Text is jagged and blurry on some pages both in the program and after exporting?

This is one of the most frustrating InDesign issues I’ve dealt with in quite some time. Text boxes — with the same font, style, everything — are showing blurry/jagged text on some pages/in some text boxes but not others in a 60 page document. I can’t determine a cause. It would be easier to troubleshoot if it was only noticeable in the PDF export, but it’s visible in the program as well. Are there any possible solutions I should try?

UPDATE: it seems to be PNG images that are causing the problem. If anyone knows how to fix this, I am all ears.

Next show at Ascend not until June 8th. Is this typical?

I looked at the Ascend Amphitheater schedule after the David Byrne concert last night (May 9th) and realized the next show isn’t until June 8th. A hiatus of that length seems odd for an outdoor venue. Is this normal? Or new management (Ryman)? Or just a scheduling quirk?

Earlier today, I was driving on a busy road when I noticed two birds in the distance flying away from something still on the road — a baby or very young bird. Still suffering from the lingering trauma of (unsuccessfully) trying to nurse a lost fledgling back to health last year, I thought that I could turn around and at least remove the bird from the road, especially since there was a break in traffic.

However, oncoming traffic was heavy, so it took too long to make a U-turn. By the time I got back to the bird, it was too late. I'm a sucker for all animals, but there is something about birds in particular that brings out the raw empath in me. Hours later, and I'm still struggling.

Objectively, this is trivial in the grand scheme of things and the circle of life. I know I can't expend this amount of emotional energy every time I come in proximity to the death of a bird.
