really nice but also annoying sound when I pick it up. It never did it before until recently - how do I make it stop?

Has anyone else noticed various kickoff times for World Cup games changing in the BBC Sport app?

I feel like I’m seeing things, surely someone else has noticed it?

For example, the England game tonight originally appeared as 16:00, now it’s obviously 17:00. This has happened with the England v Ghana game as well, it was 22:00 but then 21:00.

Does anyone know the snare or type of snare used on If We Being Real by Yeat?

It’s a very sharp sounding, almost whip-like snappy snare and I’ve always wanted to get the same sound. Thanks in advance!

Managed to get tickets in both the BFI and The Ronson Theatre! I’ll be watching a 3 hour movie on 70mm, twice, within 48 hours 🤣

I mean this morning was chaos, I waited in the queue for an hour and a half on my phone, with Google and safari separately backing me up on my Mac. I got to the first spot on my phone and was hit with the “Sorry, you’ve lost your place in the queue” or something, but I managed to snag two aisle tickets on the 21st in the Ronson Theatre, so wasn’t super devastated. Until… I remembered my safari tab on my Mac, that was like 4000+th in the queue. It had come to 600 in front of me so I waited and it actually worked. I booked two tickets, centre block, 19th July, row H! So lucky and grateful. I’ve never had the best luck but this time it worked out for me! Gotta get Dune for December though!

This one was especially good to get, as I actually won an award at the BFI in February. So it’s already a super special place for me!

Does anyone have a solution to having to constantly recharge wireless under-shelf lights as well as lighting the top floating shelf? TIA!

I'm having to recharge my magnetic undershelf lights almost once a day, and the charging takes around 3 hours. If anyone has some strange solution to this it would be fantastic, though I know it's sort of impossible.
Also, has anyone found a solution to lighting the top shelf of a set of 3 floating shelves? I really cannot think of one and it's completely out of balance without the same lighting as the two bottom shelves!
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, I need a recommendation for a TV backlight for a 42” TV!

So I’m planning to soon buy a 42” LG OLED C5 TV, for above my fireplace in my bedroom. Either side of the chimney breast (where the TV will be wall mounted) is a Govee RGBIC strip, lined behind my wardrobes. I’m planning to use these with DreamView. Would that work out well?

With the TV, I’m going to be using both HDMI and the apps inside the TV, so I’m guessing the Sync Box is out of the conversation. The only problem I’m left with is the length of the strip I do get. What options do I have and does anyone have any experience with a longer strip on a smaller TV? Thanks in advance!

I’m looking for a new keyboard with some really picky requirements!

Hello everyone, I know this may come across as stupid or out of touch but I’m just wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for a new keyboard.

Currently I have the Royal Kludge RK61, but it’s slowly breaking down with some of the keys randomly becoming unresponsive every now and then.

Requirements:

Firstly, it needs to be bigger so there is separate arrow keys, but still generally small and compact compared to most keyboards (around 75%)

I really want a mature and sleek aesthetic, almost a bit minimalist with off-whites, space blacks, wooded tones even.

A really good thocky, deep sound. Not too annoying with lots of typing, not too gamer-ish.

It would be amazing if it was still fully RGB with colours and modes, but not an absolute deal breaker.

The on button has to be accessible without having to flip it over, cuz that got really annoying fast.

Lastly, if it had a dial or just some interesting/fun sort of controls to spice things up a bit it would be phenomenal, but understood if that’s really a stretch.

So that’s it really, thanks in advance for any help anyone can give, I’m a bit stuck here even after having a long long search myself!

What is the absolute best 2m USB-C to USB-C cable you recommend?

I’m tired of all my cables somehow getting damaged or unusable, so I’d love to get some recommendations for the best cable in terms of reliability, quality, power etc etc! Thanks!

Can I replace a bulb with the exact same type but keep the same routines/settings etc?

Hi, so basically I’ve got two bulbs that have both recently died, and I’ve just bought two of the exact same bulbs. I need to replace them now but I’m afraid that once I say like ‘forget device’ for example, it’s going to delete all routines. Can I just add the new bulbs under the exact same name? Will that work? Thanks for any help!

After I’ve fixed the middle pedal, it now sounds out of tune? Can anyone help?

Hi, so on my Yamaha U1, the sostenuto pedal had to be pressed extremely hard to come in to effect, so I removed the bottom panel and tightens the fixture connecting the pedal to the felt behind the keys. All fine, works well now… however it now sounds out of tune when I play with the middle pedal. You can hear in the video. Can anyone help?
